Ghana Has Shown Me More Love Than Nigeria – Oxlade

Afrobeat singer Oxlade has revealed why he has special love for Ghana.
According to him, Ghana showed him more love than his country, Nigeria.
This was obvious in his decision to feature Ghanaian hip-hop legend, Sarkodie on his debut album, “Oxlade from Africa.”
He said the collaboration is a testament to the warmth and appreciation he has received from Ghanaian fans.
In a recent interview, Oxlade expressed his gratitude for the Ghanaian music scene’s open arms, saying it’s a refreshing contrast to the challenges he faces in Nigeria.
He also clarified his earlier social media posts about “OGs” boycotting and blackmailing him.
According to Oxlade, his frustration stems from people trying to control his trajectory and “play god.”
He explained that some issues arise from non-music-related reasons, such as perceiving him as disrespectful or not greeting them properly.
Oxlade chose not to mention names or escalate the issue, opting instead to focus on his music.
“I hate the mindset of people trying to play god…When they feel like they can determine your trajectory.
 
“Sometimes, it’s because they feel I see them outside and I don’t greet them well”

Actress Bimbo Akintola Reveals Why She’s Still Unmarried at 54

Nollywood veteran, Bimbo Akintola has opened up on why she’s still unmarried at the age of fifty four.
She spoke during a recent interview with her colleague, Emmanuel Ehumadu.
Akintola disclosed that she’s still single because her soul mate died.
Host: “Are you married?”
Akintola: “No.”
Host: “Why?”
Akintola: “He died…The person wey me fit do forever for don die.”
Host: “So, you don’t think you can find another man?”
Akintola: “Do you know how long it took me to find him?”
She said she won’t allowed herself to be pressured into getting married just to please people.
She, however, clarified that she believes in the concept of marriage but hasn’t found the right man to settle with since losing her soul mate.

Court Orders VeryDarkMan to Pay Falanas N500m

The Lagos State High Court has ordered controversial social media critic Martin Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan to pay lawyer and human rights activist Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin N500m.
This is according to a report by Punch. The court also ordered him to immediately remove all defamatory videos against Falana and his son.
The report added that the court also ordered him to pay the substantial sum of N500 million to Femi Falana and his son, Folarin, as compensation for libel, as detailed in the pre-action bundle of the judgment.
This ruling comes as part of a legal response to the allegations made by Otse, which were deemed harmful to the reputations of both Falana and his son.
The judgement was delivered by Justice M. O. Dawodu in suit no: ID/8584/GCM/2024 on Tuesday
According to him, the publications made by VeryDarkMan on his social media accounts on September 24, 2024, linking Bobrisky to Falz and his father were defamatory and injurious to their public image.
Dawodu stated, “According to the applicants (Falz and Falana), the defendant (VeryDarkMan) knew these statements (Bobrisky’s claims) were false and untrue but proceeded to publish them to injure their reputation.
 
“Furthermore, the defamatory statements are still trending on the defendant (VeryDarkMan)’s several online platforms and the injury to their reputation continues as long as the publication remains online.”

Showcase Their Talents In Ways Appropriate For Their Respective Ages – Mr Macaroni Cautions Parents With Uniquely Gifted Children

Popular Nigerian content creator and activist, Debo Adedayo aka Mr Macaroni has taken to social media to caution parents with uniquely talented children.

In his post, Mr Macaroni asked parents to endeavour they showcase the talents of such children in ways that are appropriate to their respective ages.

He said he understands the urge to showcase gifted children but there is a need for parents to put the children first and also groom them properly.

He wrote;

‘’Dear parents and guardians,

I understand the urge to want to make the most out of our uniquely talented children.

I however strongly believe that we must apply caution while doing so.

We must showcase their talents in ways appropriate for their respective ages.

We must put our children first and groom them right.

That way, we are able to develop the durability and longevity of their talent as opposed to a short viral moment.

We owe them and our society that guidance.”

Burna Boy Becomes Nigerian Singer With Most Charting Songs in US Billboard History

Singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has reached a new milestone after displacing Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most charting songs in US Billboard Hot 100 history.
Burna achieved this feat after breaking a tie with Tems, with the debut of ‘We Pray’ by Cold Play featuring him, LittleSimz, Elyanna, and TiniStoessel, on the chart this week.
‘We Pray’ debuted at No. 87 on this week’s Hot 100, increasing Burna Boy’s entries on the chart to six.
Tems has five entries on the chart while Wizkid, who was the first Nigerian artist to debut, has 4 eateries.
Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Davido and Lojay have one entry each.
Burna Boy is one song away from breaking South Africa’s Seether’s record as the African artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 chart entries of all time.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Lola Idije has reacted to claims that actress, Biodun Okeowo snatched her daughter’s boyfriend.
A popular blog had claimed that actress Biodun popularly known as Omoborty’s husband was once in a romantic relationship with Lola Idije’s daughter before Okeowo snatched him from her.
However, Omoborty during an Instagram live session denied the allegation and noted her husband has never in any capacity been linked to Lola Idije’s daughter.
But despite Omoborty’s denial, the rumours refused to die down.
Reacting to the controversy, Lola Idije clarified that she and her daughters had no previous connection with the man.
In an Instagram post, Idije wrote; “Good evening Everyone, I want to address the story going around since yesterday and to clear the air.
 
“The first time I ever spoke to Omoborty’s husband was when she introduced him to me on a phone call, I did not know him before personally, None of my daughters know him.
 
“Omoborty didn’t snatch my daughter’s boyfriend, l attended their wedding, there is no way she would do such and I would attend the wedding. I hope this clarifies everything.”

“We know how much actresses earn from films, so I wonder if it’s from other businesses or family wealth.”

Akintola acknowledged rumours about actresses dating politicians or engaging in other lucrative ventures to support their lifestyles.

“We’ve heard stories, and we know these things happen,” she said.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the YBNL boss with his wife, Adebukunmi is seen posing with their daughter for a picture to mark the special occasion.

Taking to his Instagram page, the rapper wrote;

” he wrote.

Olamide and Adebukunmi are proud parents of three children— Batifeori Maximilliano Adedeji and Tunrepin Myles Adedeji, their two sons and daughter, Moririfunoluwa.

I Was Racially Abused in France – Singer, Oxlade

Nigerian musician, Ikuforiji Olaitan aka Oxlade has shared an experience how he suffered racial abuse in France.
He spoke when he appeared on a recent episode of ‘The Datebizz’ podcast.
The singer revealed that the experience inspired the title of his debut album, ‘Oxlade From Africa.’
“I decided to name my album ‘Oxlade From Africa’ because I was racially abused in France, precisely Monaco,” he recalled.
“That was what woke me up to be an African. It also made me realise that African stigma exists. In Africa, we see ourselves as normal human beings but outside Africa, they [foreigners] see us as monkeys, strange beings.”
Oxlade, a graduate of History and International Relations, also claimed that the names Africa and Nigeria are both derogatory.
