I’ve Not Had A Phone Since 2015 – Ed Sheeran

Grammy-winning British singer/songwriter, Ed Sheeran has revealed that since 2015, he has not had a mobile phone.

In a recent podcast chat, he shared that he ditched his phone due to the constant pressure to reply to messages and the loss of real-life interactions.

Instead, he uses an iPad and prefers email, which allows him to respond at his own pace.

Ed Sheeran admitted that having a phone made him feel obligated to respond instantly, leading to stress and rudeness when he ignored messages.

Now, he enjoys uninterrupted face-to-face conversations and a more peaceful life.

Despite his busy schedule, including upcoming performances at Lucca Summer Festival, Hurricane Festival, and Rock in Rio, Sheeran is committed to his phone-free lifestyle.

Why I Don’t Believe That Artists Don’t Care About Success – Ed Sheeran

World-famous British musician Ed Sheeran has expressed his views on fellow artists who assert they’re in the music business out of passion rather than striving for success.

Appearing on a recent episode of Therapuss With Jake Shane, the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker categorically stated that he doesn’t believe such claims.

According to him, if those artists truly don’t care about success, they wouldn’t release their music commercially or sign with record labels.

The multiple Grammy-winning singer argued that all artists want to be successful and famous, emphasising that those who say they don’t care about success only say that because it “sounds cool.”

Sheeran added that anyone in the pop scene “definitely cares” about success.

He said: “I don’t believe any artist that says they don’t, otherwise, you wouldn’t release music because you’d be like, ‘If I don’t care what people think, then why would I even put it out?’ You’d just sort of make the music and be like, ‘Well, that’s made me feel good.’

“All artists, we want to be loved. That’s why we are on stage. And that’s why you sign to a record company, to go, ‘I would like people to hear the music that I’m making.’ I don’t really subscribe to this whole, like, not caring thing. That’s all a kind of ruse, because it sounds cool to say but every artist wants people to like their music.

“It really pisses me off when people are like, ‘Oh I don’t care how it does.’ I’m like, ‘F*cking shut up! You do! Everyone does.’ Anyone in the pop game definitely cares.”

Fireboy DML shared a video 5 days ago which hinted a remix is coming featuring an unknown Uk artiste on the 24th December, before Ed sheeran confirmed it.

“He said, “Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song.” And I’ve just found it really intriguing. So I recorded a verse for it… and it’s a song that’s blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment and their club scene runs over Christmas. “So you basically put a song to the club in the middle of December, which would seem a weird thing to do in England. But yeah, so I’ve done the remix for this song, but this is the original and it’s just, it’s an earworm, and it’s addictive, and I’m obsessed with it. I mean, Cherry will tell you, I’ve had this song on repeat constantly in the house for the last week.

Buju and Maleek Berry have hit covers for Peru and alot of Nigerian artistes have recorded and shared their versions online since the song dropped in July.
