Afeez Agoro Oladimiji, the popular reality TV star and actor, who was widely recognized as the tallest man in Nigeria died on Wednesday, June 14.

The Nation reports that Agoro’s burial arrangement has commenced at his residence in Community road, Akoka.

Below are the things to Know about the man who was Nigeria’s tallest man.

1. Afeez Agoro was unofficially considered as the Nigeria’s tallest person.

2. He was 7 feet 4.58 inches tall.

3. He was born on December 13, 1975 at Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.

4. He was 48.

5. Afeez and his family moved to Akoka, Yaba, at age seven.

6. He was raised in Akoka, where he also received his secondary education.

7. He attended the University of Lagos and Lagos State Polytechnic.

8. Agoro was a normal child when he was born

9. His growth surge started after completing secondary school and reaching 19.

10. He weighed 8 pounds at birth, which was average for a baby, and was just like any other regular newborn infant.

11. In an interview with The Nation in 2019, Agoro revealed he was not the tallest boy during his secondary school days, he was just a regular youngster with a regular height.

12. He was a reality TV star who featured in some Nollywood movies.

13. Agoro’s last post on Facebook was on May 28 after he recovered from hip replacement.

I Walked Out Of UNILAG Post-UTME After 5th Attempt To Pursue Music Career – Crayon

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Crayon has opened up on how he walked out of an examination hall to pursue his music career.

The ‘Ijo (Laba Laba)’ crooner artist made this revelation in a chat with HipTV.

According to Crayon, he exited the University of Lagos, UNILAG during his post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME test after five attempts to pursue a career in music.

The Mavin-signed singer said he couldn’t manage music and school as a result of stress.

He said he had a conversation with his parents about doing music and his dad persuaded him to attempt UTME for the fifth time.

According to the singer, a music friend named Baby Fresh, whom he met, inspired him to make a “big sacrifice” for his career.

He (Cray) said, “I won’t be able to juggle school and music at the same time because in Nigeria it’s quite stressful.

“I sat my parents down. I was like, ‘Mum and Dad, I want to make music.’ I said I feel like that’s what my heart is going for. My dad said just try this fifth one, if it doesn’t work out, you can go ahead and do music.

“So I met Baby Fresh already. It was just a moment when I had to make that big sacrifice.”

Crayon, said he had to call a friend for support, adding that he lied to his parents about not being on the school’s admission list.

“I was in UNILAG writing my post-UTME and I walked out and everyone was just looking at me like, ‘Who is the guy? How?’ Like, ‘Why would you do this after waiting for so long?’” the singer said.

“I had to call my friend Julius. I was like, ‘I just did the craziest thing in my life.’ He was like, ‘You just told God you’re serious.’ So I just lied to my parents that I wrote the exam but my name didn’t come out.”

She’s Now My Wife – Portable Confirms Marriage To Actress Ashabi

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable has confirmed that he’s a married man.
This comes following his marriage to actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, professionally known as Ashabi Simple.
The singer had days ago welcomed his fifth child with his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple.
Speaking during the naming ceremony on Tuesday in a video shared on the internet, Portable confirmed his marriage with the upcoming Yoruba actress.
He said: “A stubborn child has eventually become a housewife. She is now a housewife. Praise Allah.”
 
In a post on social media, the singer had earlier disclosed plans to have 12 wives before he clocks 40.
He said: “I’m not up to 30 years, I already have six wives with many children. Before I reach 40, my housewives would be up to a dozen (12). I just want to inform you so you would be aware.”

Chef Dammy Congratulates Guinness World Record Holder, Hilda Baci

Nigerian Chef, Damilola Adeparusi has congratulated Hilda Baci, the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking hours by a single individual.
Adeparusi sent her congratulatory message after Guinness confirmed the record.
Recall that Guinness had on Tuesday adjusted the record from 100 hours to 93 hours 11 minutes.
The post reads, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.
 
“The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.
 
“Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”
 
Reacting to this, Chef Dammy, in a post via her Twitter page, expressed appreciation to Hilda for being a huge motivation.
She wrote: “Congratulations to the best and biggest chef in Nigeria. This is surely the beginning of greater things to come. More wins are surely coming your way ma’am. Thank you for being a huge motivation.”

Superstar Afrobeats artiste, Davido has disclosed that he was disappointed in himself following his rift with his wife, Chioma.

The ‘Unavailable’ crooner said he could have done better because his wife is an amazing person.

Davido disclosed this in a recent episode of ABTalks podcast.

He, however, said he has long reconciled with Chioma.

The podcast host, Anas Bukhash asked: “When was David most disappointed in David?”

Davido responded: “Probably, when me and my wife [Chioma] first had like a little rift. I thought I could have done better because she is an amazing person.

“I think that was the only time I messed up. But I have fixed it [laughs].”

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable has revealed the number of women he is currently taking care of.
This is as he declared himself a responsible man.
He said some men could barely cater for one woman but he takes care of 20.
The ‘Zazu’ crooner advised young men to make money first before flirting or settling for a relationship or marriage, stressing that women only love rich men.
He stated this in a video message shared via his social media page.
The father of five said, “Some men can’t take care of a woman, talk less of 20 women. (sic)
 
“I’m a responsible man. Fear who don’t fear women. I love women. I take care of women. I’m a hustler. I’m a lover man.
 
“Make money before love. If you have money women will chase after you. If you don’t have money you will never be perfect. Your caring would be like disturbance.”
 
“Try to be yourself. Hustle for yourself. I’m responsible for myself because of my future,” Portable added.

I Don’t Make Music For Poor People – Rapper Speed Darlington

Darlington Okoye, the Nigerian US-based music artist, who is also known as Speed Darlington, has made a new claim.

He said unlike many of his colleagues, he doesn’t make music for “poor people”.

He stated this in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by actor, Nedu, Husband Material and Diety Cole.

Speed Darlington said Audiomack streaming platform is for poor people.

He said, “I don’t m*ss with Audiomack. Audiomack is for poor people. My music is not for the poor.

“If you no get money, you can’t have my song.”

Fuel Subsidy: Singer, Joeboy Provides Free Bus Rides For Lagos Residents

Joseph Akinwale, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Joeboy has made a new announcement.

The singer announced plans to provide residents of Lagos with free buses to help cushion the effect of the hike in transportation fares.

Joeboy made the announcement via his Twitter page on Tuesday.

The buses, which according to him will ply some popular routes in Lagos, will be free and run between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.

Joeboy said the initiative was borne out of his genuine desire to help cushion the effect of the economic condition which he said was as hard on people.

“I know the fuel subsidy p is hard on everyone right now so here’s my little way of helping. For the next 3 days, there will be FREE Body & Soul buses along the following routes between 8 am and 5 pm.
