Napoli Treated Me Like A Dog – Victor Osimhen Opens Up

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, has alleged that he was treated poorly, describing his time at Napoli as being “treated like a dog.”

Osimhen stated this when asked about his relationship with Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis before the club released a video mocking him on TikTok for missing a penalty against Bologna in the past.

According to the Galatasaray star, Napoli tried to send him everywhere after his fallout with the Serie A club.

“We had a gentleman’s agreement that I could leave the following summer, but the other side didn’t fully fulfill that commitment,” Osimhen told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They tried to send me everywhere, they treated me like a dog. Go here, go there, do this, do that.

“I worked so hard for my career, I could not accept that kind of treatment. I’m not a puppet.”

This is ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff first leg tie on Tuesday.

“I had the opportunity to join Juventus, yes,” Osimhen said as he prepares for Galatasaray’s Champions League Round of 16 playoff first leg against Juventus on Tuesday.

Electronic Transmission: If India Can Do It, Nigeria Has No Excuse – Peter Obi

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi stated that if large countries such as India can conduct elections and transmit results electronically, Nigeria has no reason not to adopt the same approach.

In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Tuesday, Obi said India, the world’s largest democracy, with nearly one billion registered voters and more than 60 percent actively participating in elections, remains a model.

According to him, the country has over one million polling stations and thousands of political parties, and conducts elections using technology that enables electronic transmission of results within days.

According to him, Nigeria, with only one-seventh of India’s population, has about 93 million registered voters, which is less than 10 percent of India’s voter base.

He added that with fewer than 20 percent of the polling stations and only about 1 percent of the political parties compared to India, it is deeply troubling that Nigeria still struggles to conduct elections, even when it records voter turnout below 20%.

The former Anambra State governor lamented that Nigeria still remains unable to consistently deliver free, fair, and credible elections or transmit results promptly, especially when compared to countries with far larger numbers than ours.

“The difference is leadership. In India, political leaders, legislators and judiciary work tirelessly for the welfare of their people and the future of their children, to do the right thing for the betterment of society, even amidst challenges.

“In Nigeria, many political figures instead implement policies that impoverish the people and threaten the future of our children.

“If we are to transform Nigeria, we must demand leaders who put the people first, govern with integrity, and plan for a better tomorrow,” he wrote.

Actress Tonto Dikeh And Her Ex-Husband, Olakunle Churchill, Pose With Their Son In His Lovely Birthday Photos

On Tuesday, February 17,  King Andre, the son of actress Tonto Dikeh, marked his birthday.

The actress shared lovely photos of herself and her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, posing with their son for his birthday photos.

The excited mum who shared the photos, wrote a heartfelt prayer for King Andre as he turns 10 today.

She wrote; ”Heavenly Father,

Today I stand as a parent under the authority of Your name, covering my son in the mighty blood of Jesus.

On this birthday, I declare that you are marked by God, chosen, protected, and untouchable by evil. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment is condemned.

Any plan spoken in secret against you is exposed and destroyed. Any trap set for you shall catch fire before you get near it. Every evil gathering where your name is mentioned is scattered by God’s thunder.

Father, let every curse sent toward you return empty and powerless. Turn every plot against you into promotion. Let those who seek your downfall witness your rising instead.

I declare:

You will not die before your time.

You will not be cut short.

You will not be a victim of accident, violence, or betrayal.

Let God’s angels stand guard over you day and night. Wherever your name is mentioned for evil, let God’s name answer with fire and authority.

May those who wish you harm encounter God’s conviction and repent. And if they refuse, let their evil plans collapse upon themselves without touching you.

You shall flourish.

You shall excel.

You shall lead.

You shall live long and fulfill destiny.

I seal you in divine protection, divine favor, and divine purpose.

In Jesus’ mighty name,

Amen.”

Why I Stopped Attending Church – Nigerian Streamer, Carter Efe Opens Up

Popular Nigerian skit maker Carter Efe has revealed why he no longer attends church, explaining that he feels uncomfortable with how some pastors interact with their congregants.

During a livestream on Twitch, the entertainer said he became uncomfortable with how certain religious leaders form close ties with church members and later begin to ask them for money.

According to him, the relationship may start in a friendly way, with frequent calls and warm gestures, but it can later turn into repeated financial requests for personal needs.

He explained that in some cases, a pastor may begin by asking for small support, such as money for fuel or food items, and over time continue to collect money from the same person.

He said this pattern made him afraid and pushed him away from attending church services.

