Nationwide Protest: DJ Switch Shares Her Two cents

Popular Nigerian disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh aka DJ Switch, has reacted to the planned nationwide protest from August 1 to 15.

Nigerians are planning to protest over the economic hardship in the country.

In her post, DJ Switch who became popular for her coverage of the shooting incident at the Lekki tollgate during the EndSARS protest, said she supports the forthcoming protest and tried to explain why Nigerians should also stand for it.

She wrote;

‘’I was not going to speak on this issue because I’ve experienced first hand the cowardice of many Nigerians but my love for Nigeria is literally haunting me! So here it goes:

They say that there is a time for everything. A time to sleep, play, work, fight or die! Africa as a whole needs to know what fu*king time it is!

If you recognize what time it is, then you know what to do! Mind you, the cabals running Nigeria, Nigeria especially are smarter than you all might think. While they may be on edge about this planned protest, especially after seeing the events in Kenya, I promise you that they can bet their left balls that nothing will happen. That being said, many have been advised to “show” support for our fundamental human right to freedom of expression for two reasons:

1. So that there is a record of them supporting it and;

2. To guide you all like babies to do your protest and go and sleep.

So, the question really is this, do you know what time it is? Because if you don’t, just kukuma go and sleep and  If you do, then prepare to take the bull by the horn.

You need to understand that whether you japa or stay, they don’t care! Nigeria is a mining ground for these devils. They take and take with no single thought or care as to where the nation ends up… wasteland!

The tribal division they’ve sown amongst us was a desperate move on their broken chessboard which should have fallen flat on its face but there are those of us who are so selfish, shortsighted and wicked. They will sell their children for the brown envelope. These unfortunate Nigerians that traded their brains and patriotism for alomo bitters are a huge obstacle to those of us that want a working nation. I don’t care what tribe you are from or religion you belong to, we NEED to unite if we want actual change.

I’m expecting the bots to call me all sorts of names as usual, like I give a shit! Mosquito disturb me pass those ones. But if you keep missing your opportunity to send these thieves back to where they belong then soon you all will be like the girl/boy who cried wolf!

Vector was reportedly traveling with musical collaborators Lizwi Wokuqala and Puleng Phoofolo when the tragic crash happened in the Free State on Wednesday evening

His former record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, confirmed the news on Wednesday evening.

“With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of a shining beacon; the Lion of Lesotho’s sun has set. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones and industry peers during this time of profound loss,” the label stated.

The Free State Department of Health reported that three men were declared dead at the scene of an accident on the N1 near the Koppies turn-off close to Kroonstad.

Two other individuals, a man and a woman, were transported to Boitumelo Regional Hospital with injuries.

A source revealed to News24 that Malome Vector was traveling from Gauteng through the Free State to his home country of Lesotho to shoot a music video when the accident occurred around 13:00.

The vehicle he was in collided with a heavy motor vehicle.

Among the occupants were his musical collaborators Lizwi Wokuqala and Puleng Phoofolo.

Hillary Mophethe of the Free State Department of Transport indicated that a burst tire might have caused the driver to lose control, but the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The label discovered him through social media and facilitated a meeting in Lesotho, setting the stage for his rapid ascent.

Producer Once Rejected Me Because I Didn’t Have Enough IG Followers – Deyemi Okanlawon

Nigerian actor, Deyemi Okanlawon has shared the challenges he faced in the Nollywood industry before he got a breakthrough.
The 45-year-old while speaking with the Echoo Room said when he ventured into Nollywood, his priority was more on the craft than the business aspect of acting

The movie star also recalled how a producer turned him down because his social media presence was not strong enough.

“Honestly, I focused more on the craft than the business aspect of the craft, especially the brand-building part of acting. It occurred to me that the more noise you had, the more it seemed you would get ahead,” he said.
“I remember one producer wanted me on a project and when I said this is what I want as a fee, they were like but you don’t have that many Instagram followers. I would tell myself I’m the guy who comes to kill himself on set.

“Why am I being judged by the number of Instagram followers I have? I said to myself, There is no point fighting it. There is always going to be a new set of people who focus more on the brand than they are on the craft. So I said, let me start some brand-building.”

Deyemi said his persistence paid off when he was called to work with top producers like Funke Akindele, Kunle Afolayan, Kemi Adetiba, and Mo Abudu.
“… the first call came from Funke Akindele, the next was Kemi Adetiba, then Mo Abudu, Niyi Akimoloyan and Kunle Afolayan,” he said.
“In my mind, I was thinking but I’m done, then I thought I need to feed my family so I’m going to do this job. At the end of 2020, Omo Ghetto the Saga hit the cinemas and became the highest-grossing movie and I was the lead actor. I also became the highest-grossing actor at the time too.”

The Inter Miami captain wrote on his Instagram story:

“Insolito (Spanish).” “Unbelievable (English).”
