Peller cries out after receiving over ₦18m tax bill from government

Popular Nigerian TikToker, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Peller, has voiced his frustration after receiving what he described as an “outrageous” tax bill from the Lagos State Inland Revenue Service (LIRS).

In a video that has since gone viral, Peller revealed that the agency had asked him to pay ₦18 million in taxes — an amount he insists is far beyond his earnings.

“Government, please pity me. I don’t have anything, I’m just managing. How can you tell me to come and pay such a huge tax? Do you want to kill me? You have children like me at home too; why are you doing this to me?” he pleaded.

Peller suspects that the bill may have been influenced by a rumour circulating online, alleging that he paid fellow content creator Gehgeh ₦25 million to feature on his livestream.

In a follow-up video, he firmly dismissed the claim, stressing that his online income is far smaller than people assume.

“Please don’t listen to him. I didn’t pay such an amount. My fans contributed to cover the studio costs. Even the partnerships I get online don’t pay more than ₦200k or ₦500k,” he explained.

The teen TikToker said that the exaggerated figures circulating about his earnings have created a false image of his financial status, possibly prompting the hefty tax demand.

Peter Obi slams Ibom Air’s lifetime ban on passenger, says justice favors the powerful

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticised the decision by AON to impose a lifetime flight ban on a young passenger, Ms. Comfort Emmanson, over misconduct on board.

In a statement on Tuesday, Obi revealed that he had apologised to the airline and its crew for the passenger’s “unacceptable conduct” but expressed shock at the severity and speed of the punishment, describing it as unjust and disproportionate.

Quoting the ancient Greek philosopher Anacharsis, Obi said the incident once again highlighted how “the law is like a spider’s web: it catches the weak, while the powerful break through with ease.”

He questioned the due process behind the overnight sanction and decried a system where the less privileged face swift and harsh consequences, while influential individuals often escape accountability for more serious offences.

Obi argued that while the young woman’s actions were wrong, there should be space for compassion, rehabilitation, and understanding, especially when misconduct may stem from frustration or displaced aggression.

He warned that justice must be consistent to avoid becoming “oppression in disguise,” adding that power must never determine who is punished and who is pardoned.

His words …

“The Poor Must Not Be Punished While the Powerful Walk Free

Yesterday, I sincerely apologised to Ibom Air and its crew for the unacceptable conduct of one of their passengers.

This morning, I woke up to learn that the passenger, the young Ms. Comfort Emmanson in her twenties, has been banned from flying for life—once again showing how our system works, proving the truth of Anacharsis’ words that “the law is like a spider’s web: it catches the weak, while the powerful break through with ease.”

There is everything systemically
Wrong and unjust about this authoritarian decision. What due process was followed over night leading to this sanction? Have we exhausted the avenues of justice and compassionate resolution on this matter?

It is a tragic irony that a young lady in her twenties can be banned for life, while we—her parents —commit worse crimes against humanity and are celebrated; those in positions of authority perpetrate far greater offences that harm the nation deeply, yet move freely in comfort, shielded from consequences, and in Ms. Emmanson’s case, the authorities acted with lightning speed, but the same urgency is absent when dealing with the influential and politically connected.

If this young woman, who indeed acted wrongly, now seeks to apologise, who will hear her cry in a country where the pain of the poor is invisible and the dignity of the less privileged is often disregarded? Justice must be consistent, or it becomes oppression in disguise.

This must change. Justice must be equal for all. There must be room for compassion, for rehabilitation, and for understanding when misconduct stems from frustration or displaced aggression. Power must never determine who is punished and who is pardoned.

May God heal our land.

A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO”

The Church Needs Money – Odumodublvck Backs Donations

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu aka Odumodublvck has stated that the Church also needs donations.
He stated this in a post on X on Monday.
According to him, if he had one billion naira to give, he would gladly contribute it to RRCG.
“If I had a billion to contribute to the RCCG, I would do it and even more. It is not by force to serve the Lord; they did not say that if you do not drop 1bn, you will not enter heaven. As for me and my household, we will continue to support the work of Christ shamelessly. No matter what you people throw at us. You are just fulfilling the scriptures. God bless you,” he wrote.
The rapper also pointed out why the church needs donations, noting that not every church member is financially capable or buoyant.
“We have made it a norm to desecrate the idea of supporting the church. Shey na Holy Spirit dey fuel the gen? Na Holy Spirit go pay for logistics for evangelism? The church needs money, much more money than the average business. Do you have an idea of the number of people your priest or local pastor supports? After church, you and your family just go to Mr. Biggs and have a nice weekend. You should be thankful you are not amongst those who have to wait behind to get small handouts from the pastor,” he wrote.

According to the ex-BBNaija housemate, living in the United Kingdom is expensive.
She spoke during her appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast.
“I’ve been called different types of names. The people you call your friends are not like, when you travel, they’re not really your friends anymore. And you also have to understand because they probably have like three shifts. Like it literally was just me like living in one of the most expensive neighborhoods abroad. We’re talking five thousand pounds a month like before you before you sleep i wake up it’s 30 days already. You’re like okay i have to start calculating i know people that wanted me to travel abroad like move to the UK,” she said.
Tacha also revealed that Nigerians in the diaspora are always busy because they are working endlessly to afford the standard of living. She claimed that living in the UK can be hard.
“And when I came, they were too busy to even see me. And I understand because there, do you understand? You’re going to St. Louis, you’re going to Tesco, you’re going to like a superstore. You see someone lying down on the floor helplessly asking for cash. Like, can you give me one pound? Like, you’re seeing it happen for real, for real. It’s such a hard place where you don’t have uncles or aunties or parents or anybody understanding where you’re coming from because they also have a lot going on for them as well,” she said.

Ibom Air: Prosecute Airport Staff Who Leaked Comfort Emmanson’s Indecent Video – Singer Simi

Singer Simi has reacted to the trending video showing Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson’s indecent exposure.
She demanded the prosecution of airline officials who exposed the lady’s private area.
Speaking in a post on Instagram, she questioned the fairness of punishing Emmanson for her behavior while ignoring the actions of those who recorded and shared the video without editing out the indecent parts.
The singer emphasized that sharing the video without blurring out Emmanson’s private parts was an invasion of her privacy and deserved punishment.
“Someone recorded her being dragged off the plane, recorded her being exposed like that, and then posted it without editing out this exposure or blurring it out. I personally want to know who posted that video and why no one is holding him/her accountable. Because they will face the law.”

“But voluntarily posting her half-naked for millions of people to see when less than 10 people actually witnessed it in the first place deserves punishment too because you cannot condemn one madness and leave another one,” she said.
Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on Ibom Air Flight Q153, was involved in a scuffle with flight crew and ground staff after refusing to switch off her phone during takeoff.
The situation escalated, and Emmanson was eventually removed from the plane, with a video of the incident going viral on social media.
