Asake is chastised by Solomon Buchi for demeaning Christianity in the “Only Me” video.

Popular Nigerian writer and social media personality Solomon Buchi has joined other Nigerians in criticizing popular musician Asake for his latest “Only Me” music video.

Parts of Asake’s most recent video were leaked this week; Asake, whose true name is Ahmed Ololade, has drawn criticism from Christians for allegedly demeaning Christianity.

The Grammy-nominated performer performed a sacrament-like act alongside men and women who were dressed similarly in the worship house in the film, which featured her wearing a priestly gown.

Before dollars were sprayed after a while, he appeared to be serving the group of men and women in the robes as a priest, providing them with supplies that were as valuable as gold.

Buchi responded to the video on Instagram, calling the way she performed in the video—which has nothing to do with Christianity—”disrespectful.”

“Asake consistently disregards Christianity in his music videos. It is insulting to dramatize the Eucharist while dressed in priestly regalia for a music video that has nothing to do with Christianity, according to Buchi.

“In his Bandana film, he shows strange individuals being topped by cloven tongues of fire while black goats storm into the chapel. I believe Asake to be a Muslim. Why does he not do more in this way to make his Muslim faith look bad?

“Why ever listen to these openly disrespectful musicians who are Christians?

The way these musicians utilize Christianity as a prop in their music videos grosses me out. It is still there for visual purposes after that.

Naira Is Removed From Binance’s Peer-to-Peer Market Due To Nigerian Government Crackdown

The popular cryptocurrency trading site Binance removed the Naira, the currency of Nigeria, from its peer-to-peer feature on Wednesday.

The P2P market functionality enables users, buyers, and sellers to conduct transactions without the involvement of a third party.

Nigerians first learned about it in 2021 when the government of former president Muhammadu Buhari outlawed cryptocurrency trade in the nation.

SaharaReporters discovered that the elimination of their currency has prevented many Nigerian users from using the feature.

Nigerian authorities claimed that Binance’s removal of Naira from its P2P market was a result of the platform’s role in the devaluation of the currency.

Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, said on Wednesday that Binance’s arbitrary foreign exchange rate fixing would ruin the Nigerian economy if it isn’t stopped.

The National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu’s office detained two Binance employees on Wednesday, according to a report published in the Financial Times. The detentions were a result of an inquiry into the cryptocurrency exchange’s activities in Nigeria.

By cracking down on bitcoin exchanges, their imprisonment in Nigeria was an attempt to stop naira speculation and stabilize its wild decline.

Victor Osimhen’s hat-trick heroics at Napoli match Diego Maradona’s scoring feat.

Victor Osimhen, a football player from Nigeria, has created history.

After scoring three goals against Sassuolo, he has now matched the scoring record set by the late, great Argentina captain Diego Maradona at Napoli.

On Wednesday, February 28, Osimhen scored his second hat-trick in Serie A as Napoli defeated Sassuolo 6-1 on the road.

For the Italian league winners, the Super Eagles striker has now scored in his previous three games.

Additionally, he has increased his league campaign total to 11 goals in 15 games.

His 10 league goals came after his second goal against Sassuolo, which gave Napoli a 3-1 lead.

Osimhen is currently the third player in Napoli’s history to score ten goals or more in four different seasons.

Maradona accomplished that between 1984 and 1988, and Attila Sallustro did the same for the Partenopei between 1929/30 and 1932/33, if one goes all the way back to 1929.

Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi are named to the Premier League Team of the Week.

Following matchday 26, two Super Eagles players—Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi—were named to the Premier League squad of the week.

Recall that after assisting the Super Eagles of Nigeria in making it to the tournament’s final, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey named 2023 AFCON stars.

At Old Trafford, Fulham shocked Manchester United with a 2-1 victory.

In the Premier League match, Harry Maguire scored the equalizer after Bassey had opened the scoring. Iwobi scored the game’s winning goal in the final minute, giving Fulham a 2-1 victory.

They were named in Whoscored.com’s Premier League Team of the Week together with Phil Foden of Manchester City, Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, and Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka as a result of their performance.

Calvin Bassey was also included in BBC football analyst Garth Crooks’ squad of the week following the Nigerian international’s superb performance against Manchester United.

Among Crooks were one player each from West Ham United, Crystal Palace, and Fulham. Each of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Aston Villa sent two players to the team.

The commentator stated, “This was an impressive team performance by the Cottagers with Bassey and Tosin Adarabioyo back in the starting line-up and could have played this match in stocking feet,” as an explanation of why he included Bassey in his team of the week.

“The goal by Nigerian international Bassey was a fitting cap to an outstanding individual display.”
