Musicians Should Caution Fans Over Instigating Feuds Against OGs – Rema

Popular Nigerian singer, Rema has urged musicians to stop their fans when they instigate them against senior colleagues called OGs of the industry.
OG stands for ‘Original Gangster’, an internet slang used to describe an extraordinary person. The term describes someone considered a pioneer or leader in a particular field.
Reacting in a recent interview, the Afrorave pioneer, who was asked to clarify his alleged beef with Davido, explained nothing like that existed.
He referred to Davido as an OG, stating he never disrespects him or the others.
While speaking, the ‘Calm Down” smash hit maker made it known that it doesn’t ever augur well with him whenever his fans tried to pit him against any OG.
He explained: “I have so much respect for the OGs in the game and I don’t like my fans comparing & trying to put me against them. 
 
“The peace among Afrobeats artistes is one of the reasons why the genre is where it is today.” 
 
“I always caution my fans when I see them comparing me to my Big Bros and I expect every artiste to do same when they see their fans trying to spark up problematic conversations,” he added.

I Was Expelled From University In My 3rd year – BBTitans Yvonne

BBTitans housemate, Yvonne Godswill has disclosed that she was expelled from the university in her third year.

She said after her rustication she had to rewrite JAMB and apply for another university to start all over again.

The TV Reality star was featured in a recent interview with media personality, Hero Daniels.

She said, “I was involved in a fight. It was a messy situation. And I was in my third year. Not like it was an academic issue so you can imagine that kind of clumsy stup*d thing that will get you kicked out of school.

“My mom was so mad at me. She just like ‘You’ve joined bad gang.’ It was crazy! I did deliverance [in the church] because she thought something was wrong with me.

“Just my dad understood. You know lion no dey born goat. He was like ‘What’s your plan?’. I was like ‘I want to go back to school’. He was like ‘okay’. I had to write JAMB because I was rusticated. So, I had to like start all over again.”

She said by the time she got admitted into the new school, her coursemates at her former school already graduated.

“By the time I got into year one, my mates [at my former school] had graduated. I was sad. I was depressed. I was so bad that the next school I got to I couldn’t really bond with people because I felt like I was the mama of the class. I’m like three to four years older than the people in my class.”

Yvonne added that she would have bought a certificate but she wanted to experience school life.

Dino Melaye Is Not Fit, Competent To Be Kogi Governor – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has stated that his party member, Dino Melaye is not fit to be the governor of Kogi state.

According to him, Melaye doesn’t have the competence to governor the state.

Wike stated this during a media chat on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Recall the screening committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had cleared Melaye, Reuben Atabo (SAN), and eight others as aspirants for its ticket in the forthcoming Kogi State governorship election.

The others are Engr. Musa Wada, Sen. Atai Aidoko Ali, Barr. Mohammed Kabiru Usman, Abayomi Awoniyi, Bolufemi Olarotimi, Abdullahi Haruna (SAN), Gideon Ojata and Idoko Kingsley Ilonah.

Wike stated that the former Kogi West lawmaker is not worthy to be the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming election.

According to the governor, Melaye is an “actor” and does not have any qualities to lead the people of the North Central State.

I Feel Like I’m Letting My Fans Down – Simi Speaks On Delayed Album Release

Nigerian singer/songwriter, Simi has urged her fans to exercise patience while she prepares for the release of her next album because she wants it to be the best.

She explained that she had three plans, but life intervened and caused them to fail.

She also admitted that she doesn’t want to release substandard music, as she often ends up disliking or regretting it when she does so under time pressure.

Simi went on to reassure her supporters that her album this year would be the one they needed.

“Army asking me when I’m dropping new new. I feel like I’m letting y’all down 😣 I had a plan. Actually like 3 plans – but life will life and you roll with the punches. And I don’t want to give you rubbish stuff.

“Just know My album this year will be the album you need from me. Everytime I’ve dropped a song because “time” – I’ve ended up not liking the song or regretting it lol. I’m not doing that anymore. Be patient with me.

“I think I’m just qoing to drop an album instead of singles actually. Maybe one single just right before.” She wrote.

Don Jazzy Gives Twitter User N1M For Accommodation

Ace Nigerian producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, Popularly known as Don Jazzy, sent the sum of N1M to a Twitter user for accommodation.

The Twitter user took to the microblogging platform to reveal that he lives in a kiosk which is affecting her baby’s health while seeking financial help from the singer.

The MAVIN boss saw the message and sent the sum of N1M to the Twitter user to sort out the accommodation.

Don Jazzy also sent another Twitter user N250K to purchase a Canon camera for his business.

The user wrote:

“@DONJAZZY baba plz i need accomodation, we’re living in a kiosk, because we financial problems. But the midnight weather is affecting my baby seriously. Hope I didn’t ask for too much Sir. I will be glad to hear from you u “

In a shocking remark, Don Jazzy replied, stating that he was sorry about his predicament, and that he has sent him N1M.

Jazzy also sent another Twitter user N250K to purchase a Canon camera for his business.

Why I’m Quitting Comedy – Basketmouth

Ace comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth has opened up about quitting comedy to build his own industry.

He explained that he did not plan to become a comedian as he initially started with rap and then moved on to drums and music.

He realized that he had inadvertently become a comedian and decided to build his own industry.

Basketmouth mentioned that he had already delved into other areas such as movies and music concerts, and had stopped doing stand-up comedy and event anchoring six years ago.

He plans to retire from comedy in five years to pursue his dream of building his own industry.

He said: “When I started comedy, when I start my career na rap I start with. Then I started playing drums. From drums, music come dey improve small small. My first music wey I produced na like in 1995.

“That was the time I tried to blend hip-hop and afrobeats. But we no sabi do am so e no too work. But we tried.

“When I come discover say I dey do comedy na by chance. I no plan comedy because comedy just dey. But when I come dey see everything, I come say ‘okay Bright, you need to start designing how you want do this thing (comedy).

“My intention na to build my own industry. I no wan dey part of the industry per se. Which is why, if you notice over time, I don put head inside sitcoms. I don put head inside movies. I’m working on a movie right now. I don do music concerts. I dey do comedy shows. I see say I don dey touch everywhere. I don release album.”

“Then e reach one point, I tire. I say ‘this is not honest’ because e no sweet. What I was blessed with was the talent of being a stand-up comedian. I no be MC. Na IK dem, all those people, dem be MCs. We come force ourselves. E reach one point I say I no dey do again. Six years ago, I come dey run away from MC events.

“As I come resumed (MC), I resumed this year fully. I come say ‘Bright, you no go fit run five years, you no go fit run the rest of your life doing comedy so put your time frame to five years so you can have time to do it. E fit no even reach five years. So you go fit get time to focus on other things’.”

Basketmouth added: “To be honest, I feel say I don build the foundation for everything wey I want do. No be where I want dey be this o. There’s a plan but I need to do all these things.”
