The announcement was made through a cinematic teaser that establishes the project’s unabashedly African, self-assured, and international nature.
The A-Pop era’s visual manifesto is presented in the trailer. Tyla describes the project as an evolution where she is “settled in” and has a better understanding of her path as she describes the shift into this next stage of her career.
She clarified that although her debut seemed like a “rush,” she now knows exactly what she wants to convey in an interview with Rolling Stone. Tyla told i-D Magazine that the album’s 19 tracks “really reflect” where she is in her life right now, shifting from the initial pressure of a huge debut to a sound that emerged organically.
