Phillip Kayode Moses, the Nigerian producer and singer, who is popularly known as Pheelz, has made a revelation about himself.

The Finesse crooner revealed this on a recent episode of the F&S Uncensored audiovisual podcast hosted by Feyikemi Akin-Bankole and Simi Badiru.

He said: “I talked to Bhadest [Davido], David my visa don comot. He was like, Bro if you can take the next flight to London, take it. So, I pulled up. The same cloth I wore to the visa office. I didn’t even pack my bags or anything. As I landed in London, I knew that AG [Adekunle Gold] was there, I hit up AG like, Bro, come to save me.

“If you look at the pictures from that show, my hair was rough. I didn’t even get a haircut. My trousers was, like, short because that was AG’s cloth. I took clothes from AG.”

My Dad Bankrolled Me When I Was With Wizkid’s Starboy Records – Singer, L.A.X Reveals

Damilola Afolabi, a Nigerian singer, who is better known as L.A.X has made a revelation.

He revealed that his billionaire dad intervened on his contract with Wizkid’s Starboy record when he was at the label.

The Ginger crooner disclosed this in a recent episode of the Echo Room audiovisual podcast hosted by Quincy Jonze.

According to him, his deal with Starboy Record was a partnership and not a recording deal.

L.A.X explained that his dad provided funds for his musical projects, and then his label boss, Wizkid, channelled the funds to the right marketing means.

He said: “When I took the Wiz’s contract to him, my dad no like all those signing things. He dey always feel like if you dey sign, you dey sign your life. And me, when I’m making business decisions, I make sure I asked him first. So, I went to meet him and said, “Daddy this is contract, Wiz wants to sign me.” And he was just like, why not let us do [a] partnership?

“He was like, partnership will be better for you and for him [Wizkid]. Once you guys just partner on that level, so you’re free to, like, do your own thing after. So, that’s what we did.”

He continued: “The thing about music is that bag [funds] is important. This is the truth, my popsy [dad] dey give me bags. But there is one thing that Wiz always does―he dey spend the bags.”

L.A.X added that it was Toyin Lawani who introduced him to Wizkid by playing his songs for him.

AMVCA: It Doesn’t Reduce My Value – Kunle Remi Brags After Nomination Snub

Kunle Remi, the Nigerian actor, has opened up, addressing his snub at the nominations of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA 2023.

Anikulapo, Kunle Afolayan’s 2022 movie, received the highest number of nominations at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Even though the movie was nominated in 15 categories with 16 nominations, Anikulapo’s lead actor, Kunle Remi, didn’t get one nomination.

The Anikulapo star, speaking on his exclusion from the AMVCA 2023 nomination list during an interview on the popular TV programme ‘Your View,’ brags that the snub did not in any way diminish him, his stylishness, fame or energy.

Asked about his opinion about the nomination, he said: “Nomination, well, I fell into the category of non-nominated artistes. It doesn’t reduce my value, fame and energy.”

Kunle Remi further revealed he is unshaken by the snub because his role as “Saro” was not taken because of an award but rather because of a challenge.

It was rumoured that Remi’s snub was a result of an interview he granted in which he alleged that a senior colleague tried to lure him into homosexuality.

Finding True Love Is Hard – Yetunde Bakare Says

Yetunde Bakare, the Nollywood actress, has talked about love, saying it is more difficult to find real love than to keep it.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “Finding true love is harder than keeping it. It is more complicated nowadays, because a lot of people have had bad experiences and they tend to withdraw easily in order to protect their peace and sanity.

“I believe one needs to love, value and discover oneself before thinking of a healthy relationship.”

She also debunked the notion that fame led to automatic happiness.

She said, “That is not totally true, because the rich also cry. If one is a people pleaser, one will have a lot of breakdowns keeping up with fame.

“When one is famous, the expectations from the public will be on the high side. People will hardly understand that one is human too.”

The ‘Modi Monso’ actress also stated that celebrities usually had mental health issues as a result of pressure from fans.

She said, “Celebrities have mental health issues due to the pressures from fans, and seeking unnecessary validations from the public.

“For me, I keep everything in check and I don’t follow the crowd. Nothing bothers me or gets to me, because I understand what I was getting into when I joined the industry.

“What also helps to keep my mental health in check is being content and staying focused on my personal growth. Anytime I feel stressed, I find someone to talk to, and once I let it all out, I’m absolutely fine. I know it’s not easy with some people, because they don’t have anybody to confide in.”

How My Muslim Teacher Prophesied That Mavin Records Will Sign Me – Ayra Starr

Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Ayra Starr, has gone down memory lane.

She recounted how one of her secondary school teachers prophesied when she was 14-year-old, that she will one day be signed by Mavin Records.

She said she wasn’t from a religious family but attended a Deeper Life school where she was constantly scolded for not following religious rules.

Ayra Starr appeared as a guest on the latest episode of Afrobeats Intelligence podcast hosted by Joey Akan.

She, however, said two of her male teachers encouraged her to take her passion for music seriously.

The ‘Sability’ crooner said her Mathematics teacher, a Muslim, not only encouraged her to join choir but also prophesied that Mavin Records will sign her in the future.

She said when she was 16, she posted a video of her singing on social media and Mavin boss, Don Jazzy messaged her.

She said, “I went to a very religious school even though I was not from a religious family. I went to a Deeper Life school. It was a shock but I learned how to live with it. They [some of the teachers] used to beat me. I grew up in a household where we are allowed to speak our truth and ask questions. I can remember they [my teachers in school] will tell me like oh women are not allowed to wear trousers. I will be like, that’s not true. God did not say that. They will be like, ‘what do you know, you this small girl?’.

“One time, I painted my nail pink, just one nail pink and one teacher saw it. I remember they knelt me down and all the teachers were just like, you can never be anything if you continue like this. I was like 13/14 and you have like all these female teachers around me saying that.

“I have a teacher that literally inspired me. He literally said I was going to be signed to Mavin. I was like 14 then and he was like, Mavin is going to sign you, start making videos. And he would just inspire me when I’m singing in school, he would be like, oh sing in the choir. And he was even Muslim but he would tell me to go to church and join the choir.”