He said: “Pastor go dey show you love dey call you for afternoon and evening. Before you know pastor go dey tell you say ‘can you give me money for fuel?’ before you know pastor go tell you say ‘i want to cook beans, I need oil’.

“Before you know pastor go dey collect money for your hand na why I dey fear. Na why I no dey go church. I dey fear all this pastors, if them turn you to friend, them go just dey collect money for your hand…”

Lawyer Fires Back At Nigerian Singer, Davido Over Social Media Harassment After Custody Case

A fresh wave of controversy has surfaced in the ongoing custody battle between Afrobeats star Davido and his daughter, Imade, after the singer opted to withdraw from the case. His decision, along with the public reactions that followed, prompted an official statement from the law firm representing the child’s mother.

Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, announced late Friday that he had opted to discontinue the custody proceedings, insisting that he never sought sole custody of his daughter but only requested joint custody.

He maintained that no party emerged victorious from the case, describing the situation as a loss for the child involved.

“I never asked for full custody … I asked for joint custody. Nobody won, nobody lost but Imade … so I don’t know why some pple r celebrating. There’s nothing to celebrate,” the singer wrote on X.

Explaining his decision to withdraw, Davido alleged that events during court proceedings took an unacceptable turn, claiming that references were made to his late son, an experience he described as deeply distressing.

“I’ve decided to drop the case because … until she brought out her last card! MY DECEASED SON! THAT’S A NO NO! Lowest blow!” He stated.

The artiste added that his actions were driven by love and responsibility toward his daughter, expressing confidence that his efforts would be understood in the future.

“My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her … let’s move on. One love!” he wrote.

Davido also took to his Instagram story to criticise the opposing legal team, alleging unprofessional conduct during the proceedings.

“I disgraced you in the courtroom … I was teaching you your work … and then went on to mention my son. Like I said in the courtroom, I pray you never go through what me and my wife have gone through ever,” he posted.

The online outburst followed earlier social media commentary by a Lagos-based legal practitioner, Maruf Muhammed, who had drawn public attention to tense moments during proceedings at the Lagos State High Court, Yaba.

“Davido in High Court, Yaba now! Come and see drama in court. The lawyer made 001 lose his patience during cross-examination o! Be you never so high, the law is above you,”Muhammed wrote, later clarifying that the matter before the court related to the custody of Davido’s daughter, Imade.

In response to the public commentary and what it described as harassment directed at its partner, the law firm representing Imade’s mother, Sophia, issued a strongly worded statement defending its conduct and warning against intimidation of legal practitioners.

In the statement dated February 16, 2026, the firm said its attention had been drawn to inflammatory public statements, allegedly orchestrated by a Nigerian Afrobeats artiste on social media, concerning a custody matter currently before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State.

“That matter is sub judice. It will be decided by the court alone, on evidence and law, and no amount of media commentary will sway that process or our approach to the case,” the firm stated.

It stressed that it would not comment on the substance of the case, citing adherence to the highest standards of professional conduct, but warned that threats, intimidation or harassment of counsel outside the courtroom pose a serious threat to the administration of justice.

“However, if legal practitioners are to be threatened, intimidated, or exposed to harassment outside the courtroom for asking questions, testing evidence, or discharging their professional duty to their clients, then the very foundation of justice is imperilled,” the statement said.

The firm added that fearless advocacy remained essential to the justice system, warning that when lawyers were forced to weigh personal safety against professional duty, the rule of law was weakened.

“It will not begin with us,” the firm declared, noting that it would deploy every lawful measure available to resist any attempt to intimidate counsel or undermine judicial proceedings.

It further called on the Nigerian Bar Association and lawyers globally to condemn what it described as an aberration and a gross violation of the legal profession.

The statement was jointly signed by the Management and Board of Partners of the firm.

Meanwhile, the custody dispute continues to attract public attention, with fans and observers calling for peaceful co-parenting, even as both sides maintain their positions amid heightened public scrutiny.

I’m Bigger Than Everybody – Portable Reacts To Claims Of Olamide, Promoters Blacklisting Him (Video)

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has responded to allegations that certain prominent figures in the country’s music industry have blacklisted him.

Popular influencer, Tunde Perry recently sparked reactions after revealing that he attended a meeting where some top music executives allegedly blacklisted Portable for gross misconduct.

He claimed that Portable’s unruly actions in the industry did not just put him in the black book of top industry heads but affected the chances of up-and-coming artists being assisted by established artists and executives.

Perry further claimed that ace rapper and music executive Olamide is now skeptic about assisting up-and-coming artists due to his experience with Portable, who turned to his critic after he assisted him on his breakthrough track ‘Zazu.’

