World Cup Twist? Paolo Zampolli Urges FIFA to Replace Iran with Italy

Paolo Zampolli, the ambassador of US President Donald Trump, has requested FIFA to substitute Italy for Iran in the 2026 World Cup.

This is a component of a strategy to mend Trump’s relationship with Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy.

After Trump attacked Pope Leo XIV over the Iran War, the two leaders became estranged.

“I certify that I have recommended Italy take Iran’s spot at the World Cup to Trump and [FIFA president Gianni] Infantino.

“Seeing the Azzurri at a tournament held in the United States would be a dream come true for me as an Italian.

Zampolli told the Financial Times, “With four titles, they have the pedigree to justify inclusion.”

After losing 4-1 against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a qualification play-off in March, Italy was unable to advance to the World Cup.

We’re Winding Down – Donald Trump Signals Ceasefire As Iran War Enters 21st Day

United States President, Donald Trump, has hinted at a possible scaling back of military operations against Iran as the US–Israel conflict enters its 21st day.

Trump made the disclosure in a statement posted on his Truth Social account on Friday night, suggesting that Washington is close to achieving its objectives in the Middle East.

He said the US-Israel campaign has significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities, including its missile systems, while also targeting key leadership figures.

The US president reiterated that American forces would continue to defend regional allies such as Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

He also stressed the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, noting it must be secured.

“We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the terrorist regime of Iran: (1) completely degrading Iranian missile capability, launchers, and everything else pertaining to them. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including anti-aircraft weaponry. (4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to nuclear capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place. (5) Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others.

“The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other nations who use it—the United States does not! If asked, we will help these countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated. Importantly, it will be an easy military operation for them. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote.

Meanwhile, tension remains high as Iran’s Quds Force commander, Esmail Qaani, vowed “more surprises” in attacks targeting the US, Israel, and their allies.

In a separate development, a statement attributed to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claimed victory over US and Israeli forces, boasting that Iran had delivered a “dizzying blow” to its adversaries.

However, Trump maintained that Iran’s leadership structure has been effectively dismantled, declaring that its leaders are “all gone.”

Iran War: ‘US Has Won, Will Finish The Job’ – Donald Trump Declares

Amid the ongoing tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that America has won the war against Iran.

Trump made this statement on Wednesday while speaking in Kentucky, stating, however, that the US has to finish the job.

“We’ve won. Let me tell you, we’ve won. You know, you never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over. But we won,” he said.

After the president declared victory, he noted that the US cannot leave early but finish the job completely.

“We gotta finish the job, right?” Trump said.

Trouble started on February 28 when the US, alongside Israel, attacked Iran, resulting in the death of the Iranian Supreme Leader.

The hostility has continued with Iran launching series of drones and missiles on every United States’ interest in neighbouring countries.

Iran has also struck Israel severally with drones and missiles.

At least 7 US soldiers have died from the war with about 104 injured.

On Wednesday, Iran released a video of captured United States’ soldiers kneeling down with cuffs on their hands backward.

War: We’re Coming In To Clean Up – Donald Trump Insists On Ground Invasion Of Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed Iran’s claim that the country is ready for a potential ground invasion by American and Israeli troops.

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said on Thursday that the US and Israel should not try to invade by land, warning it would be a “big disaster” for them.

Araghchi said, ‘We are confident that we can deal with them.”

However, when speaking to NBC, the US leader said that Iran’s statement means nothing.

“It’s a waste of time. They’ve lost everything. They’ve lost their Navy. They’ve lost everything they could possibly lose,” Trump boasted.

The US leader again talked about his plan to shape Iran’s future, saying he already has someone in mind to lead the country.

“We want to go in and clear out everything. He said, “We don’t want someone who would take more than 10 years to rebuild.

“They need a good leader. There are some individuals I believe would perform well in the role.”

Ronaldo Is Great, I Think You May Be Better Than Pele – Trump Tells Messi In White House (Video)

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, praised football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Pelé during Lionel Messi’s visit to the White House on Thursday.

