Panic As Bandits Strike Again, Abduct Pastor, Wife, Other Worshipers During Church Service In Kogi

On Sunday, November 30, some armed bandits attacked a church service in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting several worshipers.

The attack reportedly occurred at a newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church, according to a community-based news outlet.

Church members dispersed in fear as the assailants advanced, but the church leader, popularly known as Orlando, his wife and several others were taken away during the assault.

The incident triggered widespread panic as worshippers fled the church, adding to growing security concerns across parts of Kogi State.

Only a day earlier, reports said another group of armed men attacked the Isanlu Makutu–Idofin route in Yagba East Local Government Area, forcing residents and travellers to flee to safety. Witnesses said the Saturday afternoon attack created panic throughout the area.

Authorities and community members said the exact number of people abducted on Sunday remains unclear, with further details still emerging.

The wave of attacks has heightened fear in neighbouring communities, prompting many residents to remain indoors, while commuters are diverting to avoid the troubled route.

Boko Haram Began Under Your Watch, Presidency Fires Back At Obasanjo

Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has condemned former President Olusegun Obasanjo and other critics, accusing them of making “ignoble” attempts to undermine the administration’s ongoing efforts to tackle terrorism in Nigeria.

In a statement titled “Between Tinubu’s Capability and the Ignobility of Pseudo Statesmanship,” issued via his X handle on Sunday, Dare addressed recent comments from Obasanjo and “habitual presidential aspirants” portraying the Tinubu government as incapable of protecting Nigerians.

Dare argued that such criticisms ignore the reality of widespread terrorist threats and amount to “capitulation” rather than genuine statesmanship.

Obasanjo and other opposition leaders, including ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former presidential candidates, had in recent weeks criticised the rising attacks in the country and faulted the Federal Government’s non-kinetic approach.

Speaking at a Jos, Plateau State event on Friday, Obasanjo expressed displeasure over rising insecurity, saying Nigerians have the right to seek foreign intervention to cover what he described as the government’s failure to protect its citizens.

“No matter what religion you belong to. No matter where you come from. No matter your profession, we Nigerians are being killed, and our government seems to be incapable of protecting us.

“We are part of the world community. If our government cannot do it, we have the right to call on the international community to do for us what our government cannot do for us,” he said.

Reacting, Dare described the ex-president’s comments as “hypocritical and ignoble,” stating they ignored historical realities and insisting that Boko Haram incubated and grew under Obasanjo’s civilian administration.

“The suggestion that Nigeria should effectively subcontract its internal security to foreign governments is not statesmanship; it is capitulation.

“Before recommending surrender, the former President should reflect on what he failed to do when these terrorists first began organising under his watch,” the statement reads in part.

“It is historical fact that the ideological foundations and early cells of Boko Haram were incubated during Obasanjo’s civilian presidency. While they recruited, indoctrinated, built camps, and flaunted authority, the state failed to act decisively.

“What began as a preventable extremist sect transformed into a violent insurgency, a cross-border terrorist franchise, a regional menace aligned with global jihadist movements.

“For the leader under whom the first seeds of terrorism were allowed to germinate to now issue public lectures is not just ironic, it is reckless,”
Dare added.

The presidential aide stressed that Tinubu is confronting a multifaceted terrorist threat through a combination of military pressure, intelligence-led operations, governance restoration in contested areas, and community and counter-radicalisation programmes.

Dare added that undermining the government’s capacity could embolden terrorists.

“When former leaders disparage the nation’s capacity, they hand psychological victories to the very terrorists murdering, kidnapping, and extorting Nigerians.

“If Obasanjo wishes to help, he should acknowledge the past failures that allowed terrorists to gain a foothold, and then support ongoing efforts, not undermine them.

“Let him put his position and connections at Nigeria’s disposal like he has done for other countries. Not seek to put down an administration that is fully engaging on many fronts: economic turnaround, providing security, and building key infrastructure,” he added.

The aide called on all Nigerians to support the administration’s security strategies.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to securing every inch of Nigeria by confronting terrorists with strength, unity, and a whole-of-government strategy. Let all patriots join hands now and not raise alarms.

“This administration will not be distracted by selective amnesia wrapped in elder-statesmanship, nor will it allow those who midwifed Nigeria’s early security failures to rewrite history,” Dare said.

You’re A True One – Media Personality, Do2dtun Hails Actor Bolanle Ninalowo For Supporting Him In His Custody Battle

Do2dtun, the Nigerian media personality, has responded to the outpouring of support he received from actor Bolanle Ninalowo.

Earlier, 626Blaze reported that Do2dtun had called out the American Embassy in Nigeria for allowing his ex-wife, Taiwo Oyebanjo, to relocate to the US with their children without his consent.

He also called out the former US Consulate to Nigeria for allegedly conspiring with Taiwo and her family to take his kids out of Nigeria without his consent.

