Mohbad: You’re manipulator, stop deceiving Nigerians – Portable slams Verydarkman

Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has criticised controversial activist Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkman, accusing him of using Mohbad’s death to fuel drama and mislead the public.

Portable labelled VDM a “manipulator” and warned him to stop deceiving Nigerians.

He also rebuked him for persistently attacking actress Iyabo Ojo, stating that such actions are harming the ‘Justice for Mohbad’ movement rather than the actress herself.

He expressed disappointment that while VDM initially gained popularity for advocating justice for Mohbad, he now seems to have shifted his stance against the late singer.

Portable said …

“VeryDarkMan, you came out deceiving Nigerians that you want justice for Mohbad. You’re a manipulator. Now, you’re dragging Iyabo Ojo. What’s really her offense?

“You’re a manipulator. You claimed you want justice for Mohbad, so why are you now going against Mohbad? Leave Mohbad and let him rest in peace. Why are you dragging the dead? You are the one who first alleged that Mohbad was killed by some certain people, and you’re now making a U-turn.

Are you the one who will tell Nigerians who is good or not? We know people who are good people. We also know the people who bullied Mohbad. Stop deceiving Nigerians.”

Tonto Dikeh reacts to being dragged over late Mohbad’s controversy

Veteran actress, Tonto Dikeh reacts to being dragged into the justice for Mohbad controversy by Verydarkman and others.

It would be recalled that the activist, Verydarkman had shared new information regarding the Mohbad demise saga.

He had opined that a WhatsApp group was created by Iyabo Ojo, that contained Tonto Dikeh, Samklef and others.

Tonto Dikeh reacted to this by stating that she shall not be pulled into such matter.

She wrote …

“After four decades on this earth, I have made a conscious, unwavering choice: peace over disgrace.

I walk in perfect rhythm with **El-Roi—the God who sees me**the One who fights my battles in silence and secures my victories in full view.
Truth needs no defense; in His time, it shall be revealed, not by my hand, but by His divine orchestration.

I do not wrestle with mortals. My legacy is already speaking, and my seed shall echo my strength long after I am gone.
To those awaiting my fall into chaos, you clearly do not know WHO I AM ….NOR WHOSE I AM..

You do not know the joy I carry, a joy that is divine, untouchable, and irrevocable.
No man born of a woman can strip me of it.

I stand rooted, healed, and dangerously in love with myself. In this sacred space of self-love, I am both my sanctuary and my fire.
##excuse me to say FUCK YHE DEVIL
#ADAELROI
She who is seen, shielded, and unstoppable.”

Why Should I Fight For Mohbad When His Father Is Quiet – Samklef

Nigerian music producer, Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, has expressed frustration over the lack of appreciation from the music industry and the late singer, Mohbad’s family, for his efforts in seeking justice.

He questioned why he should seek justice for Mohbad when the deceased’s biological father had chosen to remain quiet.

He also dismissed allegations claiming that Verydarkman paid ₦20 million to obtain information about the controversial group chat, involving various celebrities that were allegedly linked to Mohbad’s death.

According to him, the leak came from someone inside the group.

He stated this in a recent video while addressing the ongoing feud between him and the social media activist.

Samklef said, “Verydarkman did not pay anybody 20million to get information regarding the group chat. He said that the person who leaked the chat was inside the group.

If the father of Mohbad is quiet, why should I be fighting? I don’t have any personal interest in this case. Why should I be crying more than the bereaved?

“How will you feel if you were in my shoes, where people are insulting you for having a genuine reason to fight for justice.

“I con sit down think about this whole thing, like why we Dey fight, even the family sef no appreciate wetin we dey do, the judiciary said Naira Marley and Sam Larry are free, did you see me online ranting or questioning that decision?

“The whole industry ganged up against me.”

Samkelf urged everyone involved in the case to cease fighting, emphasising that revenge would not bring solace to Mohbad’s soul as he is yet to be buried.

My brothers revenge is not a solution, because it will keep on dragging on, Mohbads’ soul is not at rest, everyone should cease fire and stop fighting,” the music producer added.

Mohbad: ‘Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, I Need You’ – Iyabo Ojo

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has urged Nigerian singers, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, to help new generational artistes avoid being exploited by record labels.

626Blaze reports that Iyabo Ojo made this known during a recent Instagram live session with fans, urging the musicians to join the ongoing campaign to get justice for their late colleague, Mohbad.

She explained that the late singer was inspired by them and other top artists to pursue a music career.

According to the thespian, the Nigerian music industry cannot afford to allow what legendary musicians, such as Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and 2Baba, went through in the hands of record label executives and the authorities to happen to the new generation of artistes.

Iyabo Ojo said it would be unfair if top artists fail to protect their younger colleagues who look up to them.

She said, “Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, I need you. These young boys, they come from the slums and ghettos just like most of you did, and they were inspired by you guys to become artists. And they have so much talent. Music is one of the talents that has put Nigeria on the map… These children are making us proud.

“Nigeria is blessed with talents, and we cannot allow any cult or anyone pull them down. We cannot allow anybody pull those children down because their music is what’s giving us joy… We will not allow what Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, and 2Baba went through in the hands of record label executives and the authorities to happen to new generational artists.”

Managing A Record Label Is Stress-Free Compared To Singing – Olamide

Nigerian singer, Olamide Baddo has shared that he finds it easier to manage a record label than to work as an artiste.

626Blaze reports that he spoke during a chat with YouTuber Korty EO.

The YBNL boss opened up about how his years as a musician have helped him understand and work better with the talents under his care.

According to him, being in the music industry has taught him how artistes think, act, and respond to the ups and downs of fame, money, and success.

The Metaverse crooner said that this deep understanding makes it less stressful for him to guide those signed to his label.

He said he knows when they are in a good creative space and when they are distracted, which helps him provide the right support.

He said: “It’s way much easier for me being a music executive than an artiste because I’m an artiste, so I understand the needs of creatives.

“I know the way we think, I know the way we see things. I know when we are in our element, when we want to run mad, when we’re getting high on our own supply, or high on fame, life, money, and success. So it’s easier for me to deal with creatives. I try not to bite more than I can chew.”

Olamide also addressed the constant debate on whether rappers should switch to singing, stating that he enjoys music as a whole and does not want to be boxed into one category.

Odumodublvck reveals when he’ll quit music

Odumodublvck, the Nigerian rapper, has revealed that he will step away from music once his “closest friends” achieve success in the industry.

The ‘Declan Rice’ hitmaker brought the revelation to light on Sunday in a post on X.

“Once all my nighas make it in music, I’m out,” the post reads.

While he didn’t specify which friends he was referring to, fans speculate he was talking about members of the Anti World Gangstars.

Anti World Gangstars is an Abuja-based rap collective known for their raw, gritty sound that mirrors the realities of street life.

The group comprises five rappers — Agunna, Fatboy E, Reeplay, Shagba, and Odumodublvck — along with their producer and sound engineer Cross.

Born Tochukwu Ojogwu, Odumodublvck is known for his unique stage performance and genre-mix style. In 2022, he signed a record deal with NATIVE Records, in partnership with Def Jam Recordings.

In the same year, he put out his first single titled ‘Picanto’ featuring ECko Miles and Zlatan Ibile.

The rapper also released ‘Declan Rice’ – a chart-topping single named after the English footballer. He has earned a plethora of nominations and awards for his craft.

However, Odumodublvck remains the only member of the group who has achieved global recognition in the music industry.
