APC Chieftain Predicts Tinubu Will Win All 36 States in 2027

President Bola Tinubu is expected to win all 36 states in the 2027 presidential election, according to Sen. Dayo Adeyeye, National Chairman of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), a political organization that is organizing grassroots support for the president.

Adeyeye made the claim on Tuesday in Osogbo during an event called “SWAGA 2.0,” which was organized to rally support for Tinubu’s reelection and Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun governor.

He attributed his confidence to what he described as the President’s outstanding performance in office, expressing strong belief that Tinubu would secure a second term and win across all 36 states in the 2027 presidential election on account of what he described as performance beyond expectations.

Adeyeye, who also serves as Board Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, said Tinubu had fulfilled the promises made by SWAGA ahead of the 2023 general election.

He recalled that when the group began mobilising support for Tinubu, they had assured Nigerians he would transform the country, pointing to the absence of strikes in tertiary institutions for four years as evidence.

Alongside what he described as an ongoing infrastructural revolution, including the construction of concrete roads designed to last up to 100 years and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.

He urged the electorate to support the APC governorship candidate in the August 15 election, maintaining that Oyebamiji remained the President’s preferred candidate.

In his remarks, Oyebamiji, represented by a former member of the Osun House of Assembly, Tunde Olatunji, said the APC was focused on governance rather than political confrontation, stressing that his interest was not in fighting anyone but in determinedly working to deliver better governance for the people of Osun.

He said his administration, if elected, would ensure the state remained on its current path of progress, adding that he would replicate key Federal Government development initiatives in Osun within six months of assuming office.

Also speaking, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, represented by the Osun State Ambassador of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Sunday Akere, appealed to residents across the state to participate actively in the election, urging voters across the 332 wards and 3,673 polling units in Osun State to turn out en masse on August 15 to vote for Oyebamiji and return the state to the progressive fold.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Hulayat Omidiran, described SWAGA 2.0 as a platform designed to deepen public engagement, strengthen democratic participation and ensure that the dividends of governance reach communities across the state.

Also, the Chairman of Media and Publicity of the APC Governorship Campaign Council, Remi Omowaiye, expressed confidence that the party would record a landslide victory, urging voters to turn out massively on election day.

16-Year-Old Lifeguard Risks His Life to Save Boy From Deadly Waves

The moment a 16-year-old hero lifeguard saved a young boy who was being carried away by strong waves was captured in breathtaking video.

The adolescent lifeguard, who has chosen to stay unknown, risked his own life to save the youngster who was being thrashed by the ocean currents on Saturday at Seabright Beach in California.

Photographer Scott Vander Dussen, who captured the courageous rescue, said in an online post that he was astounded by the lifeguard’s quick thinking, disclosing that the teenager is still in his first year on the job.

According to Vander Dussen, conditions on the water remained calm for most of the day until the current suddenly turned dangerous when a “sneaker wave” swept through and pounded the shoreline.

He recalled that the boy was instantly pulled out to sea, and that they subsequently spotted his head bobbing in the water roughly 200 metres from the beach.

The photographer said the lifeguard reacted swiftly, diving into the ocean and battling through the waves before successfully pulling the boy back to shore, describing the moment as unbelievable to witness.

Vander Dussen said he spoke with both the lifeguard and the boy once they were back on the beach, noting that the young lifeguard, after catching his breath, went right back to work for the rest of his shift.

He expressed relief that the boy escaped serious injury after being pulled from the dangerous currents, adding that the teenager was able to stand on his own shortly afterward and was examined by paramedics on the scene before being released to his relieved parents.

Footage of the dramatic rescue, captured by Vander Dussen, went viral online and drew millions of views, with many praising the 16-year-old lifeguard for what was widely seen as a life-saving act.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced plans to invite the lifeguard to the White House in recognition of his bravery, writing online:

“We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor. Very brave, he deserves it!”

Vander Dussen admitted he had feared the worst as the ordeal unfolded, but said he was grateful for what he called the teen lifeguard’s “absurd” display of heroism.

He said he lives just blocks from the beach and is familiar with the lifeguards there, describing the 16-year-old as a talented athlete who also excels at water polo, noting that this was his first year on lifeguard duty.

Although the lifeguard completed his shift that day, Vander Dussen said he had to be pulled off duty the following day after becoming something of a local celebrity, with many beachgoers eager to thank him in person.

With the young lifeguard now set to be honoured at the White House, Vander Dussen said he was simply glad the frightening episode ended on a positive note, expressing hope that the moment could be turned into something meaningful going forward.

LAWMA Gives Fresh Update on Lagos Waste Crisis

Residents were reassured yesterday by the Lagos State rubbish Management Authority, or LAWMA, that the state’s rubbish backlog would soon be eliminated.

