Lagos Is Better Than Any City In The World – Davido Declares

David Adeleke, the Nigerian superstar singer, who is known globally as Davido may have been born in Atlanta, United States of America and seen almost every city of the world, but the Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) has a thing for the city of aquatic splendour.

He made this known in the interview with Apple Music leading up to the release of his “Timeless” album last year.

Although he admits that New York and some other cities have the vibes of their own, he places Lagos as being up there with any city, in terms of energy and vibes.

“Yeah, Lagos is like New York. Okay. I’ll say there are cities that I’ve been to and  I can say New York is cool. I haven’t been to Tokyo, but somewhere like Tokyo. London, definitely Kingston. Kingston. Lagos is very, very fast-paced. The horns. The market. And everything is in Lagos. You have the parts in Lagos where it looks like Miami. You got the parts in Lagos where it looks like … You know what I’m saying? So everything is Lagos. That city is a whole country in one, kind of. And I’ll say this every time, if you can survive in Lagos, you can survive anywhere in the world,” he says.

“The vibe in Lagos, musically for me, that’s where I go back. And it is also called tapping in with the streets. We travel so much. We are touring. You know what I’m saying? We never really get time to be at home. So every time I get home, I’m so excited. I’m like, “Yeah!”,” he adds

Davido  also reveals his favourite place where he can listen to music away from being a “superstar” with some form of comfort and serenity. And Lagos also pops up in his diary.

“So funny. I concentrate the most on a plane. I don’t join no wifi. I put my headphones in and I just go through records and I just really listen. That’s when I’m really tapped out. That’s one place I really focus.

“Yeah, I like that. But I definitely love when it comes to recording and curating records, I love being at home in Lagos. Even if I record in a studio out here or in Atlanta, or wherever the idea is from, I always bring it to Lagos,” he states.

Davido may soon be in court as he has just sued his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu for co-custody of his daughter, Imade Adeleke.

Burna Boy didn’t pay medical bills of all patients – UPTH clarifies

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH debunks reports that superstar singer, Burna Boy covered all medical bills for patients during a recent visit.

It would be recalled that the singer made headlines some days ago following his charitable acts in Port Harcourt, including paying medical bills, foodstuff giveaways, paid lunch worth N4M at a popular market, etc.

The hospital, however, clarified that Burna Boy only settled the bills of selected patients, contrary to claims that he paid all outstanding bills.

This clarification came after several blogs and news sites reported earlier this week that Burna Boy had paid the hospital bills for all patients.

The institution’s spokesperson, Elabha Meni clarified this in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday while applauding the singer’s kind heart.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patients’ bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare costs,” Meni stated.
