Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle nearly clashed with a member of the DR Congo staff following Nigeria’s penalty shootout loss last night.

DR Congo came back from a goal down to beat Nigeria 4-3 on penalties in a tightly-contested African play-offs final on Sunday, November 16, at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, picking Africa’s sole ticket for the intercontinental play-offs billed for March next year.

Before a final penalty, Chelle was seen attempting to start a fight with a member of the DR Congo staff. He had to be held back by some of his coaching crew.

During his post-match interview,  Éric Chelle stated that the reason for his anger was that the Democratic Republic of the Congo team was performing rituals on the sidelines during the penalty shootout to disrupt the game.

“Throughout every second of the penalty shootout, a member of the DR Congo team’s staff did some voodoo.

“This was the case for every penalty kick, and it made me feel very uncomfortable,” he said.

NYSC Releases Batch C Deployment Details For Prospective Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps has announced the deployment postings for prospective members of the 2025 Batch C.

The scheme announced this on Monday via its official X handle, confirming that call-up letters are now available.

It added that some prospective corps members posted to Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory have been assigned to undergo their orientation in neighbouring states.

According to the NYSC, “some prospective corps members deployed to Lagos have their orientation course in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun and Osun camps,” while “some deployed to FCT will be in Kaduna, Niger and Nasarawa camps.”

This development aligns with an earlier report by PUNCH Online, in which the NYSC stated that camp capacity constraints across the 36 states and the FCT mean that “only about 40 per cent of registered Prospective Corps Members can be accommodated for the upcoming orientation programme.”

The scheme also issued a travel advisory, stressing, “Prospective corps members are advised not to travel at night to the orientation camp.”

It further reminded PCMs to print and sign all required documents ahead of camp, noting that the forms must be submitted during registration at the orientation camp.

Last week, it was reported that the NYSC released call-up numbers for the 2025 Batch C stream.

Online registration opened on November 4 and was scheduled to run until November 9 for both locally trained and foreign-trained graduates.

The scheme also published its mobilisation timetable, indicating that pre-camp physical verification for foreign-trained graduates would hold from November 9–13, while ICT processing was scheduled for November 12–15.

Corps-producing institutions, it added, are to facilitate online printing and physical distribution of deployment and call-up letters between November 16 and 18, during which PCMs are expected to print their call-up letters.

You Never Called Me For Two Years, You Were Absent In My Toughest Moments – BBNaija Star, Imisi Drags Her Mother

Imisi Ayanwale, the Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, has issued a response to the allegations recently made by her mother.

The reality TV star raised questions about why the matter only surfaced after her rise to fame.

The issue began when her mother posted videos online, saying she had been abandoned and still lived in poor conditions despite Imisi’s N150 million win.

The videos, released on November 16, showed her mother expressing frustration and insisting she would not plead for help.

In her response shared on her Instagram page, Imisi stated that her mother was not involved in her life before her BBNaija victory, saying that long periods would pass without any contact.

She said the sudden public outburst shocked her because the relationship had always been strained.

Imisi explained that she has supported her mother over the years and had sent money even in the days leading up to the controversy.

She added that she cannot use her prize money for personal comfort of one person since many family members now depend on her.

She said: “Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life and you would not even call me in one or two years, so why is there a problem now?

“God knows I have tried. I still sent you money last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself?

“I cannot take N1 out of the money I won for anybody’s comfort. I have 100 people in the family looking up to me alone.

“You were absent during the toughest phases of my life.”

There’s Plenty Of Room In The Sky For Everyone – Olamide Replies Critics Over Afrobeats Ranking

Olamide, the Nigerian rapper, has responded to the widespread reactions sparked by his recent remark placing Wizkid as the leading Afrobeats artist after the late Fela Kuti.

The uproar began after Olamide made the remark during a press briefing in Toronto, Canada.

Fans of Burna Boy and Davido pushed back on social media and argued that their favourites also deserved top placement.

Reacting through his X handle, Olamide said people will always hold different views about music and artistes.

He said that the industry is wide enough for every artist to thrive, adding that music lovers are free to support whoever they choose without trying to downplay the work of others.

He explained that Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid have grown past taking offence at opinions about rankings, saying their success comes from focusing on their craft rather than arguments.

He wrote, “Honestly, this whole lengthy 3-way conversation is pretty much whatever. You can’t diminish anyone’s greatness, whether they’re A-list, B-list, or anything else. Feel free to believe what you want or support whoever you choose – there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.

“However, one thing to remember is that Burna, David, and Wiz aren’t narrow-minded enough to get offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That’s part of why they’ve reached where they are today.”
