2023 WWC: We’re Broke – NFF Gives Conditions To Pay Super Falcons Outstanding Monies

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has admitted that it has gone “broke”.

The NFF made this admission as their standoff with the women’s national team over outstanding monies continues.

The football house says it could only disburse the funds if they get additional payments from FIFA.

This was revealed by a former media officer of the Super Eagles, Colin Udoh, via his Twitter feed.

According to him, the NFF has already written to the federal government asking for funds to be approved.

Udoh wrote: “Late last week, I had a chat with NFF president @IbrahimMusaGus1. Among the many questions I asked him was the Super Falcons’ outstanding payments.

“He told me the NFF is flat broke, but would pay them from the federation share of the FIFA World Cup funds. He also mentioned that they had requested for funds from the FG, which had been approved, but had not been disbursed yet.

“Btw, anyone who has dealt with the Nigerian govt (state or FG) will know the term “approval is not the same as release”.

“I also spoke with another senior NFF official today after seeing the @FIFPRO statement. And he told me that their involvement changes nothing.

“The players would get paid their outstanding once either of those two monies come in first.

“He explained that the NFF had not received any funding since and their last payment from FIFA was used to settle part of the national teams’ coaches wages (Peseiro and Waldrum). And that the FIFA funds had already been earmarked for paying the players outstandings.”

Randy Waldrum and his ladies have been at odds with the NFF over unpaid salaries and bonuses.

This led to the global players’ union, FIFPRO, releasing a statement on Tuesday in solidarity. The body noted that “it is regrettable that players needed to challenge their own federation at such an important time.”

EPL: Supercomputer Predicts Positions Man Utd, Arsenal, City, Others Will Finish Next Season

The positions that some of the top clubs in the Premier League will finish next season have been predicted by a Supercomputer.

The 2023/24 Premier League season will commence next Friday, with Manchester City taking on Burnley.

Recall that Manchester City won the Premier League last season ahead of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Tottenham and others.

However, Bettingexperts’ Supercomputer has now predicted the campaign by taking a whole range of data and seeing where clubs finish.

It simulated the 2023/24 Premier League season out 100,000 times to find an average of where teams would most likely end up.

According to the Supercomputer, there will be a four-team title race including Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

But Pep Guardiola’s side will win the league again.

Man City are given a 68.7% chance to win the English top-flight league.

It predicted Arsenal to finish second with 13.2%, Liverpool in third place with 10.1% and Man United ranking in at 5%.

Liverpool’s Henderson Completes Move To Saudi Club Al-Ettifaq

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has signed for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
The announcement was made by both clubs announced on Thursday.
The England midfielder is the latest big-name player to move from the Premier League to Saudi Arabia after 12 years at Anfield.

“We can confirm @JHenderson has completed a transfer to Al-Ettifaq,” Liverpool said on their social media channels.
Al-Ettifaq posted: “A leader. A warrior. We’re simply thrilled to have him.”
The 33-year-old has finalised a deal with reported wages of up to £700,000-a-week.
Liverpool are due to receive an initial £12 million ($15.5 million) from the Saudi club.
“As his Anfield chapter now comes to a close, everyone at the club wishes to place on record their thanks and gratitude for everything Jordan did for us during his 12 years as a Red,”Liverpool said in a statement.
Henderson said his goodbyes to the club’s fans on Wednesday.
“It’s hard to put these last 12 years into words and it’s even harder to say goodbye,” he said in an Instagram post. “I will always be a Red. Until the day I die.

“Thank you for everything. You’ll never walk alone.”
Henderson led the Reds to their first English league title for 30 years in 2020, a year after lifting the Champions League.
The England international will be reunited with former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard, who is Al-Ettifaq manager.
Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 and succeeded Gerrard as skipper at Anfield in 2015.
France striker Karim Benzema quit Real Madrid to join Al-Ittihad, following his former Real team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr.
Other Premier League players who have moved to Saudi Arabia include Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
Henderson’s move has attracted criticism due to his long-time support of LGBT+ issues.
Saudi Arabia’s lavish spending on sport is often criticised as “sportswashing” — an attempt to shift the focus from its record on human rights.
The conservative monarchy executed 81 people in a single day last year, outlaws homosexuality and triggered international condemnation when journalist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.

How I Was Molested, Sent To Africa, Started Dealing Drugs – Dele Alli Reveals

Dele Alli, the Everton midfielder, made a startling revelation about himself.

He revealed that he was molested by one of his mother’s friends at the age of six.

Alli also said that he started dealing drugs as a teenager and was sent to Africa to learn discipline.

Speaking with Gary Neville on The Overlap, the former Tottenham Hotspur star gave an insight into some of the disturbing incidents that have affected both his life and career.

“[My childhood is] something I have not really spoken about that much, to be honest,” Alli said.

“So, at six, I was molested by my mum’s friend, who was at the house a lot. My mum was an alcoholic, and that happened at six.

“I was sent to Africa to learn discipline, and then I was sent back. At seven, I started smoking, eight I started dealing drugs.

“An older person told me that they would not stop a kid on a bike, so I rode around with my football, and then underneath, I would have the drugs, that was eight. Eleven, I was hung off a bridge by a guy from the next estate, a man.

“Twelve, I was adopted – and from then, it was like – I was adopted by an amazing family like I said, I could not have asked for better people to do what they would do for me.

“If God created people, it was them. They were amazing, and they have helped me a lot.

“I tried to be the best kid I could be for them. I stayed with them from 12 and then started playing first-team, professionally, at 16. It all sort of took off from there.”

Napoli President Sets €200m Price Tag On Osimhen, Says Only PSG Can Afford Him

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has placed a price-tag on Victor Osimhen.
According to him, the only club that can afford Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain.
According to him, Osimhen’s price is 200 million euros.
The striker is in negotiations to extend his contract and so far the Partenopei are resisting the idea of a release clause.
“The only club that can afford to take Osimhen away from us is Paris Saint-Germain,” De Laurentiis told Sport Mediaset.
“So if Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to take out 200 or so, then we will wait and evaluate.”
It is reported no clubs have been prepared to go over €100m so far, especially a concern because the asking price was believed to be in the region of €150m.
This evening, De Laurentiis revealed it is even higher than that and this is why he is confident the Nigeria international will remain this season.
The €200m price-tag would make Osimhen one of the most expensive signings of all time, but would be one of the options if Kylian Mbappe were to leave.
Still only 24 years of age, the Nigerian was Capocannoniere last term with 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances and helped Napoli win their first title in 33 years.
