Popular socialite, Bobrisky opined that Phyna shouldn’t have approached Verydarkman to help with the Dangote incident.

Nigerian activist and social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has condemned individuals and institutions he believes failed Phyna’s sister, Ruth Otabor, who died weeks after an accident involving a Dangote truck.
Reacting to the tragedy, Verydarkman faulted President Bola Tinubu, the Dangote Group, and Nigerians with social media influence, accusing them of failing to rally support when Ruth was still alive and in desperate need of advanced medical care.
In a strongly worded video, he said:
“Phyna’s sister has finally kpai, a lot of people are lending their voices to the RIP but when we needed those voices to pressure Dangote to do the right thing, 19 days was what she spent at the hospital but many refused to post because it won’t give them engagement. You bunch are hypocrites, may God forgive your souls. Nigeria has failed us. President Bola Tinubu, you have failed us all. And to Dangote Group, are you happy now? You had the time to take that girl abroad to treat her.”
His remarks came hours after the Dangote Group issued a condolence statement, expressing sadness over Ruth’s death and insisting that the company and its insurance partners had been covering all medical and financial costs since the accident.
The conglomerate further noted that arrangements had already been made to fly Ruth to India for advanced treatment, pending her doctors’ medical clearance. Unfortunately, she passed away before the process could be finalised.

The Dangote Group has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna.
In a statement issued shortly after her passing, the conglomerate said it had been actively supporting Ruth and her family since the incident.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo State,” the company said.
The Dangote Group explained that since the accident, its officials and insurance partners had been covering all financial and medical expenses, including making arrangements to fly Ruth abroad for advanced treatment.
“Arrangements had been made for her to be flown to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from her doctors. Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” the statement read.
The company further reaffirmed its commitment to safety and accountability in its operations, while offering condolences to the Otabor family.
“At Dangote Group, safety, accountability, and compassion remain at the core of our operations. We remain committed to strengthening our safety systems and supporting those affected in moments of tragedy. May God grant her mercy and eternal rest,” it added.

Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has shared insights into her journey since her controversial disqualification from the Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem season.
In a recent interview on Pulse Hot Takes, Tacha revealed that many celebrities distanced themselves from her after her exit from the show, as though her career was over before it even started.
“A lot of celebrities didn’t want to associate with me after BBNaija disqualification. People concluded that it was over for me.
“But I was able to just pick myself back up by going back to what I know, which is making sales online, creating content, and just really trying to be a better version of the Tacha of yesterday,” she said.
Despite the setback, Tacha stressed that she has no regrets about her BBNaija experience.
“Absolutely not. I don’t regret anything. I try to live my life without regrets because at the end of the day there’s always a lesson to be learnt,” she added.
Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, has tragically d!ed.
She passed away following a tragic accident involving a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.
The family announced her de@th on Sunday through a statement by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, stating that Ruth passed on Sunday at about 6:30 a.m.
“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.
The incident occurred on August 13, 2025, just six days after Ruth graduated from the polytechnic, and resulted in the amputation of her leg.
According to eyewitnesses, the heavy-duty truck crushed her leg before it was eventually stopped by a bystander.
Phyna had been demanding justice for her sister, accusing the company of negligence and vowing not to let the matter be swept under the carpet.
Dangote Group had accepted responsibility for the incident, promising comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation to Ruth’s family.
However, Phyna expressed outrage after the company’s staff posted photos of her injured sister online without permission.

The family has requested privacy as they mourn and will communicate funeral arrangements in due course.
“The family is presently grieving and will appreciate to be given a private moment to mourn the departed.
“The funeral arrangement will be communicated to the public in due course,” the statement added.
