“I’m a very wise woman, I know when to fight” — Iyabo Ojo slams Verydarkman

Actress Iyabo Ojo has responded fiercely to claims made by social media activist Verydarkman, who alleged she backed out of an agreement to publicly apologise to Naira Marley and Sam Larry.

Her rebuttal comes hours after Verydarkman shared details of a roundtable discussion at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF NCCC) held with Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, and their legal teams, claiming Iyabo had promised to apologise publicly for accusing Naira Marley and Sam Larry of involvement in Mohbad’s death but later reneged.

In a new live TikTok session, Iyabo dismissed Verydarkman’s narrative as manipulative and dishonest, calling him “corny” and “deceitful.”

“So you had to come out and do your normal manipulating tactic. I’m a very wise woman. I’m not like you that’s very deceitful and corny. You’ve tried in all your might to bring me down, but you cannot,”she said.

Iyabo defended her actions, stating she had genuine reasons to speak out at the time. She explained that her reaction was driven by disturbing videos and online reports that emerged after Mohbad died in 2023.

“I used to promote Naira Marley’s songs until Mohbad died. I saw a video of Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad’s death, I was angry,” she stated.

She went further to describe seeing videos of Sam Larry allegedly mocking the late singer and others showing physical assault, which she said compelled her to believe the bullying accusations.

“I saw Sam Larry’s video where he accosted Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad; that was when I believed the bullying allegation. As a concerned citizen and a mother, I used my platforms,” she explained.

“Name the Killer Or Face The Law” — Mohbad’s Brother Warns Verydarkman Over Prolonged Claims

Adura, brother of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has fired a stern warning at social media influencer Verydarkman, demanding an end to what he described as a prolonged and unsubstantiated investigation into the circumstances of the singer’s tragic death.

Taking to Instagram, Adura expressed growing frustration over Verydarkman’s recent online commentary, particularly concerning a leaked WhatsApp group chat that has revived speculation about Mohbad’s demise. According to Adura, the influencer’s suggestive remarks have generated intense public suspense without offering any concrete revelations.

In his post, Adura accused Verydarkman of playing to the gallery by raising public hopes without backing his claims with facts or evidence. He threatened legal action if the online activist fails to substantiate his accusations or reveal clear findings about what allegedly led to Mohbad’s death.

Quote
“Someone tell that prose narrator there’s already public suspense and he must finish the prose,”

Adura wrote.

Quote
“Even I am waiting for the epilogue, because he already raised my hope that he’s going to show us what killed my brother Moh inside the house—something that was hidden even from me.”

He further clarified that he had already given his full account to the Nigeria Police Force and the coroner handling the case, and stressed that the burden now lies on Verydarkman to provide clarity or stop fueling public confusion.

Quote
“But this sudden online witness, investigator, prosecutor, and magistrate combined must help us with what happened beyond our own knowledge,”

Adura continued.

Quote
“If he doesn’t explain it to the public, the way he stirred emotions and set minds against me, then he will explain it to a court someday!”

The latest outburst underscores the ongoing tension surrounding Mohbad’s controversial death, which continues to attract public interest nearly a year after the incident. As calls for justice persist, the family appears increasingly intolerant of speculation they believe may deepen their grief or mislead the public.

Your Unresolved Trauma Has Turned You Into A Manipulative And Toxic Person, I Pray You Find Peace – Iyabo Ojo Slams VDM

Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo has lambasted social media critic, Martins Otse aka VeryDarkMan after he made damning allegations against her in a viral video, including claims of infidelity and accepting bribes.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Iyabo Ojo expressed sympathy for VDM’s troubled childhood, which she believes has contributed to his toxic behavior.

She noted that VDM’s parents failed to provide him with a stable and loving environment, leading to unresolved anger and pain.

Iyabo Ojo questioned VDM’s mother’s parenting decisions, wondering why she allowed her child to fend for himself at a young age.

She also accused VDM’s mother of being dependent on her ex-husband and failing to provide for her children.

The actress urged VDM to forgive his parents and find peace, rather than directing his anger towards innocent people.

Iyabo Ojo’s response comes after VDM made several allegations against her, including claims that she had a threesome with her daughter and accepted N65 million to seek justice for the late singer Mohbad.

She wrote:

“Vincent, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of your behavior, and it’s quite sad. It seems like your upbringing lacked love, care, and stability. Your toxic narcissistic behavior stems from unresolved anger and pain caused by your parents’ failure to provide a nurturing environment.

“Instead of directing your anger toward those responsible, you’ve chosen to attack successful men and women. Listening to your story, it’s clear that you faced a lot of hardships, including stealing food to survive and almost being lynched as a child. Why would your mother let that happen? Mama Vincent, why didn’t you do more to provide stability for your child?

“Vincent, your unresolved trauma has turned you into a manipulative, deceitful, and toxic person who tarnishes reputations for relevance. Your anger is misplaced—your parents are to blame, not Paulo, Mama Festus, Priscilla, or me.

“Your obsession with me shows that my name lives rent-free in your head. If it helps you sleep better, continue. But I urge you to forgive your parents and free your heart from hate. Only then will you find peace.”

Court Adjourns Falana’s Suit Against Verydarkman Till Next Year

The defamation suit against social media influencer, Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, VDM has been adjourned till January 23, 2025.
The suit was adjourned on Thursday by a Lagos High Court.
The defamation suit was brought against VDM by human rights activist, Femi Falana and his son, Folarin, popularly known as Falz.
Recall that VDM had arrived in court dressed in a red native attire, surrounded by fans cheering him on, but the Falanas were absent.
It was gathered that the case could not proceed because most of the applications filed by the parties are not yet in the court file. The court had to adjourn the hearing to January 23, 2025.
Recall that on October 14, Justice Matthias Dawodu while ruling on an exparte application for an order of interim and preemptive remedy brought by the Falanas, held that they have legal rights to be protected from being slandered.
The court also ordered VDM to bring down the alleged defamatory video that he made on September 24, 2025, against the SAN and his son.
Justice Dawodu also restrained the self-acclaimed social media police from further releasing, publishing, or circulating any defamatory videos and comments against the senior lawyer and his son on all his online social media handles and pages pending the hearing of the suit filed by the duo.
The judge further ordered that all the processes in the matter be served on VeryDarkMan through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
The Falanas had dragged the defendant before the court in separate suits, claiming N500 million each as damages over a video he posted on his social media platforms alleging that they collected N10 million from Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, to pervert the course of justice.
In their suits, the father and son submitted that the defendant knew all his comments were unverified and not true, yet he proceeded to publish the same to injure their reputation recklessly.
They also stated that the alleged defamatory publication is still trending on the defendant’s online handles and pages and as such, the injury to their reputation continues as long as the publication remains online.
In response, VDM applied to the court for leave to appeal the ruling.
He also submitted that a refusal by the court would amount to miscarriage of justice, as the case involves significant legal questions that merit further review.
He stated, “A refusal to grant leave may result in the enforcement of a decision that does not reflect a correct application of the law, leading to outcomes that may be detrimental not only to the parties involved but also to the administration of justice as a whole.

“The appellate court’s role in clarifying and, where necessary, correcting trial court decisions are vital in maintaining the integrity of the judicial system.”