Messi and his Inter Miami team-mates were attending a reception, to celebrate winning MLS Cup for the first time in club history.

It was the first time the 39-year-old had visited the White House after his rival, Ronaldo attended a dinner there last November.

Trump said: “My son said, ‘Dad, do you know who’s going to be there today?’ I said, ‘No, I got a lot of things going on.’ He said, ‘Messi.’

“So he’s a big soccer fan, but he’s a tremendous fan of yours. And a gentleman named Ronaldo. Cristiano is great. You’re great.”

Trump also compared Messi with Brazilian legend Pele, who played for the New York Cosmos in the US.

“You may be better than Pele,” Trump said, before asking the crowd, “Who’s better?”

BREAKING: Trump Adds Nigeria, 15 More Countries To Travel Restrictions

President Donald Trump has signed a new proclamation tightening restrictions on the entry of foreign nationals into the United States, adding 15 more countries to those subject to partial travel bans.

The move was made on Tuesday as part of ongoing efforts to tighten U.S standards for travel.

The newly added countries include Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The Proclamation continues full restrictions on the original 12 high-risk countries: Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

It also imposes full restrictions on five additional countries based on recent security analyses: Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, and Syria, as well as individuals holding Palestinian-Authority-issued travel documents. Two countries previously under partial restrictions Laos and Sierra Leone are now subject to full restrictions. Meanwhile, partial restrictions remain for Burundi, Cuba, Togo, and Venezuela.

The Proclamation lifts nonimmigrant visa bans for Turkmenistan, citing improved cooperation with the U.S., while maintaining restrictions on immigrant visas for its nationals.

Exceptions are provided for lawful permanent residents, current visa holders, certain visa categories such as athletes and diplomats, and individuals whose entry serves U.S. national interests.

Meta Suspends Nigerian Rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem’s Instagram, Facebook Pages Over ‘Open Letter To Trump’

Eedris Abdulkareem, the veteran Nigerian rapper, has revealed that his Facebook and Instagram accounts have been deactivated.

The activist said it happened shortly after he released his new track, Open Letter to Donald Trump.

He said on Sunday that he has been unable to log into both accounts since the song came out.

Checks also showed that the pages could no longer be opened.

The rapper, known for his strong views on politics and governance, did not state how long the suspension might last or whether Meta gave him any notice.

Open Letter to Donald Trump, released in November 2025 under Lakreem Entertainment, takes aim at corruption, insecurity and poor leadership in Nigeria.

Though framed as a message to the U.S. president, the song focuses on Nigeria’s leaders.

Abdulkareem called out those in power for living well while citizens face hardship.

He also pointed to the rise in kidnappings, killings and other crimes that leave many people unsafe and worried.

By mentioning Trump, the rapper tried to draw global attention to Nigeria’s problems, hoping the world will look closer at what ordinary citizens are facing.

The song continues his long track record of using music to question those in authority, much like his earlier hit Jaga Jaga, which attacked corruption and poor governance.

In April 2025, the National Broadcasting Commission ordered radio and TV stations not to air his song Tell Your Papa, saying it contained content that went against broadcast rules.

Before that, in 2004, Jaga Jaga was banned during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.

White House Locked Down Following Shooting Of Two National Guard Members

On Wednesday, the White House was reportedly placed on lockdown, after a shooting involving members of the U.S. National Guard near the nation’s capital, heightening security concerns in the area.

The shooting occurred close to the Farragut Metro Station, coinciding with a controversial troop deployment to Washington, D.C., ordered by President Donald Trump.

In a post on X, the DC Metropolitan Police stated that officers were present at the scene and advised the public to stay away from the vicinity.

While police have not officially confirmed casualties, law enforcement sources told the Associated Press that two National Guard members were shot. Another source, speaking to the New York Times, reported that only one Guard member was injured in the incident. Details about how the shooting unfolded remain unclear.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The White House is aware and actively monitoring this tragic situation.” She confirmed that President Trump has been briefed on the incident.

