If It Wasn’t For Chioma, I Wouldn’t Have Gotten Married – Davido

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke aka Davido has made a confession.
The Grammy-nominee stated that if not for his wife, Chioma, he wouldn’t have considered marriage.
According to him, if it wasn’t for Chioma, he wouldn’t have gotten married.
Davido spoke in a recent episode of The Morning Hustle podcast.
He said, “My wedding was the happiest day of my life. Chioma has been my girl for 12 years so it was only right I married her. I was already famous before we met but I wasn’t big then.
 
“If it wasn’t her [Chioma], I’m not getting married. There’s no point.”
Recall that Davido and Chioma tied the knot on June 25, 2024, at a lavish ceremony in Lagos.

Rema, Asake, Ayra Starr, Others Nominated For 2025 MOBO Awards

The MOBO Awards has unveiled nominations for their 2025 edition.

Nigerian singers, Asake, Rema, Ayra Starr, Tems, Bnxn, Ruger, Shallipopi, and Odumodublvck were nominated for the 2025 Music of Black Origin Awards.

Tems, Ayra Starr, and Asake are nominated in the Best International Act category alongside Beyonce, Glorilla, Kendrick Lamar, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Tyla.

In the Best African Music Act category, Asake, Ayra Starr, Bnxn & Ruger, Odumodublvck, Rema, Shallipopi, and Tems are nominated alongside South African singers; Tyla and Uncle Waffles.

For the first time, the ceremony will take place in Newcastle, at the Utilita Arena on Tuesday, February 18.

The fire, which caused extensive damage to property and valuables, left the actress heartbroken.

Reports suggest the incident might have been avoidable, intensifying the emotional strain on the star.

In a statement shared on her official social media accounts, Mercy Aigbe expressed gratitude that no lives were lost in the unfortunate incident.

She also thanked her fans for their unwavering support during this challenging time.

“Devastated, I thank God no life was lost. It is well,” she wrote.

Nigeria Doesn’t Have True Democracy – Davido

Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido has admitted that Nigeria doesn’t have true democracy like the United States of America.
The popular singer stated this when he featured in a recent episode of The Morning Hustle podcast.
Davido explained that he congratulated Donald Trump after his electoral victory despite voting for his opponent, Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party because he believes in American democracy.
“I congratulated Donald Trump. That’s the president! What are you talking about? If I were running against him, I would still have congratulated him.
 
“What I like about America is that there’s true democracy. Where I come from [Nigeria], it’s not so.
 
“To be honest, I voted for Kamala Harris because I wanted to see the first female president in my generation. That would have been cool.”

I Don’t Count Weed As Hard Drug – Davido Says

David Adeleke, the popular Nigerian singer, who is also known as Davido, has said he doesn’t regard cannabis, commonly called weed, as a hard drug.

The singer stated this while discussing his foundation’s planned donation to orphanages and fight against drug abuse on the latest episode of The Morning Hustle podcast.

Davido said some people are accusing him of being a hypocrite for donating to fight against drug abuse while still smoking weed but he doesn’t regard weed as a hard drug.

He said: “This year, I’m donating to the fight against drug abuse among youths. I don’t count weed as a hard drug. Some people are saying I smoke weed but I don’t count weed as a drug.

“A lot of people have been going through a lot recently. Drug addiction is becoming rampant. So I want to donate to that cause to help them quit.”
