Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, the world-famous, Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, who is also known as Burna Boy has said 2Baba, Timaya, D’banj, Larry Gaaga, and Wande Coal are the only veterans he respects in the Nigerian music industry.
According to the self-acclaimed ‘African Giant,’ they are the only legends who have impacted his life and career.
Burna Boy stated this while reacting to veteran producer ID Cabasa’s recent call on Nigerian singers, urging them to respect legends.
During a recent Instagram live session with fans, he said: “The only OGs who have impacted my life; number one, Timaya, because he is the one who showed me that achieving stardom was possible. I’m going to respect him for the rest of my life.
“D’banj also supported me back then. He paid for ‘Wan Da Mo’ video. These are two people I don’t joke with. It’s not like n*ggas don’t have respect, no, n*ggas have just been through a lot and we only remember the people we saw in the dark times. People like Larry Gaaga. He stood by me back then. So these are people I will respect for the rest of my life.
“When you’re talking about OGs, as far as I’m concerned, those names are the only ones in addition to 2Face based on musicality and the fact that he did a feature with me when he didn’t have to back in the days. These are OGs to me. Any other person isn’t an OG to me. ID Cabasa, you can meet Olamide and you can be an OG to him [laughs]. We’ve all been through stuff differently and we all see life differently.
“I can’t forget Wande Coal, too. At a point in time, we were so close.”

Nkechi Blessing Sunday, the popular Nollywood actress, has given her opinion on the social media feud between Nigerian celebrities.
According to her, celebrities who bash each other online only do so for clout.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Nkechi Blessing said, “My thoughts on celebrities bashing each other on the Internet, I feel it’s some form of publicity stunt.
“By the time they come out on social media to exchange words, is either they have a new single coming up or they’re about to drop a song. So most times when I see celebrities fighting online, I just walk away because most times we sit down and plan these things.
“Sometimes, it’s not actually bad blood. As I said they might want to release a single so they will need all the clout and engagements to get their songs out there in your faces. So that’s it literally.”
Daily Post reports that the Nigerian entertainment scene in recent times has witnessed top celebrities fight dirty on social media while inviting their various fanbases to partake in the fights.

The Nigerian Police has arrested controversial singer, Portable, after he attempted to evade arrest over an alleged N14M debt for his G-Wagon.
It would be recalled that the singer had made the rounds yesterday after a video showed the moment he scaled a gate to avoid being arrested by the police who approached him amicably.

He had been hurled off the ground and carried into a waiting police van which took him to the station by force.

The ”Zazuu” crooner was arrested on Monday, May 14 following a petition from a car dealer. Portable allegedly purchased a G-Wagon worth N27 million from the car dealer, made a down payment of N14 million and took the vehicle away with the promise to pay the balance.
After waiting for a while without any word concerning his balance, the dealer reached out to the singer who claimed the car he purchased had faults.
The dealer then asked the singer to return the car or pay the balance but Portable allegedly refused.
Following a petition from the dealer, the police moved in and arrested the singer. The singer jumped his gate in an attempt to stop his arrest. He is currently in custody at the state police headquarters and might spend the night there as the police is yet to receive any surety for his bail.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the singer.
