Paris Saint-Germain have received a significant fitness uplift ahead of their upcoming Champions League final against Arsenal later this month.

The French Ligue 1 giants secured their spot in the final after eliminating Bayern Munich in the semi-final stage, and will now face Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest.

In a boost to their preparations, PSG announced on Tuesday that right-back Achraf Hakimi has returned to training.

The Moroccan international had been kept out of action due to a thigh injury picked up during the first leg of the semi-final clash against Bayern Munich.

Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke Marks 66th Birthday as Supporters Highlight Achievements

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke marks his 66th birthday today, and the occasion has drawn warm tributes celebrating what supporters describe as a transformative period for the state.

Since taking office, Adeleke’s administration is credited with reversing years of stagnation and delivering measurable progress across several sectors.

In healthcare, the state has won back-to-back national awards carrying a combined prize of $1 million.

In education, Osun climbed from 36th place in national examination rankings in 2022 to 7th place in both 2024 and 2025. On the fiscal side, the administration has cut the state’s inherited debt by more than 40 percent while growing internally generated revenue by over 120 percent within three years.

Infrastructure development has been another major focus, with over 300 kilometres of internal roads delivered and major road dualization projects completed across Osogbo, Ilesha, Ile-Ife, Iwo, Ido Osun, Ila, and Ede, among others.

Modern flyovers have also been constructed at Oke Fia and Lameco in Osogbo, and at Lagere in Ile-Ife.

In agriculture, the state has shifted from small-scale subsistence farming to mechanised agriculture through the procurement of modern equipment, distribution of improved seedlings, and financial support for farmers.

The technology sector has equally received attention, with the domestication of the Nigeria Startup Act, the launch of an Osun ICT policy, and the constitution of a Tech Advisory Council drawing professionals from across Nigeria and beyond.

As he turns 66, supporters are calling for his administration to continue into another term, expressing confidence that the progress recorded so far is only the beginning.

Joeboy Highlights Ego Issues Affecting Music Collaborations in Afrobeats Industry

Afrobeats artist Joeboy has spoken out about what he sees as a growing ego problem undermining collaboration among Nigerian musicians.

In a recent interview on Cool FM Lagos, alongside fellow artist Wizkid Chan, he observed that some artists enter collaborative projects with a competitive attitude, more focused on upstaging their partner than creating something great together.

Joeboy said he deliberately chooses to work with people he already has a genuine friendship or rapport with, as it eliminates the tension that ego can bring.

He added that when he features another artist on a song, his expectation is actually for that artist to shine because that is precisely the point of bringing them on board.

Wizkid Chan echoed similar sentiments, describing ego as his biggest frustration with collaborations.

He said his personal approach is to give his collaborators full creative freedom when recording, and he expects the same courtesy in return.

According to him, some artists overstep by trying to direct how their collaborators should perform, which he finds counterproductive.

He stressed that the whole purpose of featuring someone is to bring a different dimension to a track something the other artist can do that you cannot and that it should never be treated as a competition.

He also pointed out that some artists go as far as rewriting their own verses after hearing a collaborator’s contribution, simply because they feel outdone, which he described as entirely missing the spirit of what collaboration is meant to be.

Blessing CEO Reacts to Alex Ekubo’s Death Amid Controversial Cancer Claims

Blessing CEO, the self-styled relationship commentator known for her controversial public statements, has spoken out following the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, who passed away in a Lagos hospital on Monday after a private battle with stage 4 liver cancer.

In an emotional tribute shared on her Instagram page alongside a photo of the late actor, she expressed grief over his passing, lamenting that he had fought his illness quietly and out of public view.

Her reaction, however, drew attention partly because of her own recent and highly contentious cancer claims. In March 2026, Blessing CEO had appealed to the public for financial assistance to fund chemotherapy for what she described as stage 4 breast cancer.

The claim quickly unravelled when the Nigerian Medical Association’s Delta State chapter alleged that a medical report she presented to support her story had been tampered with, suggesting it was actually another patient’s record from Xinus Medical Diagnostics, bearing the signature of consultant pathologist Dr. O.A. Odigwe.

The fallout from those allegations prompted social media activist VeryDarkMan to file a petition that was subsequently approved by the Inspector-General of Police, calling for a formal investigation into the matter.

