NYSC Denies Withholding Corps Member, Raye’s Certificate Over Anti-Tinubu Comments

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has refuted social media claims that Corps Member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as “Raye,” was denied her Certificate of National Service due to her criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the NYSC described the reports as “false and baseless,” stressing that the delay in releasing Raye’s certificate was strictly procedural.

Raye, with service number LA/24B/8325, gained online attention earlier this year after posting a TikTok video in which she described Lagos as “smelling” and openly criticised the Tinubu-led government. The video triggered backlash and prompted her to publicly apologise.

The controversy drew reactions from notable figures, including former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and activist Omoyele Sowore, who alleged political victimisation.

However, the NYSC insists that her case is not politically driven and that her certificate will be issued once all standard processes are completed.

Police Secure Conviction Of 21 Foreign Nationals In Abuja Cybercrime Case

The Nigeria Police Force has secured the conviction of 21 foreign nationals linked to a high-profile cybercrime syndicate uncovered in Abuja in November 2024.

Force spokesperson, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the breakthrough followed a major raid carried out on November 3, 2024, at a building in Jahi, Abuja, acting on credible intelligence. The operation — part of a broader cybercrime crackdown — led to the arrest of 130 suspects, including 113 foreign nationals, mainly of Chinese and Malaysian origin, and 17 Nigerian collaborators.

The suspects were accused of engaging in large-scale internet fraud, hacking operations, and other cyber offences deemed a threat to Nigeria’s national security and economic stability.

After months of investigation, bolstered by digital forensic evidence and expert testimonies, the accused were arraigned in court on December 2, 2024. By August 1, 2025, 21 of them had been found guilty and sentenced, while trials for the remaining suspects are still ongoing.

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, hailed the convictions as a strong warning to local and international cybercriminals that Nigeria will not be a safe haven for illicit activities.

He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to intensifying the fight against cybercrime through advanced technology, international collaboration, and thorough investigative work, promising further updates as prosecutions progress.

Side Chick Crashes Wife’s New Car, Kills Passenger In Tricycle Accident

A tragic accident in Delta State has sparked outrage after a side chick, allegedly driving a newly purchased car belonging to her lover’s wife, rammed into a commercial tricycle, killing one passenger.

Human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe disclosed the incident in a Facebook post on Saturday, August 9, 2025. According to him, the vehicle — recently bought by the married man’s wife for her personal use — was taken by her husband to a hotel where he was lodging with his mistress.

While at the hotel, the side chick reportedly told the man she needed to go shopping. He then handed her the car keys. Moments later, she was involved in a collision with a tricycle, which resulted in the death of one of its passengers.

The woman was immediately detained by police, and the car was impounded. Meanwhile, Joe revealed that the unsuspecting wife had been calling her husband to return the car so she could pick up her children and resume her business for the day, unaware of the incident.

The post, which has since gone viral, was laced with criticism of the man’s actions, with Joe expressing support for the wife in the unfolding drama. Police are expected to carry out a full investigation into the fatal crash.

Nollywood’s Sarah Martins Reveals Why She Quit Church Despite Being A Devout Christian

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has opened up about her decision to stop attending church services, citing repeated unwanted advances from pastors as the main reason for her withdrawal from organised worship.

Speaking in an interview with The PUNCH, Martins said she was once deeply involved in church activities but came to believe that physical attendance alone does not secure divine favour.

“I am not an atheist. I’m a Christian, and I used to be very active in church, but over time I realised that going to church alone doesn’t make you God’s favourite. It’s what you do behind closed doors that really matters,” she explained.

According to the actress, every congregation she joined eventually left her disillusioned after pastors made inappropriate overtures toward her. The experiences prompted her to shift her focus toward cultivating a personal relationship with God.

Martins said she made a vow to remain faithful to Him by living a life that aligns with her values and beliefs. She now expresses her devotion through private worship and charitable acts, which she credits for bringing her answered prayers.

“Since then, every time I go down on my knees, He answers,” she said, adding that while pastoral misconduct drove her away from church buildings, it strengthened her resolve to practise her faith in her own way.

“Why I’m Still Single And Childless At 52 “- Veteran Nollywood Actress, Bimbo Akintola Opens Up

Veteran Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, has candidly shared the personal reasons behind her single status, revealing that it was never a deliberate choice.

In an exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, the 52-year-old screen icon disclosed that while she values the sacredness of marriage, she has yet to find the right partner since losing the man she once thought she would spend her life with.

Akintola, whose mother hails from Edo State and father from Oyo State, described marriage as a holy covenant meant to be celebrated in God’s house, surrounded by loved ones. She stressed that she could only marry someone she is certain she can be with for life, adding that honesty and truth are non-negotiable in her relationships.

“I haven’t found the person I would spend the rest of my life with. I did once, but he passed away, and since then, I haven’t found another. I can’t live a lie — I have to be true to myself and to God,” she said.

The actress, who has no children, maintained that she remains open to marriage at any age, even in her late seventies, if she meets the right person. While emphasizing that marriage does not define a woman’s worth, Akintola noted that companionship becomes increasingly important in later years when children grow up and move on.

“Marriage is important, especially as you get older. Loneliness is real, and everyone needs a companion for the later years,” she added.

Leaked Audio Links KWAM 1 To Threats Against ValueJet Airline Boss, Kunle Soname (Audio)

Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has come under fresh scrutiny after a leaked audio emerged in which he allegedly threatened Kunle Soname, the owner of ValueJet Airlines, following their recent public clash.

The recording, now circulating widely online, captures the musician recounting his version of events during a heated altercation at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

KWAM 1 maintained in the audio that the contents of his flask were water, not alcohol, as the aircraft’s pilot reportedly claimed. He said his health condition required him to drink water frequently, accusing airline staff of disregarding this and subjecting him to what he described as “public embarrassment.”

In the clip, the singer appeared to issue a warning to Soname, vowing that the airline boss would “feel me in his business.” He also boasted of having supported Soname’s ventures in the past through political connections.

“My name is Wasiu Ayinde, nobody does that with me and gets away with it,” the Fuji star said, insisting he neither jumped the queue nor caused trouble before being told he could not board the flight. He alleged that the situation escalated unnecessarily, prompting him to open the flask and pour out its contents to prove it contained only water.

The dispute comes just days after reports of the airport confrontation surfaced, fuelling online debates over the treatment of high-profile passengers and the limits of airline authority.
