I Did Not Give Falz Or Falana Money For Pardon Nor Defame Them, VDM Should Take Responsibility For The Released Audio – Bobrisky

Popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky has blatantly denied claims that he gave money to the Falanas to help him secure presidential pardon while he was imprisoned for Naira abuse.

He stated this on his Instastories hours after the Falanas gave him 12 hours to apologize for the claims he reportedly made in a viral audio clip released by Verydarkman VDM last month.

Recall that VDM had released two audio clips purportedly of Bobrisky speaking to a man.  In one of the recordings, the person claimed to be Bobrisky said that he had spoken with Falz to request his help in convincing his father (Falana) to secure a presidential pardon, which allegedly involved a payment of N10 million. The person further claimed that he asked Falz for N3 million to ensure preferential treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

In another audio released by VeryDarkMan, the person claimed to be Bobrisky alleged he had paid N5 million upfront to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to obtain a Federal Government pardon for charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In the statement released in his Instagram page, Bobrisky insisted he is not the person in the viral audio clip. He said his lawyer will release a statement to this effect.

Falz Issues 12-Hour Ultimatum, Demand Apology From Bobrisky

Popular Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has issued a 12-hour ultimatum to cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, to immediately retract defamatory statements made against him and offer a public apology.

The warning was delivered through a letter dated October 14, 2024, and signed by Olorunfemi Akinyemi and Taiwo E. Olawanle, of Falana and Falana’s Chambers.

Falz’s legal team has demanded that Bobrisky not only retract the false claims but also publish a written apology on all platforms where the defamatory remarks were made. Failure to comply will lead to legal action, including a claim for damages.

The controversy arose after Bobrisky alleged that Falz had offered to secure a presidential pardon through his father, the renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Femi Falana, for N10 million.

Falz’s legal representatives firmly denied the accusation, revealing that Bobrisky had in fact approached Falz for financial assistance, which was declined.

In the letter titled, “Demand for Withdrawal and Retraction of Defamatory Statements against Mr. Folarin Falana (aka Falz),” the rapper accused Bobrisky of exploiting his recent imprisonment to defraud the public and make false claims about receiving legal help from Falz’s father.

The letter stated: “It is evident that you took advantage of your recent imprisonment to extort money from artists and the public.

“On May 4, 2024, you called Mr. Falz requesting financial assistance of N3 million for a special place in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, which was refused. You then falsely claimed in a video that Mr. Femi Falana had agreed to write a pardon letter for you.”

Falz’s lawyers also refuted additional claims made by Bobrisky that he had paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria to secure a pardon, labeling these statements as entirely fabricated.

Falz warned Bobrisky that if the retraction and apology are not issued within 12 hours, legal proceedings will commence, potentially resulting in significant financial damages.

In a related case, a Lagos State High Court recently ordered popular blogger Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory content about Falz from all social media platforms within 21 days.

The court also prohibited the blogger and his associates from further publishing any defamatory statements until legal proceedings have been resolved.

Why I Never Dated a Male Colleague – Actress Bimbo Akintola

Actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up on why she didn’t date a male colleague in the industry despite their advances.
She spoke during an interview with Labista.
Akintola revealed that the reason was because of her decision to separate her personal and professional life.
“No, I never dated any actor at any point in my career; I don’t like you people. I’ve never been attracted to an actor so to speak. All of you are my brothers, straight. It’s not about the kind of men I’m attached to; I just wasn’t attracted to people in the workplace.

“My frame of mind when I come to work is the frame of work of an actor who wants to be professional, so I don’t see you as dateable people, all of you. I don’t see it. We have handsome actors but I’ve never thought of dating any one of them…honestly. It doesn’t mean they didn’t toast me though”, she said.
The actress also addressed past controversies, including false claims about her personal life.
She shared that sensationalised stories, such as claims about her wardrobe choices, were fabricated to generate attention.
“When I first started, there was a lot of controversy and all sorts of things written about me; horrible stuff. There was a part where people were saying I don’t wear underwear. I think it is that news like that flies and sells so you have more traction and more people on the blog and people buying the papers. People want to read about funny things like that, it’s even better now, back then they used to cook up stories, all sorts of stories”, she said.