President Tinubu Approves Nigeria to Host CAF Awards and CAF General Assembly

President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for Nigeria to host two major continental football events, the 48th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football and this year’s CAF Awards Ceremony.

The approval was granted on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, after Tinubu held talks with CAF President Patrice Motsepe.

The meeting also brought together Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, CAF President’s Special Adviser and former NFF boss Amaju Pinnick, and CAF’s Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu.

The General Assembly, which is pencilled in for October, stands as one of the most significant gatherings in African football.

It brings together the presidents of all 54 CAF member associations, representatives from the continent’s six regional football bodies, and other top football administrators to discuss and decide on matters shaping the future of the game across Africa.

The CAF Awards, which Nigeria will also be hosting, is widely regarded as African football’s premier annual celebration, recognising exceptional players, coaches, teams, and other notable figures who have made their mark on the continent’s football landscape.

Governor Alia Sends Strong Warning Ahead of 2027 Elections in Vandeikya

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia recently delivered a political speech in his home local government area of Vandeikya, where he described himself as a man of action rather than words.

In the roughly 20-minute address, he made it clear that he prefers to let his deeds speak for themselves rather than making long public statements.

The governor also issued a veiled warning to certain individuals who, according to him, are enjoying particular benefits while allegedly working against the interests of the Vandeikya community as the 2027 elections approach.

Although he stopped short of naming anyone directly, the message was pointed enough to spark debate online, with his supporters and critics drawing different conclusions about who exactly he was referring to.

The speech comes at a time when political activity is quietly picking up steam across Benue State, as various groups begin positioning themselves ahead of the next general election cycle.

Real Madrid Target Osimhen as Mourinho Sets Conditions for Bernabeu Return

Real Madrid have reportedly added Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen to their list of transfer targets for the summer, as the club moves closer to bringing Jose Mourinho in as their new manager.

The Spanish club is gearing up for a significant squad overhaul following a difficult season, with Mourinho said to have already earmarked the Nigerian striker as his preferred attacking option.

Mourinho’s interest in Osimhen is not new the two were acquainted during their time in Italian football, when Osimhen was at Napoli and Mourinho led Roma.

The manager has previously drawn comparisons between the striker and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, a player he signed during his time at Stamford Bridge.

From Madrid’s perspective, signing Osimhen would give Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. more room to thrive, particularly in situations involving aerial play.

On the managerial front, discussions between Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes and Real Madrid’s leadership are already underway, though serious negotiations are expected to pick up only after the football seasons in Spain and Portugal conclude. Mourinho, currently managing Benfica, is reportedly open to returning to the Bernabeu, but has set two clear conditions.

First, he wants a meaningful say in transfer decisions, similar to the influence he had during his first stint at the club, when he helped bring in the likes of Luka Modric, Mesut Ozil, and Sami Khedira.

Second, he is demanding that the coaching staff be given full independence, with no external interference in the running of the team a stance shaped by what happened with Vinicius Jr. and former coach Xabi Alonso.

Messi Remains MLS Highest-Paid Star After New Inter Miami Deal

Lionel Messi continues to sit comfortably at the top of the MLS pay scale following a new contract extension with Inter Miami CF.

Data released by the MLS Players Association shows that the Argentine captain takes home a base salary of $25 million per year, which is more than twice what any other player in the league earns.

His total guaranteed earnings are reported to reach around $28.3 million annually.

Messi, now 38, agreed to the extension back in October, further solidifying his position as the biggest name in American soccer since he made the move to the United States in 2023.

In second place on the salary list is former Tottenham winger Son Heung-min, earning a base of $11.2 million, with Rodrigo De Paul and Hirving Lozano also featuring among the league’s top earners.

It is worth noting that the published figures do not cover Messi’s endorsement income or his option to acquire an ownership stake in Inter Miami, the club partly owned by David Beckham.

Since arriving in Florida, Messi has had a transformative effect on the league’s international standing.

On the pitch, he has been equally impressive, scoring 59 goals in 64 regular-season games, claiming the golden boot last season with 29 goals, and playing a central role in Inter Miami’s MLS Cup triumph in 2025.
