Actress Says Men Must Marry ‘Within Their Financial Level’ to Earn Respect

Actress Lizzy Gold has expressed her views on marriage, relationships, and maintaining a healthy financial balance between couples.

Speaking during a recent movie set conversation, she said that a man’s level of respect in a relationship might be influenced by his financial situation. As said by her:

“Marry someone who is wealthier than you if you want a woman to respect you as a man.” You are on your own if you marry someone who is wealthier than you. You will never be respected by her.

Additionally, she stated what she personally preferred when selecting a partner:

For my part, I’ll wed a man who is far wealthier than me. Even if you marry a lady who respects you and is wealthier than you, eventually she will stop respecting you, and you won’t be able to control her.

Lizzy Gold continued by advising people to be practical when selecting relationships based on their financial situation:

“A spec should be owned by every man. Your specifications should fit your budget. You cannot be making $300,000 and pursuing a woman who makes $500,000.

Portable Cries Foul After Controversial Loss to Carter Efe in Lagos Boxing Drama

According to PUNCH Sports Extra, Habeeb “Portable” Badmus has asserted that his loss to Carter Efe at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos was orchestrated to shield organizers from having to pay out billions of naira wagered on his victory. He claims he was stopped early when he might have continued.

“It was dishonest. They manipulated it since they couldn’t afford the money. They tore me apart because we were the winners. The N23 billion that people wagered on me was beyond their means. The ZaZoo crooner stated, “Portable can never pay the money if they win.

Comparing his condition during the battle to his prior star fights, he further asserted that the stoppage was unjustified.

“They ought to have given us more time to fight. They said I was panting, I did the same against Charles Okocha. All they should have done was pour water on me so I could go and beat him, but they said the fight was over,” he said.

After three rounds, all three judges scored the fight 27–30 in favor of Efe, and Portable lost by unanimous decision. After defeating Speed Darlington and Charles Okocha to win two titles, the loss put an end to his era as a celebrity boxing champion.

The artist also demanded what he called “streaming revenue from the event” as part of his financial grievances.

He said, “I want to give the organizers my stream money, which is approximately N200 million. Before I get into problems, just give me my money.”

Arinze Onwumelu, a Nigerian physician living in Canada, has advised Portable to have a head scan after the fight, cautioning that Efe’s blows might have damaged his internal organs. Onwumelu, also known as Dr. Zo, claimed that Efe frequently smacked Portable’s head in sensitive regions and suggested that the singer get an MRI to rule out a subdural hemorrhage.

“Anyone who knows Portable should take him to the hospital for an MRI and brain test; there may be an artery that might have been damaged,” he added, adding that future exhibition bouts of that kind ought to require competitors to wear headgear.

Portable claimed that the arrival of his baby that same evening put everything into perspective, despite the loss and the health issue.

He said, “A bouncy baby boy was just born to my wife. That is more valuable to me than a belt. “You can purchase the belt, but not my kid.”

Tyla says that her second album, A*POP, will be out on July 24, 2026. The South African actress teases a cinematic new era with a 19-track record that defines her worldwide voice after winning two Grammy Awards in a row.

The announcement was made through a cinematic teaser that establishes the project’s unabashedly African, self-assured, and international nature.

The A-Pop era’s visual manifesto is presented in the trailer. Tyla describes the project as an evolution where she is “settled in” and has a better understanding of her path as she describes the shift into this next stage of her career.

She clarified that although her debut seemed like a “rush,” she now knows exactly what she wants to convey in an interview with Rolling Stone. Tyla told i-D Magazine that the album’s 19 tracks “really reflect” where she is in her life right now, shifting from the initial pressure of a huge debut to a sound that emerged organically.

over the artist, who has been winning awards at a record-breaking rate over the past two years, it is a momentous occasion. “Water,” the viral smash that won her the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, was inspired by her 2024 self-titled debut, “TYLA.”

Although A*POP’s complete track list is still unknown, the album already has a strong base. It includes “Chanel,” which debuted on her 2025 mixtape “WWP,” and “She Did It Again,” a recent duet with Zara Larsson that has a pop style reminiscent of the 2000s. Additionally, there are rumors that this cycle includes a partnership with Wizkid called “Dynamite,” which would increase her desired cross-continental reach.

On the day of the release, Tyla will play at the TODAY Show’s Citi Concert Series in New York City, giving the album’s life cycle a high-profile beginning.
