I Didn’t Snub 2Baba In London Club – Mikel Obi Speaks Up

Mikel Obi, the former Super Eagles captain, has spoken up on his alleged beef with singer, Innocent Idibia aka 2baba.

He clarified that he never snubbed 2Baba at a club in London. He noted that he would never have done such a thing seeing he’s a big fan of 2Baba.

There’s been an existing narrative that the former Chelsea star snubbed 2baba sometime in 2006 at a club in London which led the veteran singer to release his 2010 hit track “Only Me”.

They claimed the song was 2baba’s way of getting back at Obi for his rudeness.

In 2016, a few years after the emergence of the speculation, 2Baba, in an interview with Brila FM, dispelled the narrative.

He said such an incident never took place and insisted the song was never a diss track nor about Mikel.

2Baba also revealed when he heard about the rumour at that time, called the former Nigerian international and they had a good laugh over it

“At the time I did the song, Mikel had issues with his inability to show up for certain Super Eagles games.

“Then some very good rumour monger picked a line from my song as regards patriotism towards representing the National football team and ran with the story of a rift between us.

“I spoke with Mikel on the phone and we had a good laugh about it”, stated the veteran singer

Though Mikel never openly addressed the speculation until recently when a curious fan quizzed him about the same under the comment section of the Instagram post he made

He shared a video where he was captured chilling at home while enjoying some good music.

Captioning the video, he wrote: “When the music hits hard, and you can’t get enough. Have a good Sunday my people.”

Your Claim On Presidential Election Arrant Nonsense – APC To Atiku

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has slammed Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections.

The APC says the allegation made by the Atiku Abubakar against it lacks substance.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, in a statement issued on Saturday, described Atiku’s allegations as arrant nonsense.

He said there was nothing in Atiku’s statement that was worth a reaction from the ruling party.

The spokesperson said Atiku’s statement alleged that the APC and its government are engaged in a plot to intimidate members of the judiciary towards unduly influencing the outcome of pending cases before the court.

Morka stressed Atiku and his minions offered no evidence to support their wild, hollow, and mischievous allegations.

The spokesperson stressed that President Bola Tinubu and the APC won the election convincingly, adding that the ruling party has faith and confidence in the courts to dispense electoral justice in accordance with the Constitution and all applicable laws.

He added: “Quite frankly, there is nothing in Atiku Abubakar’s statement that is worth a reaction from the APC. It is just arrant nonsense, totally lacking in substance and cogency.

“It’s only imaginable purpose is a childish attempt to float an alibi to deflect the shame of a highly probable defeat in court, having miserably failed to make out a credible case to justify his bogus claim that he won the last Presidential Election.”

Subsidy Removal: I’m Aware That Nigerians Are Suffering – President Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that he is aware of the sufferings experienced by Nigerians following the removal of fuel subsidy.

He assured Nigerians that the decision was in the best interest of the country, especially in guaranteeing future prosperity.

The President stated this when he received the 18 governors who served with him, Class of 1999, at the Presidential Villa, on July 12. He assured Nigerians that the framework for palliatives to remedy the effects of fuel subsidy removal was being worked out.

Tinubu said the government will increase effort, speed up the process and ensure a full-proof social security structure that will not be compromised, especially in cash-transfer.

“I understand that our people are suffering yet there can be no childbirth without pain. The joy of childbirth is the relief that comes after the pain. Nigeria is reborn already with fuel subsidy removal. It is a rebirth of the country for the largest number over a few smugglers. Please tell the people to be a little patient.

The palliative is coming. I don’t want cash-transfer to fall into wrong hands. I know it pinches and it is difficult. In the end, we will rejoice in the prosperity of our country,’’ he told the governors, who were led by former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion.

“I was keeping my virginity for my husband” – Khosi Twala

Big Brother Titans winner, Makhosazane Twala, popularly known as Khosi, has revealed that during her adolescent years, she was a committed believer.

The journalist and reality television star claimed to be a virgin who was waiting for her marriage and avoided social vices while she was in her 20s.

Khosi made the disclosure during a recent interview with TV and Radio personality, Hero Daniels.

The 25-year-old asserted that she is still a virgin, highlighting the fact that it is a state of mind.

She said;

“Believing in the Higher Power has always been a big thing in my life. Just that at some points it was stronger than others.

I got baptised when I was 18. Between 18 to 21, I was such as strong believer. I didn’t smoke, I didn’t drink. I was a virgin waiting for my husband [laughs]. And then at 22, I was like, what?!

I have always been a religious person. Back then, I didn’t have much but life was like, this got better. But funny enough, I was beginning to be unhappy. I don’t know how to explain it.

So, when I was in tertiary [institution], I didn’t have a lot. But I was determined. The only thing I had was that I’m gonna get my education then I’m gonna strive. I think the downfall was the fact that I got my education [graduated] and I still didn’t have a paying job.”
