In the intriguing teaser, the gifted singer made digs at his estranged record company.
Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, is a popular Nigerian rapper and singer. He has teased a new song called “tiff,” which could be a diss track for his estranged record company Marlian Music.
Through the record label’s owner, Naira Marley, the powerful street-hop artist and rapper recently gave notice of termination for alleged unpaid royalties over a three-year period and physical assault.
Mohbad provided a preview of his next single “Tiff” on November 6, 2022, even though nothing official has been said since the announcement. In the song, Mohbad, an abstract interpretation of the word “thief,” made fun of Marlian Music, Naira Marley, and possibly even label signees Zinoleesky and C-Blvck.
The album features a well-balanced mix of domestic and foreign celebrities thanks to the Afrobeats superstar.
Ayodeji Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, is a multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, and performer from Nigeria. Wizkid has announced the official release date of his next album, which is rumored to feature Travis Scott, Lauryn Hill, and other big names.
The renowned singer, whose highly anticipated fifth studio album, “More Love, Less Ego,” a follow-up to the critically acclaimed and commercially successful “Made in Lagos,” is set for release on November 6, 2022, has already given his fans a preview of the album with the singles “Bad To Me” and “Money & Love.”
The official tracklist and guests of the album have been made public by American digital media business Genius, which operates Genius Lyrics, widely considered as the world’s largest library of song lyrics and musical knowledge platform.
Heavy hitters including Lauryn Hill, Ayra Starr, Naira Marley, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and Buju Banton will be included on the 14-track album, according to the press release.
Mohbad, a musician, and his assistant Oreoluwa Oladapo have been admitted to the hospital following an alleged attack by Naira Marley, the head of his record label.
On Wednesday, October 5, Oreoluwa uploaded footage to Twitter showing his damaged body and Mohbad.
He wrote: “If I die, the whole of marlians music individuals(naira Marley and his boiz)should be held responsible. Look how my brothers and I were treated without even engaging in any physical fight with any of the marlian music people. I was dragged naked on the road and naira Marley did nothing about it, I lost some of my valuables.
In another post, Oreoluwa claimed he has been receiving threat messages.
He wrote: “I’m getting threatening messages. I no fear to die o. God na im give person life. I was stripped naked on the streets like a dog or a thief. Me wey no touch anything just apologising.”
Recall that during his ordeal with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in February 2022, Mohbad whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji raised an alarm over an alleged threat to his life by Naira Marley and others.
In a video that circulated on the internet on Friday, February 25, the Naira Marley’s associate could be heard lamenting and calling out the names of his colleagues saying they want to kill him.
“I don’t know why these individuals have been attempting to kill me. They have been badmouthing me and doing bad things to me. Everyone on earth, please aid me!
“Naira Marley will kill me if I pass away like this na Marlian song.” Never, ever will my God screw me over. I have no faith in anyone. He declared, “I’m going to the hospital.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) detained Mohbad and another artist, Zinoleesky, for possession of illegal narcotics.
The new Wizkid age has begun, and because I don’t know how to act at the moment, you’ll have to call me Gal Gadot. Nearly two years after releasing Made in Lagos, his best album to date, Wizkid is getting ready to release More Love Less Ego (#MLLE), and the streets are going crazy.
Here is all the hot tea I’ve been able to gather from those who attended the Grammy Award winner’s recent performance in London where he previewed songs from the album (Ayodeji, Lizzie’s body is not even cold yet).
There is an Ayra Starr feature that will chokehold everyone.
When Ayra Starr said, “E dey rush,” she wasn’t playing because, omo, her cup had transformed into a swimming pool. Ayra is reportedly on a hot track off of #MLLE, according to information reaching us from the late Queen Lizzie’s compound only hours after she released the remix to Bloody Samaritan with THEE Kelly Rowland.
Do you recall how Tems became a worldwide sensation thanks to Essence? Ayra Starr appears to be in her emi lo kan era.
This record probably will make you conceive.
Why do artists seem to want to make everyone pregnant? We first heard CKay’s Sad Romance, and now we’re hearing that #MLLE is jam-packed with music that makes babies. Cerelac is pricey, my dears. Be careful how you act this winter.
Beware of the song “Balance.” I understand why.
People who were fortunate enough to watch Wizkid perform have been raving about a song called Balance. Balance might become a hit before it even leaves Wizkid’s memory card, which is unusual for a track to do. Things are currently going well for Balance.
Wizkid’s song featuring Naira Marley? O por
Rise up, Martian people, and stop wasting your master’s labor. I don’t know why this collaboration didn’t happen earlier, but Wizkid’s #MLLE is scheduled to feature the one and only Naira Marley. I already have this song at the top of my Detty December playlist, so you better believe it.
Rumor has it that the album will be released on October 29, 2022.
On the album, Travis Scott is featured.
It is hardly surprising that Travis Scott is on #MLLE considering Wizkid’s reputation for significant worldwide features. It’s likely the first of many international partnerships on the project, in my opinion.
With the signing of some of the best and most promising musical stars, Naira Marley’s Marlian Records has over the years revealed itself to be nothing more than a “cruise label” in disguise.
Naira Marley announced the debut of his label on December 30, 2019, during the Marlian Fest, with the automatic signing of 4 acts: Zinoleesky, Mobhad, Fabian Blu, and C Black.
Despite this, Zinoleesky has shown he has what it takes to compete for the top spots in the Nigerian music industry by releasing hit after hit and fiercely competing for the “Next-Rated” award, which he ultimately lost to Buju. A prize that his employer Naira Marley didn’t get any credit for.
Because Zinoleesky evidently isn’t receiving the proper vibe to help him become greater than he already is, his potential keeps being constrained in his label.
It is obvious that Marlian Records is just a smokescreen for smokers looking to be in style when you look at the organization, from the boss to the entire unbeatable squad.
The Marlian Fest, which has Naira Marley as the headlining act and label boss, as well as all the other artists on the roster and various affiliates, has also lost its relevance from when it first began.
Less than 500 people attended the Marlian Fest in the past two years, which began with over 4000 people at the Eko Convention center in Lagos.
Due to the over 5-hour show delay in the last edition, many attendees left the stadium before the performance even began.
Only an hour would be left for Zinoleesky to perform for his admirers and have another opportunity to show the world who he is in a different realm.
A label that never wants to improve and would rather seek affiliation with artists who perform at worldwide events.
The manager announced his intention to hold his Marlian Fest in 2021 at the SSE Arena Wembley in London, but the event was cancelled.
Let’s cut the chase guys.
Would Zinoleesky Have Performed Better Had He Been Signed to Olamide’s YBNL Label, Do You Think?
Do you believe Zinoleesky himself is content having his name on the Marlian Record?
