Tinubu: Toyin Abraham Under Attack Over Movie Role In ‘Gangs Of Lagos’

Nigerians on social media have attacked Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham for playing a role that is contrary to her political belief after featuring in the recently released movie, ‘Gangs of Lagos.’
Recall that top Nollywood stars stormed the ‘Gang of Lagos’ movie premiere which held on Thursday night.
The movie was directed and produced by Jade Osiberu.
It tells a thrilling story about the bustling streets and neighborhoods of Isale Eko, Lagos.
The gritty, hard-hitting action film tells the story of a group of childhood friends trying to navigate the challenges of growing up and making their way into the world.
Amongst the cast, is Toyin Abraham, who played the role of a gubernatorial candidate canvassing for votes by urging the electorates to vote out the ruling government that had held the state hostage for years.
Reacting to the movie, a lot of Nigerians on social media called out the actress for portraying a different character in real life.
Recall, Toyin had thrown her weight behind the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress,(APC) Bola Tinubu in the just concluded general elections, ignoring dissenting voices of her choice of candidate who many, particularly youths deem not fit to lead the country.
Reacting to the actress’ role, one Kylian wrote: “Toyin Abraham talking about “aren’t you tired of the same government they’ve held the state hostage enrages me. They set her up in this movie.”
Sir Allen wrote, “It’s now Toyin Abraham is low key attacking Tinubu and APC In the movie but supporting them in real world.”
SF Tolu wrote, “Toyin Abraham must have forgotten all she said in the gangs of Lagos before declaring her support for BAT. National cake yen gangan ni problem.”
Omotoke wrote, “Toyin Abraham playing the role of a gubernatorial candidate complaining that a particular party has been in power for too long, in Gangs of Lagos is so ironical. I am like ”Ehen? This you Aunty Toyin.”

Victor Osimhen Closes In On George Weah’s Record, Hails Liberian Legend

Victor Osihmen has reacted as he closes in on George Weah’s record in the Serie A.
The star is about to become Africa’s top scorer in the Italian topflight.
The Nigerian striker, who joined Napoli in the the summer of 2020, has now scored 45 league goals for the Partenopei, just one shy of Weah’s record.
Between 1995 and 2000, Liberia’s George Weah registered 46 Serie A goals for AC Milan in 114 matches, making him Africa’s outright top scorer in Italian football.
But in just three seasons, Nigeria’s Osimhen is set to overtake the record, but he admits that the former Ballon d’Or winner and current president of Liberia remains one of the greatest African players.
In a chat with Wole Opatola via Moor Sportz YouTube Channel, Osimhen said:
“He (Weah) has to be considered as one of the greatest African strikers that graced the Serie A. I want to continue to do my best and continue to do well for myself and for my team.

“At the end of the season, I think I stand a chance to surpass him or meet the record. I didn’t have the opportunity of watching him play, and I have never met him.

“But I’m closer to his son Timothy Weah. His father is a huge example for us so that an African can also win the most prestigious prize in world football.”