National Guard troops have been stationed in Washington, D.C., for several months as part of Trump’s campaign against crime in the city. The deployment has drawn criticism from several state governors, who have described it as “cruel and purposefully inflammatory.”

I’m Really Angry Over Christian Genocide In Nigeria – Donald Trump Declares, Hints At Next Move

United States President Donald Trump has voiced strong outrage over the alleged Christian genocide taking place in Nigeria.

Trump, in his latest comments on the issue, stated that thousands of Christians are being k!lled in the West African country.

The US President spoke on a conservative radio program on Friday, as captured by Fox News.

Trump had earlier designated Nigeria as a ‘Country of Particular Concern’ over the Christian genocide claims. He threatened military action in Nigeria to stop the k!llings, branding the country “a disgrace”.

He also accused the Nigerian government of failing to protect Christians from violence perpetrated by the Islamic extremists.

Hinting at his next move during the radio program, Trump said he may stop all aid to Nigeria.

Trump further repeated his threat to take military action against Islamist militants in Nigeria if the government does not “do more” to stop attacks on Christian communities.

“Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace.

“They’re k!lling people by the thousands. It’s a genocide, and I’m really angry about it. And we pay, you know, we give a lot of subsidies to Nigeria. We’re going to end up stopping”,he said.

Trump Said He’s Fighting Terrorists Not Nigerians – CAN

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, Reverend Joseph Hayab has clarified that United States President Donald Trump said he’s fighting against terrorists not Nigerians.

He was reacting to Trump’s statement on the k!lling of Christians in Nigeria.

According to Hayab, Trump’s statement was intentionally misrepresented by many people.

Speaking on The Morning Show on Arise Television on Wednesday, November 12, Hayab clarified that Trump never threatened to invade Nigeria but merely urged the Federal Government to take decisive action against terrorists targeting Christians.
“Listening to what Trump said, Trump never said he was going to come to fight Nigeria. There’s a twisting of all these things,” Hayab said.

“Trump simply said, ‘Go after these terrorists; if you don’t go after them, we can come and go after them.’ So, who is afraid of Trump coming to Nigeria?”

Hayab stressed that acknowledging the reality of attacks on Christians is the first step toward national reconciliation and peace.

“You can’t tell someone who is a victim, who is in pain, that his cries are not true,” he said.

“Once we stop doing that, then we’ll find a solution. Let’s admit that people came and killed Christians, and they came in the name of religion. They came as Islamic fundamentalists.”
He, however, clarified that Christians are not accusing all Muslims but rather extremists who use religion as a cover for violence.
“No Christian is saying Muslims had a meeting and asked people to go and kill them, but Christians are saying that fundamentalists, terrorists came in the name of Islam and killed Christians. When we acknowledge that fact, then we’ve started a journey of healing,” he explained.
The CAN chairman called for empathy and dialogue among Nigerians, noting that honest conversations are key to restoring national trust.
“When we begin to talk to one another and understand the feelings and pain that people are going through, people will trust any conversation we bring to the table,” Hayab said.
He urged government officials to stop dismissing reports of religious killings and instead engage directly with affected communities to rebuild confidence and foster unity.
Reacting to criticisms that Trump’s statement represents an American political agenda, Hayab argued that Nigerian leaders should be more concerned about addressing the grievances of victims than debating Trump’s motives.
“Before you tell me about Trump’s agenda, have you shown concern when I was burying people in large numbers?” he asked.
“If you fail to act and Trump says he’s coming, let him come, at least it will show you’re not the only one watching.”
President Trump recently drew attention to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, warning of consequences if the Nigerian government failed to act against terrorists targeting religious minorities.
The statement, which has stirred controversy, was interpreted by some as a threat of military intervention, prompting clarifications from both U.S. officials and Nigerian religious leaders.
Trump’s comment follows several reports of sectarian violence in northern Nigeria, including attacks on Christian communities in Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, and other states.
Reverend Hayab’s comments come amid renewed calls for the Federal Government to intensify efforts toward curbing religiously motivated killings and ensuring justice for victims across the country.
