Don Jazzy, the Nigerian Music mogul, has revealed that he once made an attempt to sell his record label, Mo’hit Records, for a a paltry sum of one million naira.
In an exclusive interview with Bounce Radio, Don Jazzy revealed that the struggling period followed the release of D’banj’s single “Tongolo”, which failed to yield the expected financial success.
The music mogul confirmed that he approached Nigerian music executive Obi Asika with the proposal, but the deal ultimately fell through.
Temilade Openiyi, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Tems, has described her ordeal in Ugandan prison as a blessing in disguise.
According to the ‘Crazy Things’ crooner, she felt honoured to have experienced prison.
Tems explained that she wouldn’t have known what prisoners were going through if she hadn’t had the experience herself.
She emphasised that her prison experience humbled her.
“Prison was once in a lifetime experience that I actually feel honoured to have had because otherwise, I would never have thought about these people, and to be in their presence was very humbling,” Tems told ES Magazine.
Recall that Tems and Omah Lay were arrested and charged to court and subsequently detained in prison in Uganda for making an appearance at a concert held in the country at Speke Resort, Kampala, on December 12, 2020, despite COVID-19 social distancing regulations.
They were eventually granted bail after two nights in jail.
ASUU Holds Crucial NEC Meeting
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU will hold an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
The crucial meeting, scheduled to take place at the ASUU Secretariat, will see the gathering of the union’s principal officers, national officers, zonal coordinators, and branch chairmen from across the nation to deliberate on pressing welfare issues affecting its members.
In preparation for the meeting, notifications have been sent to all those expected to participate, ensuring robust attendance for comprehensive discussions.
This gathering follows a prior meeting held at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, where specific tasks were assigned to zonal coordinators and branch chairmen.
A source, who preferred to remain anonymous, informed SunNewspaper that the agenda for the upcoming meeting would include a review of these assignments and further discussions on unresolved issues.
However, the source did not confirm whether the Federal Government had introduced any new proposals or taken decisive actions regarding the outstanding grievances that necessitated this emergency NEC meeting.
The source stated, “I am not aware of any new government positions on our demands. We have many outstanding demands that require the attention of the Federal Government. Several letters were written and no positive response.
“One thing that I can tell you is that our members are agitated over the withheld salaries, non-payment of the academic earned allowances, and other issues affecting public universities in the country, which the government has refused to address.”

Controversial Nigerian influencer, Saida Boj has taken a swipe at Paul Okoye, stating that he ended his marriage with his ex-wife, Anita to date a young gold digger.
Recall that Paul Okoye had taken to social media to speak on how young girls of nowadays are being mislead on social media.
Saida who opined that the words were for her took to her Instagram page to heavily berate the musician.
According to her, he criticizes the practice of young women but left his wife to follow one.