Speed Darlington Bows To Pressure, Apologises To Burna Boy

Controversial Nigerian singer, Darlington Achakpo aka Speed Darlington has tendered an apology to singer, Burna Boy.
He apologized to the Grammy winner following his release from police custody.
The apology was posted by the singer’s lawyer, Stan Alieke on his Instagram story.
In the statement, Alieke explained that Speed Darlington’s videos, which stirred controversy, were intended purely for entertainment, with no aim to defame or insult anyone. He also noted that Darlington is known for bringing joy to his audience, and his remarks were misinterpreted.
The statement read:
“PUBLIC STATEMENT.

Without prejudice.

Our client, having taken time to reflect on the events of the past few days, deems it necessary to release this statement through his legal representatives which shall therefore serve as his official statement and comment on the event.

l. Our client believes strongly in collaboration and healthy competition. He appreciates his colleague’s artistry and is confident that his colleague equally appreciates his craft. There have never been any prior discord or unresolved differences between them.

2. Our client whom many have come to know as a “joy-giver” made the video in question purely for laughs and for its entertainment value, with no intention to malign or defame. Our client was only exploring his comedic side, and while the content may have been interpreted as extreme, it was never meant to harm or put a stain on his colleague’s reputation. He did not foresee the level of public attention the video would attract.

3. Our client, who holds his mother in the highest regard, does not condone disrespect towards mothers or women in general. He therefore confided in us that the video which was said to have disrespected his colleague’s mom was a “misrepresentation of words” or a slip of the tongue. If any remarks made were perceived as disrespectful towards his colleague’s mother, such comments were unintended.

4. Our client having recognized his position as an influential member of the society and a role model has henceforth taken the responsibility to set a positive example. He does not condone the use of social media platforms to malign, defame and disrespect individuals and has committed to using his influence to foster peace and set a good example moving forward.

5. Finally, our client has privately reached out to his colleague and his team in the spirit of brotherhood and extension of an olive branch and to offer further clarification in person to him. This publication only serves as an official statement/ comment of our client on the event and should
not be mistaken as an admission of guilt (if there be any) and should therefore never be taken as such.

Lady Pens Lengthy, Touching Apology to Davido After Getting Blocked

A lady has tendered an apology to singer Davido after attacking him and his fans.
X user, @Ashabul_Jannaah had slammed the actor, labeling his music as trash. She also called the singer’s fans delusional.
She wrote:
“Don’t mind Davido, His music is painfully wack and his delusional fanbase only proves how blind they are. You’ve outgrown him in every way! No wonder he’s constantly trying to keep up with the REAL king!”
However, after Davido came across her comment, he blocked her on X.
Feeling remorseful for her words, she took to X page pen several threads-long apology, begging the singer to unblock her.
She wrote:
“Dear
@davido

I’ve been tossing and turning over this for days and I need to get this off my chest. I’m truly sorry for the comments I made under your posts. They were thoughtless and disrespectful and I completely understand why you chose to block me.

I never intended to hurt you or be offensive, but that’s exactly what happened. I thought I was just being playful, engaging in the kind of banter that often flies around here. But in hindsight, I see it for what it was: out of line and completely unnecessary.
I chased likes and retweets, using your posts as a stage for my own little show and that was wrong. My remarks about your wealth and integrity were low blows. I’ve come to realize how much hard work and heart you’ve put into your career and my words didn’t just miss the mark; they were off the chart.

I deeply regret my words. I’ve seen how your fans, the 30BG community, rallied around you. They didn’t just defend you; they showed me the real impact of my words. It was a harsh lesson that’s made me rethink how I’ll interact online. I’m also sorry to them for stirring up negativity.

OBO
@davido
, if you’re reading this, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve always admired your energy, success and spirit. Even if I didn’t show it in the best way, I’ve been a silent admirer.

I’m not asking for forgiveness right away or for you to unblock me immediately. But I hope, in time, you might see this as a genuine apology from someone who’s learned a tough lesson. I want to move forward, and be part of the 30BG community positively and support you the right way.

Sending you all the respect and love OBO.”