Showing support for him, Bolanle promised him that his fight would never go in vain, as he recalled how he had to put all he had built and achieved in Nigeria on hold to return to America and fight for his children, no matter the cost. Bolanle said his son helped him through it because he always reminded him that he saw Him.

Appreciating him, Do2dtun revealed that he has conversations with Bolanle and shares his experiences with him. He described Bolanle as a true one and appreciated him for his understanding and insight into everything.

“Thank you so much, Nino. You know what’s funny, I have seen all types of judgment from different people, but again I pause sometimes to think what is the worth of these over my kids. I am silent, go about my business, and then I move ahead in life, but then I see people like you and how you fight for the future of your children. I had conversations with you, and you’ve inspired me.

“It’s easy to move on to some people, but that’s to those who can’t ever see the true meaning of sharing a bond. We are at a crossroads where no one pauses, thinks, and asks, Is this enough to warrant such misjudgment and inhumane conduct?

“The truth is, it’s just a pure witch hunt and someone who needs to peddle narratives that mar me to have stay and win a fight. To what end?
Thank you so much for understanding and seeing through everything. You are a true one. Love you, my gee”.

Abia Governor, Alex Otti Visits Nnamdi Kanu In Sokoto Prison

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, on Sunday paid a visit to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the convicted leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), at the Sokoto Correctional Centre.

Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, and Prince Emmanuel Kanu disclosed the development in separate posts on their Facebook pages.

Ejimakor, in his post, thanked the governor “for fulfilling the promise you made to me to visit your brother, MAZI NNAMDI KANU. You’re a man of your words and gutsy to boot.

“May God bless you. And may your august visit to Sokoto today be the first step to ending this undeserved ordeal, sooner than later.”

On his part, Emmanuel Kanu wrote, “Governor Alex Otti and the people of Sokoto have made a unified statement by visiting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”

Recall that upon Kanu’s sentencing to life imprisonment, Governor Otti had said plans were in motion to secure the release of the IPOB leader from prison.

Otti said he had already activated a strategy to secure Kanu’s final freedom, which, according to him, he had earlier initiated during Kanu’s trial.

Atiku Slams Nigerian Government Over N17.5trn Pipeline Security Spending

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the Federal Government following reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited spent N17.5 trillion in one year on pipeline security—an amount he described as unprecedented and deeply alarming.

Atiku made the remarks on Sunday in a statement from his media office, stressing that the revelation stands as one of the most brazen financial scandals in the nation’s history.

The statement compared the alleged spending to Nigeria’s fuel subsidy expenditure over more than a decade, saying: ”For clarity, Nigeria spent roughly N18 trillion on fuel subsidy over a period of 12 years, a national programme that directly cushioned millions of Nigerians, stabilised the transport sector, and helped keep food prices manageable.”

According to the statement, the Tinubu administration had channelled almost the same amount in a single year into opaque security contracts.

“Yet, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the country has now expended nearly the same amount in a single year on the same subsidy and opaque pipeline security contracts awarded to private firms tied to associates and cronies of the President.

“Indeed, the action of the President is akin to robbing Peter (Nigerians) to pay Paul (cronies). This is not governance. This is grand larceny dressed as public expenditure,”the statement added.

The ex-Vice President also questioned the Tinubu administration’s justification for subsidy removal.

”Nigerians were told to tighten their belts, endure hardship, and ‘make sacrifices.’

“However, the same administration has now channelled N17.5 trillion—an amount that could transform Nigeria’s power sector, rebuild our refineries, or fund universal healthcare—into opaque security contracts whose beneficiaries are conveniently linked to those in power,” he stated.

Former Super Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum Challenges NFF Over Use Of $960,000 FIFA World Cup Grant (Video)

Former Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to account for the $960,000 he says FIFA disbursed to all participating nations in October 2022 to prepare for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Waldrum accused the federation of failing to organise a proper pre-tournament training camp despite receiving the grant.

“I have a real close contact here in the US that is very connected with some of the board at FIFA.

“This person told me that in October, every country was given $960,000 from FIFA to prepare for the World Cup. Where is that money?” he asked.

Waldrum criticised what he described as poor planning around the team’s October 2022 friendly in Japan, saying the logistics left his squad physically exhausted.

“We went to Japan, we flew in, played the game, and went home. Some of our players didn’t arrive until the morning before the game. Five players who were going to start for me arrived the night before, after travelling 16 hours. We wasted the last five days of that window to train,” he said.

He also raised concerns about the size and capacity of Nigeria’s technical staff, insisting the federation had failed to meet standards permitted by FIFA. According to him, FIFA allows teams to travel with up to 22 technical personnel, yet Nigeria’s contingent included only about 11.

“I don’t have an analyst, and I scout. The US has a scout in Europe watching teams. We don’t even have scouts going with us to Australia. Everything I have to do is on videos and what I can pick up online,” he lamented.

