Billionaire daughter, Florence Otedola aka DJ Cuppy, has talked about the importance of having money.
The disc jockey who is currently in the Maldives, stated this while talking about how important it is to take time off to rest.
“Travel reminds me how important self-love is. Taking time for rest is essential, and there’s nothing like the feeling of being surrounded by inspiration,” she wrote.
“In short….having money helps for sure. Don’t let anyone lie to you.”
Veteran actress, Joke Silva, has said that movies cannot be shot in her home because of the number of people it takes to make a movie.
She also harped on the importance of having studios and sound stages in Nollywood.
Speaking during a recent youth development forum called, The Roundtable Lekki, Silva said, “We shoot in apartments these days. But, I won’t allow movies to be shot in my home; it won’t happen.
I know the number of people that are brought into a shoot. There may be two people in a scene, but to shoot it, there will probably be about 20 people there. That means 20 people will put their hands on my wall, block the loo, and do other things.
We need to build our studios and sound stages, just like American filmmaker, Tyler Perry, has done. He built one of the biggest sound stages in the world. The thing with sound stages is that there are usually facades. I once shot a movie in France, but all the interior shots were taken in London, United Kingdom.
All we did in France were the exteriors shots to give the ambience of that country. Sound stages give one control. It allows one to make movies at one’s desired pace.”
The respected actress added that streaming platforms had made it easy for filmmakers to exhibit their works.
She said, “Streaming platforms have made it easier for producers to be able to exhibit their works. Technology has done that for us. There is a wide range of opportunities right now when it comes to movie distributions. Streaming platforms help us connect to a global audience.”
Nigerian rapper, Speed Darlington who is known for his controversial views opines that it is more advisable to rent than to acquire a house in a location that is not one’s homeland.
According to him, owning a house in a different state or region would limit a person’s ability to relocate quickly in case of unforeseen circumstances. He suggested that renting a home as a non-native resident would be a more appropriate option than buying land.
In a video posted on his TikTok page, Speed Darlington argued that owning a house in a foreign location would impede one’s freedom.
“It’s better to rent than to buy houses, especially in another man’s land.
“If you buy a house, over time it [the place] gets crowded. [And] maybe you decide, I don’t like here anymore, e don cast; everybody know where I live now, I want to move to other part of the state or other part of the country.
“You can’t just pack your things and go. First, you need to sell that house. Only God knows when you are going to sell because not everybody has money to buy a house.
“So, now you are stuck at this address, and you can’t leave. Freedom is an asset.
“Freedom, the ability to pack up and disappear anytime. But if you rent, you can pack up and leave anytime.”

The excited music producer announced the purchase of his new luxury car in a video he shared on his Instagram page.
DJ YK Mule had bought a Benz SUV back in November 2022, and had taken it for a ride while being cheered on by his friends.

Popular Nigerian influencer, Salo, has called on the police to arrest controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky, over a viral video with a muscular man.
The video shows Bobrisky openly displaying affection and intimacy with a man while advertising s3xual enhancement products.
Salo urged the federal government to investigate the crossdresser’s activities, stating that it influences people negatively and does not make sense.

Daniel Regha, who stated that the singer’s source of income should be investigated, expressed that the new ride Portable added to his garage is a complete waste.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB held it’s rescheduled examination on Saturday, May 6 for candidates who could not sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, within their scheduled time, owing to no fault of theirs.
Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, who monitored the exercise, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the rescheduled examination.
Adamu, who was in the company of the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, monitored the exam at the Computer Based Test, CBT centre located in Mambila Barracks, Asokoro District of Abuja. expressed delight over the smooth conduct of the exercise.
He said: “I am very happy with what I have seen. Regarding the (temporary) holding room (for candidates), and the arrangement in where they are taking the examination, I think everything is in order”.
While saying no negative incident was recorded in the conduct of the UTME at the CBT centre, the minister, however, made a case for a temporary holding place for candidates waiting for the scheduled time of the exam.
“Everything is okay, have you seen any problem? Perhaps they should have a class for the holding room, I think that is the only improvement they will make here,” Adamu said.
Recall that the Board had on Tuesday released the results of candidates who had earlier taken part in the exam, which commenced on Tuesday, 25th April.
A total of 1,586,765 candidates indicated an interest in sitting for the 2023 UTME.