Reacting via a video broadcast, Portable blasted Tunde Perry, Olamide, and the music executives, who allegedly blacklisted him.

He boasted that he doesn’t need the support of any music executive to succeed in the music industry, adding that his fans are enough for him.

The Zazu crooner claimed that he is currently a bigger figure in the music industry than the promoters and artists, who allegedly blacklisted him.

Portable said, “I am bigger than them. Who are those who want to blacklist? I heard that Tunde Perry said Olamide and his circle of music executives called for me to be blacklisted. Are you guys, my fans or my God? Are you feeding me?

“I have my own fans. I am bigger than any f**king person. Anyone who wants to help you, won’t stress you. Don’t use the assistance you gave me in the past to stress me. Are you the only one who has ever assisted me?

“There are a lot of people who helped me without stressing me. Why would you say they shouldn’t play my songs again? Olamide, don’t mess with me. If you mess with me, I will return the energy. Stay on your own lane.”

2026 World Cup: Super Eagles Miss Out On Intercontinental Play-Off As FIFA Dismisses NFF Petition Against DR Congo

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has seen its petition dismissed over the alleged ineligibility of a player fielded by the Fédération Congolaise de Football Association, effectively ending the Super Eagles’ chances of re-entering contention for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup via the intercontinental play-off route, according to a report by Naija News.

A reliable source confirmed to Naija News that the world football governing body FIFA reached its final decision on Monday, 17 February, and has formally communicated the verdict to all federations involved in the dispute.

However, the source disclosed that FIFA has directed the parties not to make any public announcement, as the responsibility for officially releasing the decision lies solely with the global body.

According to the source, FIFA ruled that the NFF’s argument was not strong enough to prevent DR Congo from progressing to the intercontinental play-offs scheduled for March. As a result, the petition filed by Nigeria was dismissed.

The decision means the Super Eagles will not participate in the six-nation intercontinental play-off tournament, effectively ending their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

The dispute arose from Nigeria’s 4-3 penalty shoot-out defeat to DR Congo in Morocco last November during the African play-off final. That loss denied the Super Eagles direct qualification for the expanded global tournament.

On 15 December 2025, the NFF formally petitioned FIFA, alleging that six Congolese players who had recently switched international allegiance were not eligible to feature in the decisive fixture.

At the time, officials of the Nigerian federation publicly expressed confidence in the strength of their case.

NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, had said: “We have a good case. As far as we are concerned, we have a strong case, and we are awaiting FIFA’s decision on the complaints we have lodged.”

Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, also voiced optimism in earlier remarks, stating his belief that Nigeria would receive a favourable outcome.

In the weeks leading up to the verdict, reports emerged suggesting that DR Congo was confident of surviving the challenge. Sports247 reported that senior football figures from Congo and other Francophone countries were lobbying within FIFA circles.

“According to very reliable sources, Mosengo-Omba and top football executives from Congo and some Francophone countries are allegedly using their strong influence in FIFA to lobby for a favourable decision in this matter,” the Sports247 report stated.

“They know the seriousness of the petition and are scared that FIFA could decide in favour of Nigeria based on leaked information and available evidence. His influence in Africa and World football will come in handy for DR Congo.”

Despite the speculation, FIFA has now concluded its review and determined that the complaint does not warrant overturning the sporting outcome of the African play-off.

With the dismissal of the petition, DR Congo remains on course to compete in the intercontinental play-offs in March, where the final qualification slots for the 2026 World Cup will be decided.

The NFF still has the option of challenging FIFA’s decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. This independent institution resolves sports-related disputes through arbitration or mediation under specialised procedural rules.

It remains unclear whether the NFF will pursue that route.

Daddy Freeze Weighs Into Davido And Sophia Momodu Custody Drama; Calls Out Nigerian Lawyers (Video)

Daddy Freeze, the Nigerian media personality, has weighed in on the ongoing custody dispute between singer Davido and Sophia Momodu concerning their daughter, Imade Adeleke.

According to him, someone close to the lawyer involved had reached out to complain about the backlash she has been facing online after Davido publicly called her out.

While he said he does not support intimidation, bullying, or harassment of any kind, Daddy Freeze stated that the situation highlights a deeper issue in Nigeria’s legal system.

He explained that lawyers often use harsh words and personal attacks in court just to win cases, noting that he had also experienced insults during his  court proceedings.

Freeze particularly questioned why deeply sensitive issues, including references to Davido’s late son, were allegedly brought up during arguments, describing such tactics as unnecessary low blows.

He added that while someone might win in court, social media remains the “court of public opinion,” where outcomes can be very different.
