Ubi Franklin Warns of Legal Action Over Alleged Cyberbullying Against Davido and Chioma Adeleke

Ubi Franklin, a music businessman, has issued a warning that those suspected of being involved in concerted internet attacks against artist Davido, his wife Chioma Adeleke, and members of the Adeleke family may face legal action.

In a series of posts on X on Tuesday, Franklin, the self-described manager of Chioma, implied that law authorities will soon take action against those responsible for what he called organized abuse and trolling.

“You are aware that individuals are wicked, correct? He wrote, “The message I see on this group chat is just,” alluding to offensive material purportedly sent at the pair in private discussions.

In a follow-up post, he issued a stronger warning: “One after the other, you will explain to the law enforcement what Chef Chi has done to all of you. Just keep opening groups to bully her.

“Her husband, me as her manager, and the entire family have your time now, and we will follow the rules, and you will be served.”

Franklin’s comments point to what he claims is a pattern of organised cyberbullying, allegedly carried out through multiple group chats and online communities.
He claims that the attacks involve persistent and deliberate attempts to harass Chioma, also referred to as Chef Chi, and those in her immediate vicinity, going beyond simple criticism.

Additionally, he called the behavior “outright bullying” and urged onlookers to call it that instead of writing it off as standard criticism of celebrities.

Chioma has frequently been at the centre of online scrutiny, largely due to her high-profile relationship with Davido.

Discussions about her on social media often include criticism of her fashion and public appearances, commentary on her lifestyle and brand as a celebrity chef, spillover from fan rivalries involving Davido and other artists, and renewed attention tied to Davido’s past personal controversies.

“My kids won’t go into entertainment industry”- Davido confesses, shares reasons

Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has revealed that he does not want any of his children to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

The singer made the disclosure during a viral interview on The Breakfast Club, where he spoke about his plans for his kids and his desire for them to have a more stable path in life.

Speaking during the interview, he said:

“I would prefer my kids to work with my dad instead of doing entertainment. Every Christmas, my dad takes all the grandkids with him. And I could just see that upon all the things he has, including multiple private jets and all that, his happiness is him seeing his grandchildren. And my father is single.

So I just saw his happiness and I’m like this is what life is all about. My dad not wanting me in the entertainment really killed my joy until he saw that this boy is really adamant about doing this. I wouldn’t want to do that to my kids as well.”

Davido explained that his decision is influenced by his personal struggles in the entertainment industry before his breakthrough, noting that he would prefer his children to work in his father, Adedeji Adeleke’s companies instead.

According to him, while he eventually followed his passion despite initial resistance from his father, he hopes to guide his children toward careers that offer more stability and less pressure.

The superstar, known for his deep love for his children, has once again shown his concern for their future and career choices.

I Was Tired, I Wanted More For Myself – Nigerian Singer, Liya Reveals Why She Left Davido’s Record Label (Video)

Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, who is popularly known as Liya, has revealed why she left Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).

Liya, who was the first female artist to sign with DMW in October 2020, said she exited the record label because she wanted more for herself.

The singer had announced her exit from the label in 2023 during an Instagram question-and-answer session.

Replying to a fan who asked if she was still with DMW, she wrote, “Nopee, but #30bg for lifee.

Speaking on a recent episode of Wahala with Josy Anne, the singer said leaving the label was not an easy decision.

“Why did I leave? I just wanted more for myself, as a person and as an artist. I wanted more for myself. It was sad, it was depressing, I was tired, I was sick, but it was a decision that I had to make for myself. Yeah, because everyone thought I had it all figured out,” she said.

Liya also said people judged her wrongly during that period and accused her of doing nothing.

“They called me names. People saying, Oh, she’s just lazy. She doesn’t know what she’s doing. They’re just pouring money on her, and she’s not doing anything for over a year or two years. They’d just be like, oh, yeah, you just don’t know what you’re doing. It was my fault,”she said.

She added that things got so bad that she stopped handling her Instagram posts by herself for about two or three years.

“And all that period, I just did not know how to post by myself. For the past two or three years. I never posted myself on Instagram. Yeah. I always have my manager post for me. I mean, we’ll put the pictures and stuff together, slides and everything. But then I just send everything to him. Oh, this is the first slide, second slide,” she said.

Liya, however, praised her manager for staying patient with her through it all.

“He was tired, but I’m so glad he understood. He was very patient with me. He never pushed me or forced me to post myself,” she added.

Why Davido Should Have Distributed N200m Birthday Donation To Music Legends – Singer Konga Speaks (Video)

Veteran singer Konga has expressed his disappointment over what he describes as the lack of support from the current generation of Nigerian artists toward industry legends.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Hits Don’t Lie podcast, the Kabakaba crooner said Davido should have supported Nigerian music legends with the N200 million birthday donations he received from his friends and fans in 2021.

Recall that Davido added N50 million of his own money, bringing the total to N250 million, which he donated to 292 orphanages across Nigeria.

However, Konga argued that it would have been better if he had used the funds to support struggling music legends, stressing that the funds could have rejuvenated their careers.

He said, “The present crops of Nigerian artists need to humble themselves. Nobody is dragging their money with them. But they have used peer pressure to chase a lot of Nigerian music legends into doing menial jobs abroad.

“If I were part of Davido’s management, one time his friends contributed money to him, I would have said – ‘Davido, carry this money, go and give it to all these legends… bring Baba Fryo back, bring Daddy Showkey. Give Daddy Showkey, Baba Fryo and others N5 million each.’

“If he had done that, the industry would have waken up. Our legends would have dropped a lot of comeback hits. Our music legends are running away due to lack of support. Look at Lord of Ajasa, is that a joke to you? And someone like Olamide will come out to say Wizkid is the greatest Nigerian artist internationally. Where is that coming from? We have been doing international shows for ages.

“You guys are only taking it forward from where we stopped. Fela, King Sunny Ade, Majek Fashek and others have been touring the world for years. Just because our achievements were not documented back then does not mean we did not do anything.”

Davido Reportedly Unfollows Dele Momodu On Instagram Over Comments Regarding Relationship With Sophia

Davido has reportedly unfollowed Dele Momodu on Instagram, sparking speculation about a possible rift between the Afrobeats star and the media personality.

This comes few hours after the publisher spoke about efforts to resolve the dispute between the singer and his niece, Sophia Momodu.

A check on Davido’s verified Instagram page on Wednesday showed that Momodu’s account was no longer listed among those he follows.

The development has sparked reactions online, especially as it comes shortly after Momodu addressed the ongoing issues between Davido and Sophia over their daughter, Imade Adeleke.

Momodu had shared that he received several appeals from fans during his visit to Liberia, urging him to help settle the rift between the former partners.

He stated that steps were being taken privately to find a peaceful solution and asked well-wishers to keep praying for the family.

Davido and Sophia have been involved in a long-running disagreement linked to the custody and upbringing of their daughter, Imade.

The matter previously went to court before the singer withdrew the case.
