FG Confirms US Airstrikes On Terrorists, Cites Intelligence Cooperation

The Federal Government has confirmed that Nigeria and the United States are engaged in ongoing security and intelligence cooperation following airstrikes on terrorist targets in the North West.

“This has led to precision hits on terrorist targets in Nigeria by air strikes in the North West.”

In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed by spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa, said Nigerian authorities remain engaged in “structured security cooperation with international partners, including the United States of America,” to address terrorism and violent extremism in the country.

The ministry said the collaboration, which led to precision airstrikes on terrorist targets, involves intelligence sharing, strategic coordination and other forms of support in line with international law, respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty and shared security commitments.

“Nigeria reiterates that all counter-terrorism efforts are guided by the primacy of protecting civilian lives, safeguarding national unity, and upholding the rights and dignity of all citizens, irrespective of faith or ethnicity,”the statement said.

It added that terrorist violence, “whether directed at Christians, Muslims, or other communities, remains an affront to Nigeria’s values and to international peace and security.”

The statement followed comments by United States President Donald Trump, who said on Thursday that US forces had carried out deadly strikes against Islamic State terrorists in Northwestern Nigeria.

“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians,”
Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He added, “The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.”

Trump warned that further attacks would follow if the killing of Christians continued, saying, “If they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.”

In a separate social media post, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington acted with Nigeria’s cooperation.

“Grateful for Nigerian government support & cooperation,”
Hegseth wrote, adding that the Department of War was “always ready.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Nigeria would continue to work with its partners through established diplomatic and security channels to weaken terrorist networks, disrupt their financing and logistics, and prevent cross-border threats.

The airstrikes came a day after a bomb attack on a mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, killed five people and injured dozens in what authorities suspect was a suicide bombing.

Prayer Doesn’t Work; I Have Never Prayed Before In My Life – Nigerian Singer, Seun Kuti Claims (Video)

Seun Kuti, the Afrobeat star, has shared his views on prayer, revealing that he does not believe in it.

In a recent video broadcast via his Instagram account, Kuti stated that he has never prayed before.

According to him, praying is childish. He argued that choices and actions are what shape an individual’s and not prayers.

“I have never prayed before in my life. I don’t know how to pray. I don’t believe it works. Your life is your prayer. Praying in the public or aloud is eye service. It is childishness,”
he claimed.

“Your life is the prayer. What you do with your life is your prayer. That is the only prayer. Your action is prayer. Somebody say so you don’t believe in God?

“This concept of God that most people have is why prayer is even now completely noid and void. Because this God you talked about, you claimed he has already written down what is going to happen from the beginning to end; his will must be done.

“So, except your prayer aligns with his will… If your prayer does not align with the will of this your God, then your prayer will not be answered. But clerics won’t tell you this because they want to exploit you.

“I solve my problems. I don’t pray over my problems. If prayer solves problems, prisons and hospitals would be empty,” he added.

No Artist Is Wack, Every Music Is Tailored Made – 2baba Says, Explains Why (Video)

Speaking in a video broadcast, the African Queen crooner claiming that there is no such thing as “wack artists,” arguing that every music is tailored made and acceptance is narrowed down to promotion and other commercial strategies/reasons.

He said, “Every music is tailored made to evoke an emotion, to create a spirit. There is nothing like a wack artiste.

“That is why many of the so-called wack artists are more bankable than the talented ones. Because they understand that it is not the art itself, it is the marketing of that art.

“No matter how talented you are or how sweet your music is, there is no music that everybody likes.

“Everything is narrowed down to the marketing, promotion and the business. It is only those who resonate with your music that will like it naturally.”

Hundreds of Muslims join Christians at Kaduna church to celebrate Christmas

Hundreds of Muslims from across northern Nigeria on Thursday joined Christians at the Christmas service of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, in a show of interfaith harmony.

The General Overseer of the church, Yohanna Buru, said Muslim participation in the church’s annual Christmas celebration has become a long-standing tradition.

Buru said the event attracts participants from all 19 northern states, including Muslims from different Islamic sects such as Tijjaniyya, Shi’ite groups under the Islamic Movement, and Sunni Muslims.

According to him, the gathering is aimed at celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ while promoting peace, unity and mutual understanding among adherents of different faiths.

“This is the 15th time Muslims and Christians are gathering for this historic annual event to strengthen our relationship and foster unity,” he said.

Buru added that Muslim delegations presented gifts to the church as symbols of love, friendship and unity between the two religions.

He said the celebration took place amid economic hardship, insecurity, rising food prices, poverty and unemployment, stressing that interfaith cooperation and prayers remain critical to national stability.

The cleric noted that hundreds of Muslims have consistently attended the church’s Christmas services over the years and urged religious leaders to intensify prayers for peace.

“We are all children of Adam and Eve. We worship one God, have holy books, and believe in paradise and hell. These shared values should unite us,” he said.

An Islamic scholar, Salihu Mai-Barota, said Muslims attended the service to celebrate with Christians and to promote religious tolerance.

He urged adherents of both faiths to continue praying for peace and advised youths to shun religious violence and avoid spreading fake news on social media.

Also speaking, Ibrahim Musa, an Imam from Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, congratulated Christians on the Christmas celebration.

Musa urged youths to support government efforts aimed at promoting peace and unity, noting that Muslims and Christians regularly visit one another during religious celebrations.
