BBNaija 10: I Was Nominated Because People Saw Me as Threat – Sultana

Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Sultana has revealed why housemates nominated her for Week 5 eviction.
Recall that the nominations held on Monday evening before Biggie announced the week will be eviction free.
Biggie had also reintroduced the traditional nomination style on Monday, where housemates were tasked with nominating two fellow housemates for possible eviction.
It replaced the format where all housemates are up for eviction, which had been in place since the start of the season.
During her diary session with Biggie on Tuesday afternoon, Sultana revealed that she was nominated because other housemates saw her as a threat in the game.
She suggested that she is a strategic player who would prioritize eliminating strong opponents over weaker ones.
She said, “I was nominated because people see me as competition. Because if I was given the power to take out people, I will not take out weak people, I will take out the strong people that will give me problem later.”
In a surprising twist, the nominations were nullified after Rooboy, the Head of House, after he drew a power from the Tree of Trinkets that read “Nullify Nominations”.
This means that no housemate will be evicted based on the nominations, and the game continues with all housemates safe for the week.

There Is No More Corruption in Nigeria – President Tinubu Tells Brazil’s President

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has claimed that there is no more corruption in Nigeria.
He stated this while assuring Brazilian investors that Nigeria’s economic reforms are yielding results.
The President gave the assurance on Monday during a meeting with ministers from both countries and members of the Brazil Business Group.
He emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to deepening partnerships in areas such as technology transfer, food security, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
Describing Nigeria as a “vast, untapped market full of opportunities for Brazilian companies,” Tinubu acknowledged that the reforms introduced by his government were “initially painful, but today the result is blossoming.”

“It’s getting clearer to the people. We have more money for the economy, and no more corruption,” he said.
Highlighting efforts to entrench transparency, the President referenced operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria. “You don’t have to know him before getting the foreign exchange you need. The speculators are out. In our currency market, the door is open for businesses.”
Looking back on his earlier visits to Brazil, the Nigerian president stressed the need to shift from symbolic relations to practical economic collaboration.

“We have allowed some problems and activities in the past to deter us from making progress and fulfilling our promises, but today we say that is the end of that.”
In a statement released by presidential spokesperson Mr. Bayo Onanuga, it was disclosed that President Tinubu attended a state luncheon at the Itamaraty Palace, where talks focused on strengthening economic cooperation, boosting trade, and promoting innovation-driven partnerships.
The signing of new bilateral agreements is set to enhance collaboration between Nigeria and Brazil, creating new avenues for sustainable development and technological exchange.

BBNaija 10: Biggie Declares Week 5 Free Eviction Week

Biggie has announced Week 5 as eviction free week.
This happened after Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemates had named housemates for possible eviction.
It all happened after housemates had gathered in the sitting room on Monday evening for nominations, following the old nomination style where each housemate nominates two people for possible eviction.
The housemates took turns nominating two fellow housemates for possible eviction.
Following the nominations, Big Brother called out six housemates – Ivatar, Faith, Thelma, Zita, Tracy, and Sultana
Rooboy, the Head of House, was asked to draw a power from the Tree of Trinkets.
The power revealed that nominations were nullified, ultimately rendering all nominations void.
“Head of house Rooboy, you have drawn the power to nullify nominations, this means your nominations are null and void. Is this clear? It means the whole house is safe and free from eviction for the week”. Biggie said.
The housemates responded with a clap, relieved that none of them would be evicted based on the nominations.

ASUU Threatens Nationwide Strike Over FG’s Inaction on 2009 Agreement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Akure Zone has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike.
Speaking on Monday, August 25, ASUU stated that it is mobilising members across the country for a nationwide rally scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
According to the union, the move is part of ongoing efforts to pressure the Federal Government to address its long-standing demands.
The Zonal Coordinator, Adeola Oyebisi Egbedokun, made this known during a press conference at the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti. He described the rallies as the union’s first decisive response to the government’s continued inaction, warning that the protests signal what lies ahead if concerns remain unaddressed.
Egbedokun noted that the rallies will hold simultaneously across universities nationwide, with academic activities suspended during the demonstrations.
According to him, the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU has given the government until its scheduled meeting of August 28 to respond to the union’s demands, after which the next line of action would be determined.
“For over two years, we have kept faith with dialogue and refrained from strikes, but our patience has reached its limit. If the government continues to play games with the future of our universities, then it must bear the consequences of the storm that will follow,” he warned.
The union listed its demands to include: re-negotiation of the 2009 ASUU-FGN Agreement, opposition to the TISSF loan scheme—which it described as financial coercion—halting the proliferation of universities, and improved retirement benefits for professors and staff.
Egbedokun also urged members of the public, including the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council (NIREC), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), traditional rulers, and the National Assembly, to prevail on the government to avert an avoidable confrontation.
He accused the government of hypocrisy and neglect, citing the abandonment of the Yayale Ahmed report, the “debt trap” of the TISSF loan scheme, unchecked establishment of new universities, and the alleged poor treatment of retired academics.

“This government has chosen to mock knowledge, insult scholars, and trample on the foundation of the nation’s future. Enough is enough,” he declared.
He stressed that the burden of averting a crisis now rests solely on the government, saying:
“The ball is no longer in our court. It is squarely in theirs. Let them choose: justice or judgment, action or upheaval, peace or storm.”

“I will buy private jet after Wizkid buys one” – Tunde Ednut

Former Nigerian singer turned blogger Tunde Ednuthas stirred reactions online after publicly mocking music star Wizkid over not owning a private jet.

The drama began when a fan asked Tunde Ednut when he would purchase his own jet, like his friend Davido.

Tunde Ednut replied, saying he would do so after Wizkid buys his own, adding, “After Wizkid, by God’s grace.”

This isn’t the first time Tunde Ednut has sparked tension with Wizkid. In 2021, Tunde referred to Wizkid as his younger brother while praising him for a performance, which drew criticism from fans.

In a previous confrontation involving Davido, Wizkid had implied that Tunde needed deliverance and noted he doesn’t diss disabled individuals.

The jet discussion comes shortly after Davido celebrated his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, purchasing a third private jet.

This follows a year after Davido himself bought a $75 million private jet and recently held a lavish wedding in Miami.

90% of Nigerian Men Cheat – Actress Bimbo Akintola

Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has made a revelation.
According to her, 90% of men cheat.
She made the statement during a podcast interview with fellow actress Ayo Adesanya.
Akintola alleged that a significant majority of Nigerian men cheat on their partners, citing a staggering 90 to 99 percent figure.
The 55-year-old attributed this behavior to cultural and generational patterns, stating that many men are raised in environments where infidelity is normalized.
She explained that some men even learn cheating behaviors from their fathers, who may have multiple partners or girlfriends.
According to the actress, this cultural influence is deeply ingrained, making it challenging for women to expect fidelity in relationships.
She said, “I don’t know where this idea of fidelity in Africa came from. Your father cheats, your grandfather cheated, my father has two wives.

“I can’t tell you whether to stay or leave but you leave this one and move to the next one, you still have the same issue. They all cheat, 90 percent of them cheat, it’s engraved in them.

“I know you might want to change them but I hear characters are fully formed when you’re seven years old. Some of them started by following their daddy to girlfriends’ house.

“I’m not excusing it don’t get me wrong, I am just being realistic when it comes to these kinds of situation.”
