Victor Osimhen has been inundated with congratulatory messages from fans and notable entertainment figures, despite no official confirmation.
Dursun Özbek, the Galatasaray president, has stated that Victor Osimhen will not be forced to leave the club in January.
Osimhen linked up with the Yellow and Reds from Serie A club, Napoli on loan in September.
There is a clause in the contract which allow the striker to move to another club in January.
The 25-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Özbek however believed the NigerIan will remain at the club for the remainder of the campaign.
‘”He is our player this season. There is a very difficult clause for him to leave at mid-season. According to our agreement, he will play for us until the end of the season,” he told A Spor.
“No one should bend him. He will make his own decision at the end of the season. If he wants to continue at Galatasaray, he can.”
In what will come across as a really devastating development, armed robbers ambushed the El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club team bus at Rijiyar Malam village along the Jos-Bauchi road in Bauchi State, injuring several players and officials.
Daily Trust gathered that the team were travelling for a league match when the ugly incident happened.
Personal Assistant to the Technical Adviser of the Club, Suleiman Abdullahi, told Daily Trust that the incident occurred around 12:45 midnight on Saturday.
“We were on our way from Jos to Maiduguri when the armed robbers ambushed our two buses. They fired sparodically, stopped the buses and a saloon car. They ordered all the occupants out of the buses.
“They attacked us with machetes and sticks, robbed us of our money, handsets and valuables. In the process, more than 10 players and officials were injured.
“After the incident the victims were rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi where they were treated. We later reported the matter to the GRA Police Station in Bauchi and subsequently the team moved to Maiduguri.”
The Bauchi Police Command Spokesman SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the incident, saying that the Secretary of the Kanemi Warriors Football Club, Dahiru Bala, reported the matter to the police.
Wakil said, “Presently our officers and men from the tactical command have been given directives by the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, to intensify efforts and arrest the perpetrators of this dastardly act.
“Moreso the players that were robbed of their valuables can get in touch with the command through the command rescue me application to be able to trace and track their stolen phones.”
Xabi Alonso, the Bayer Leverkusen manager, is expected to sanction forward Victor Boniface for reckless driving.
Boniface is under scrutiny for using his mobile phone while driving recklessly on a highway in Germany.
The Nigeria international posted a picture of himself scrolling his phone while driving his Mercedes Benz.
The 23-year-old has come under intense criticism for his actions.
“I don’t like it, it’s obviously not good, and of course, it’s not allowed to happen. I haven’t seen Boni, but he knows it’s not allowed,”Alonso told BeIN Sports.
“We have to tell him he’s not allowed to do something like this.”

Florentino Perez, the Real Madrid president, has hit out at journalists from four countries who ignored Vinicius Junior during the 2024 Ballon d’Or voting.
Rodri was named winner of this year’s prize ahead of Vinicius at an event in Paris in October.
The development divided opinions in world football as controversy trailed the announcement.
Perez has now slammed journalists from four countries who completely ignored Vinicius during the voting process.
He said, “If the journalists from Namibia, Uganda, Albania and Finland had not voted, Vinicius would be the Ballon d’Or [winner].
“These countries did not give Vinicius a single vote. Not one! The Finn, at least, has resigned. And he has said that he will not be part of the jury again. Look, I appreciate it.”
