Popular Nigerian music video director ThankGod Smith Omori, widely known as TG Omori, has opened up about his ongoing battle with kidney disease, describing the ordeal as a terrible experience no one should have to endure.

Omori has been battling the illness for months and has spent a lot of time in the hospital as his health continues to fluctuate.

In August 2024, he underwent a kidney transplant in an effort to improve his condition, but the procedure did not succeed.

Since then, his medical journey has been filled with repeated treatments and hospital visits.

While reflecting on the impact of the disease, the video director explained that kidney illness takes a heavy toll on both the body and finances.

He revealed that managing the condition requires constant spending, as survival often depends on regular medical care and pain control.

According to him, the pain that comes with kidney disease can be overwhelming, and many people lose their lives because they cannot cope with it or afford proper treatment.

Omori said that when someone is dealing with such an illness, money begins to lose its usual value because every available amount is spent just to stay alive.

He added that the cost of treatment often runs into millions, making it difficult for many patients to survive.

Despite the hardship, TG Omori expressed gratitude for still being alive, acknowledging that his survival has been possible through strength, support, and grace as he continues to fight the illness.

Ex-UFC Champion, Kamaru Usman Apologises After Private FaceTime Call With Anthony Joshua Is Shared Online

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has publicly apologized after a private FaceTime call with former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua was leaked online without his consent.

The clip, which appeared in a YouTube video shared by Usman on Wednesday, showed an emotional exchange between the two athletes following a fatal car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close friends.

The conversation took place on December 30 while Joshua was still recovering from injuries sustained in the crash and shortly before an MMA event in Lagos.

Joshua survived the accident on December 29 along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which killed the boxer’s close associates, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Joshua was pulled from the wreckage and rushed to Duchess International Hospital, where he received treatment. In the footage, the boxer is seen lying in a treatment room with bandages around his head and torso as he opens up to Usman about the loss. He admitted that the reality of what had happened was yet to fully register.

During the recorded call, Usman asked about the seating arrangement in the black Lexus at the time of the crash.

Joshua replied, “One was in the front and one was behind him, on the right side. They both passed away. It still hasn’t sunk in. It still hasn’t hit me yet.”

“I’m sorry for that, man. You scared the world, I’ll tell you that right now,”
Usman responded.

“Life is short, man. Life is short. And now look, I get to speak with you for the first time,”
Joshua said.

“I know. It’s a funny way how things move, you know? We thank God,”
Usman replied.

“You scared the world. It’s crazy because, obviously, we deal with the haters and all the bull**** every time, and it sucks that it takes something serious like this to really see how many people have their eyes on you,”
Usman added.

The release of the clip sparked criticism online, with many questioning why such a sensitive moment had been made public. Responding to the backlash via his Instagram story on Thursday, Usman accepted responsibility and apologised for not keeping the conversation private.

He wrote, “After seeing what’s being written, it’s quite heartbreaking. Being on camera that whole day in preparation for The AKO Show, it completely slipped my mind that my conversation was recorded.

“I realised afterwards and asked about it. I take full responsibility for not properly reviewing the video that was released and for failing to keep my private conversation with my brother, AJ, private. SMH. Big L on me. That’s not something I would ever do to a friend or brother.”

Ned Nwoko Reacts After Regina Daniels Shared Result Of Drug Test To Dispute His Allegations That She’s An Addict

Nigerian Senator, Ned Nwoko has responded after his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, took a drug test and made the results public.

The result of the test, done in the UK, showed that the actress had no drugs in her system.

Regina said it became necessary to address the drug addiction allegations made by her estranged husband because she wanted her children to know the truth and to take pride in her.

Reacting now, Ned Nwoko stated that “temporary abstinence is not sobriety”.

The politician wrote: “DONT BE FOOLED: TEMPORARY ABSTINENCE IS NOT SOBRIETY.”

