Popular Nigerian singer, Spyro has spoken up on his childhood experience as the son of a pastor.
In a recent interview on the Just Chude podcast, he shared both the challenges and benefits of his strict religious upbringing.
Spryro described his childhood as difficult, with mandatory church attendance and Bible study sessions, which sometimes felt forced.
He recalled morning devotions being held at inconvenient times, leading to feelings of resentment towards God.
However, upon entering university, Spryro saw it as an opportunity for freedom and escape from his daily routine.
Despite this, he acknowledged the positive impact of his upbringing, crediting his parents’ teachings and fear of God for shaping his values and behavior.
Spryro emphasized that the fear of God has remained in him, influencing his decisions and actions even in his adult life.
He attributes his choices, such as not smoking or drinking, to this fear of God, which he believes has been beneficial to him.

Grammy winning British singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran has opened up on how being a musician affected his s3xual life.
The 33-year-old said he would have been a virgin if he wasn’t singing.
He stated this in a recent video message shared via his Instagram account.
“If I wasn’t a musician, I’d be a virgin,” he shared.
Sheeran’s first publicly known relationship was with Scottish singer, Nina Nesbitt in 2012.
Nesbitt is the subject of Sheeran’s songs ‘Nina’ and ‘Photograph’.
In 2014, Sheeran was in a relationship with Athina Andrelos but they broke up in February 2015.
She is the inspiration of his song ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
In July 2015, Sheeran began a relationship with childhood friend, Cherry Seaborn.
They announced their engagement in January 2018 and were married a year later.
Cherry is the inspiration of Sheeran’s song ‘Perfect’.
The couple welcomed their first daughter in 2020 and their second daughter on 19 May, 2022.
Toby Forge, one of the Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemates, has threatened to keep malice with fellow housemate, Kassia if he finds out that she is in a relationship with her husband, Kellyrae.
Recall that during their introduction at the launch event, Kassia and Kellyrae said although they’re married, they will keep it secret in the house.
He said he would be “pissed off” if he finds out that Kassia is actually in a relationship with husband and fellow housemate, Kellyrae.
He said he would be mad at the couple because Kassia is too beautiful to be hidden by any man, stressing that Kellyrae is in the house and has no reason to pretend.
Toby: “My mind is telling me there’s somebody outside. I’ve seen you and Kelly, that’s true friendship, but if it turns out to be Kelly, I’d be so angry.”
Kassia: “[laughs] Ah ahnn why?”
Toby: “I would be so pissed off that I might hate him sef, because there is no reason for him to pretend.”
Kassia: “Are you for real?”
Toby: “Yes, I might not talk to you again ever, it will be paining me, like nobody should hide you, I would never hide you.”
Kassia: “Why Kelly’s own pain you more than another guy outside?”
Toby: “Because he is here and he has every time and moment to show you that I don’t wanna hide, even if it’s a tactic….. You people behave so suspicious. The way you guys hug, the way you guys talk, it’s too suspicious.”
Kassia: “How do we talk? We barely even sit together.”
Toby: “Exactly but when you guys are in contact, you can know that there’s a strong bond there. I don’t know if it’s love or friendship but whatever bond it is, it’s very very distracting.
“So if it’s Kelly and you’re pretending, I won’t talk to you guys again.”
Yemi Alade, the popular Nigerian singer, is set to record and perform the theme song for the upcoming Lion Forge Entertainment’s Nigerian superhero animation ‘Iyanu’.
The singer announced this in a video message posted on the serial’s YouTube channel on Saturday.
She said: “Hello, everyone, my name is Yemi Alade. I’ve fantastic news for you today. I just want to share with you right now that I’ve been asked to sing the theme song for the incredible animated series ‘Iyanu’.
“Enjoy my song ‘Iyanu’ right now. This is a love message from me to you and I really hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.”
Steeped in Nigerian culture and mythology, ‘Iyanu’ is an adaptation of the popular graphic novel Iyanu: Child of Wonder by Nigerian creator and filmmaker Roye Okupe.
The main title theme song is a collaboration between Yemi Alade, Lion Forge Entertainment, Alcon Sleeping Giant, and Femi Agunbiade, the lead composer for the series.
‘Iyanu’ is scheduled to debut in the U.S. and across Africa in 2025. U.S. audiences can catch the series on Cartoon Network and Max, while it will be available in 44 African countries via Showmax.
The star-studded cast includes Serah Johnson as Iyanu, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Stella Damasus, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Shaffy Bello.
Yemi Alade has previously worked on Beyoncé’s ‘Lion King: The Gift’ album which was a theme album for the eponymous animated movie.
Whitemoney, the popular Nigerian reality TV star, has slammed his trolls on social media.

Habeeb Okikiola, the controversial singer, who is popularly known as Portable, has lamented that he didn’t receive any monetary reward despite supporting President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, he was “used” but he decided to be calm.
Speaking during a recent Instagram live session with fans, the ‘Zazu’ crooner claimed that “fighting” the government was a vain job, stressing that the government has nothing to lose.
He said: “I supported Tinubu but I didn’t get any money. I was used but I am calm.
“You’re k!lling yourselves in the name of fighting the government. The government has nothing to lose.”
Denilson Igwe, the popular comedian and skitmaker, has alleged that his colleague and former collaborator, Mark Angel, told people he was dead after their fallout.
He made the allegations while appearing on a recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast.
Igwe said, “He [Mark Angel] told people that I’ve died. There’s a video he made about it. He said, ‘Denilson don die o!’ When they asked him, he said I was dead.
“Someone even called me recently to confirm if I was dead. And I told him I’m still alive.”
Denilson Igwe also claimed that Mark’s other collaborators, Emmanuella and Success, would come on the show someday to share their “ordeals” in his hands.
Mark Angel is yet to react to the allegations.