Waldrum further argued that FIFA allows business-class travel and later deducts the cost from federations’ prize money, insisting there was no justification for inadequate travel arrangements or poorly organised training camps.

While his allegations reignited debate over the team’s preparation, records showed that the Super Falcons did participate in various activities before the World Cup. They played international friendlies against the USA in August 2022, Japan in October 2022, and Mexico in February 2023.

The team also camped in Turkey in April 2023, where they defeated New Zealand 3–0 and Haiti 2–1, and later held a training tour on the Gold Coast in Australia from July 4 to 11, playing a friendly against Lions FC before moving to their official FIFA camp in Brisbane.

Despite the concerns raised by their former coach, the Super Falcons went on to deliver one of their most impressive World Cup runs in recent years. They held Canada and Ireland to goalless draws, defeated co-hosts Australia 3–2 in a dramatic encounter, and progressed to the Round of 16, where they lost 4–2 on penalties to eventual finalists England after a tense 0–0 draw.

The NFF has not yet issued an official response to Waldrum’s renewed allegations.

How Being Tagged ‘Arrogant’ Has Cost Me A Lot And Affected My Brand – BBNaija Star, CeeC Opens Up (Video)

Reality TV star Cynthia Nwadiora, popularly known as CeeC, has reflected on how people perceive her personality, revealing that many fans often misinterpret her confidence as arrogance.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate shared her thoughts during a chat with Teddy A on the Echo Room podcast.

During the conversation, she explained that living in Nigeria comes with a challenge where people easily follow negative labels without taking time to know a person.

She said that once someone is tagged as a bad person, many others accept it without meeting the individual involved.

Ceec said this has affected how some people see her brand, as many assume she is arrogant even before having any personal interaction with her.

She added that anyone who meets her in person will realise she is different from the image created online and will likely change their opinion about her.

She also mentioned that she tries her best to give people a better understanding of who she is whenever they meet her, hoping they leave with a clearer and more accurate impression.

She said: “As I said, I usually live in Nigeria, where a lot of people follow the bad work. Like if somebody says Oh, this person is a bad person, people don’t even wait to experience you. They just, oh yeah, they say she’s a bad person.

“So people don’t actually get to know you. So yeah, a lot of people see my confidence as being arrogant.

“But I would say something that you cannot meet me in person or experience me as a person, and go home and say I’m arrogant. You would definitely have a change of mindset about me.

“So it has cost me a lot, because I hear some people say, oh, that one, she’s just arrogant. You don’t even know me, but that’s what you, you know, like.

“So it has, but one thing that I’ve tried to do is I make sure that when you meet me, when you give me the grace to get to know me, you will not go home feeling that way.”

EFCC Seizes Late Buhari’s Ex Minister, Malami’s Passport As $490 Million Abacha Loot Probe Deepens

On Saturday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seized the international passport of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, as investigations into the recovery of Abacha loot intensify.

The seizure forms part of the ongoing probe into the movement of $490 million Abacha loot, earlier secured through Mutual Legal Assistance (MLAT).

Malami is now barred from travelling out of Nigeria for one month, following strict bail conditions tied to his temporary release.

It was gathered that the condition for his release at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday was that he report daily for interaction at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

The former AGF is expected to provide detailed clarifications to the EFCC regarding the movement and location of the said funds in the coming month.

According to The Nation, a fact sheet disclosed that Malami has multiple issues requiring clarification with the commission over the next 30 days.

It stated, “We have asked him to explain the whereabouts of $490 million Abacha loot secured through Mutual Legal Assistance (MLAT).

“We didn’t say he stole money, but he should account for the loot. This is one of the issues he will clarify to our investigators.

“Considering the huge volumes of documents he has to go through and the detectives he needs to interact with, we have seized his international passport.

“One of the conditions for his release on bail at 1 am on Saturday was that he should report daily to the EFCC headquarters for interaction.

“He cannot travel out of the country except as mutually agreed with EFCC or with the permission of a High Court.

“We won’t join issues with him on his braggadoci,o but we will release our findings to the public after painstaking investigation.”

I Don’t Have To Play Against Him – Calvin Bassey Happy Over Osimhen’s Failed Premier League Move

Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey has praised Victor Osimhen as a “deadly” striker, noting that he is relieved his national teammate did not make a move to the English Premier League.

Bassey sees Osimhen at the same level as Manchester City goal machine, Erling Haaland.

Before settling for Turkish giants, Galatasaray, Osimhen was heavily linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

But none of the speculated moves could materialise and Bassey, who plays his football at Fulham, expressed mixed feelings about his international teammate’s move.

“He’s unbelievable. What he does for the country, what he’s done in the Champions League is amazing, a deadly striker,” Bassey said to Stadium Astro.

“I was kind of happy and upset at the same time that he didn’t come to the Premier League.

“It would have been good for him, but I’m happy I don’t have to play against him.”

Bassey confirmed that Osimhen is very much interested in moving to the Premier League.