This was said by Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, Managing Director of LAWMA, at the commissioning of the newly built disposal platforms and the renovated Road E at the Olusosun Disposal Facility in the Ojota region of the state.

Speaking to reporters during the event, Gbadegesin characterized the project as a strategic intervention intended to improve access to the disposal plant, remove operational bottlenecks, and boost the effectiveness of trash evacuation operations around Lagos.

He said the agency had earlier announced plans to wind down activities at the site within a stipulated timeframe, recalling that an 18-month deadline had been set from the time construction began on the transfer loading station.

According to him, what has now been achieved is the reclamation of a portion of the site to serve as a disposal point as operations there are phased out.

A development he said would help clear the backlog of waste currently littering the roads, noting that this was not something the agency wanted to see persist.

He explained that opening up the site had created additional disposal space, and expressed confidence that within a few days, refuse would no longer be seen littering the roads.

He stressed, however, that ridding Lagos of dirt ultimately depends on the willingness of residents to embrace collective responsibility, noting that if everyone in the state resolved to stop dumping waste indiscriminately, the problem would be solved.

He lamented that some residents still dump refuse on roads and medians instead of handing it over to their designated PSP operators or waiting for scheduled collection.

He added that residents experiencing delays in waste collection should reach out to LAWMA directly.

Reaffirming LAWMA’s commitment to continually improving its waste management services, Gbadegesin urged Lagosians to support  government efforts by patronising their assigned PSP operators, paying promptly for collection services, and desisting from indiscriminate refuse dumping.

Tinubu Aide Challenges Peter Obi Over 2023 Election Claims

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has been urged by President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, to give up hope that he will win the 2023 election after losing the elections.

Bayo Onanuga has said Peter Obi should stop living in denial, insisting that the former Anambra State governor came a distant third in the 2023 presidential election.

He was reacting to Obi’s recent television interview in which the Labour Party’s 2023 candidate claimed he had actually won the election but was rigged out.

In a signed statement, Onanuga described the interview as a public relations disaster for Obi.

He said two issues in particular stood out to him. First, when the interviewer questioned Obi over his political nomadism, Onanuga said Obi appeared dismissive of the question, likening his political journey to that of President Bola Tinubu.

Onanuga rejected the comparison, arguing that Tinubu, unlike Obi, has remained consistently within the progressive political fold since joining party politics in 1991/92, recalling that Tinubu began his political career with the Social Democratic Party, on whose platform he won a Senate seat with the highest number of votes recorded by any candidate in the country at the time.

On the second point, Onanuga said the interviewer had given Obi a clear opportunity to address the outcome of the 2023 election, but argued that Obi ultimately lost that election despite performing creditably as a politician without a formal structure in the states, relying instead on vocal support from followers on social media.

He expressed surprise that more than three years after the Supreme Court dismissed Obi’s petition, the former governor remains unwilling to accept the loss, continuing instead to hold on to the belief that he won, a sentiment Onanuga said Obi’s supporters online continue to echo.

He urged Obi to accept the reality of his defeat and stop insisting on a victory he said never happened.

Shatta Wale Reveals Why Friendship With Burna Boy Ended

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has claimed that his friendship with Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy fell apart after people allegedly spread false rumours that he had an affair with Burna Boy’s girlfriend during the singer’s visit to Ghana.

Speaking on a recent podcast session with TheHonestBunch, Shatta Wale said Burna Boy had personally called him before travelling to Ghana to request that he pick him up from the airport, a gesture he said he had never received from any other Nigerian artist.

According to him, he welcomed Burna Boy warmly, provided him with accommodation and vehicles, and ensured his comfort throughout his stay in the country.

He said he treated Burna Boy like royalty during the visit, showing him around Ghana and giving him a house and cars so that he would not have to spend money while there.

Shatta Wale alleged that after he parted ways with some members of his team, they began reaching out to influential people in his life with false accusations aimed at damaging his relationships.

He claimed that these individuals told Burna Boy he was sleeping with the girlfriend he had brought to Ghana, and that Burna Boy believed the claim.

He added that despite repeated attempts to reach Burna Boy after the singer’s career took off internationally, his calls and messages went unanswered.

He said he even reached out to Burna Boy’s mother, whom he described as being like a mother to him given how close they once were, but she only gave him excuses for why her son was not responding.

Shatta Wale said he later realised that the false claims had already reached them and that Burna Boy had decided to cut him off as a result.

He expressed gratitude that Burna Boy has found success, but said it pains him that the singer never gave him the chance to explain what his former associates had actually been doing.