He continued: “Temporary abstinence, does not erase the underlying challenges that brought this situation to light. Recovery and accountability are not matters for social media posts or publtic engagement, they require sustained effort honesty, and a genuine engagement with professional support.

“The conditions under which this recent test was conducted remain unclear. ln contrast, earlier findings of drugs and alcohol use were established through assessments conducted by two independent, reputable centres in Nigeria and South Africa. These reports were professionally compiled, formally documented, and will be presented and defended in court, and the centres involved will be subpoenaed to testify to their findings

“Presenting a later negative result as proof that no prior use occurred is Misleading and disingenuous. At best, it reflects abstinence over a period of time. It does not invalidate earlier medical reports, nor does it negate what necessitated intervention in the first place.

“There has also been an attempt to dilute the seriousness of the substance refered to as MDMA (Molly), regardless of how casually it is referenced or repackaged in language, it is a drug. Renaming it does not alter its chemical composition, its risks, or its impact on judgment and stability.

“Moreover, temporary abstinence, whether for weeks or months, does not address the underlying issues that brought this situation to where it is today.

“Healing is not episodic, and accountability is not performative.

“Long before this matter became public, Senator Ned Nwoko explored every possible avenue to provide support, including private rehabilitation for structured, sustained therapy, not just brief one off, it failed. Denial is never a foundation for sustainable therapy The first step is to own up to the existing problem. When the court gave judgement in favour of Senator Ned having custody, and dismissing all Unsubstantiated human rights abuse claims they brought forward last year, the court order stated that Regina should go for supervised therapy with evidence of same. we did not make it a time for public show. Senator Ned gave Regina a window to quietly seek the needed help, he acted discreetly, keeping matters out of the media while encouraging access to professional care so she could maintain a meaningfut relationship with her children.

“It is therefore inaccurate to suggest consistent sobriety or to dismiss prior findings. A single test, taken at a time of one’s choosing, does not outweigh documented assessments conducted independently and professionally.

“If accountability is to be invoked, then it must acknowledge reality of a problem and willingness to address it, that’s accountability that can yield results.

“Genuine accountability requires confronting reality, and committing to long-term professional support, not a matter to be measured by social media engagements. True growth, stability, and accountability come from embracing the process quietly, consistently, and with integrity, the very approach Senator Ned has encouraged from the start. lt is not time for drama

“Any test conducted anywhere in the world will face court scrutiny and should be ready when subpoenaed, to defend results just like the Nigerian and South African labs. In any case, Court would for clarity, appoint a credible laboratory for verification of claims. It is time for reality supported by relevant, credible and admissible evidence.”

They Don’t Deserve This Embarrassment – Peter Obi Slams Non-Payment Of Super Eagles’ Allowances

Former Anambra State governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned the ongoing non-payment of match allowances to Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, calling it a national embarrassment that damages the country’s reputation and demoralizes its players.

Obi made the remarks in a post on his official Facebook page, expressing concern that Nigeria continues to generate troubling narratives even at moments when citizens need unity and positive distractions.

According to him, the Super Eagles have been a major source of national pride, lifting the spirits of Nigerians at home and abroad through their recent performances, yet are now facing avoidable distractions due to the failure to pay their agreed match bonuses.

“At a time when Nigerians need joy and unity—something the Super Eagles have been providing by winning matches and lifting our spirits worldwide—these same players are being denied their basic match allowances,”
Obi wrote.

He questioned the country’s priorities, noting that while huge sums are written off in debts for government agencies and political allies and spent on what he described as grandiose, self-serving projects, authorities appear unable to meet basic obligations to national representatives.

He said the situation damages Nigeria’s international reputation and unfairly places additional pressure on the players ahead of a crucial quarter-final encounter, stressing that the failure to honour pre-tournament agreements is unacceptable.

“The Super Eagles do not deserve this embarrassment or the avoidable distractions ahead of a crucial quarter-final match. Nigeria must learn to fulfil its obligations,” Obi added.
