Why I’m Still Single – Nollywood Actress, Sarah Sweet Reveals

Nollywood actress, Sarah Oghenekaro Akatugba aka Sarah Sweet has revealed why she’s still single.
According to her, she’s single because men are not asking her out.
Explaining her reasons, Sarah Sweet said: “I am not single because I don’t have people asking me out, I am single because I am really tired of men’s deceit, disrespect and inability to be responsible.”
In addition, the well-endowed actress, who doubles as a chef, says she prioritises loyalty, trust, and mutual support in her relationships.
“I am not single because I don’t have people asking me out, I am single because I am really tired of men’s deceit, disrespect and inability to be responsible. We have a lot of people out there who do not know what it means to call other people your friend. They do not understand the true meaning of friendship. Friendship is someone you know to a certain level that you can vouch for, not acquaintance and colleague. I am very big on loyalty.

“If I call you a friend, I am a hundred and ten per cent out for you. I don’t envy; I don’t backbite. I expect the same energy from whoever I consider my friend. Friendship and loyalty are very important to me. You cannot be my friend and you are not loyal. For me to call you my friend is a lot to me. I am called the Queen of one hundred and ten per cent because I add extra ten per cent in everything I do. If you have to be my husband you have to come correct.”
Sarah explained that her appearance in the Empire Mansion Season 2 reality show further amplified her passion for philanthropy.
Her experience in the mansion deepened her understanding of the impact one can have on their community.
She has always believed in giving back, especially to the less privileged. Now, she focuses on empowering young girls through education and skills acquisition.

I Have Been Unlucky With The Super Eagles – Victor Boniface Opens Up

Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has reflected on his journey with Nigeria’s Super Eagles, admitting that goals have not come as expected despite his best efforts.

The striker said his national-team showings have drawn mixed reactions, but he remains grateful for the opportunity to represent his country.

Boniface, who spoke in an interview with sports journalist Oma Akatugba, noted that his commitment to the team has never been in doubt, even though he has faced challenges converting chances on the big stage.

He explained that his dream of playing for the Super Eagles was fulfilled, but his time in the national colours has not yet reflected his true abilities.

According to him, struggles in a few games do not define who he is as a footballer, nor do they diminish his sense of pride each time he plays for Nigeria.

“I have been unlucky with the national team in terms of scoring goals, even though there were a couple of games I was not good,”
Boniface said.

“My biggest dream as a football player was to represent my country and I achieved this and I am grateful for this.

“Because it has not worked good for me with the national team does not mean I am a bad player.”

Speaking further on his club career and the transfer window that saw him linked with AC Milan, Boniface said he has no regrets about how things played out.

“When the Milan deal didn’t go through, I was just relaxing with my friends. Things like that happen in football all the time,”
he said, expressing contentment with his new chapter. “I love Germany. I really do.”

Boniface, who missed a significant part of last season due to injury, dismissed claims that his campaign was disappointing.

“I missed a lot of games but still scored eight goals. I don’t understand how that became a bad season,” he stated.

He emphasized that his journey has been shaped by resilience. “I came from humble beginnings. I’ve faced tough injuries that could have ended my career, so every day I’m thankful to God. Being here is already a blessing.”

The forward also addressed criticism over his social-media activity, a recurring subject among fans and commentators.

“I just post funny things. If people make it into a big issue, that’s their choice. My posts don’t hurt anyone,”
he explained. “When I stopped posting, they said I must be going through something. When I post, they still complain.”

Boniface stressed that his happiness in Germany goes beyond football, noting the connection he feels with the environment and supporters.

“We have a good connection here. It feels like home,” he said.

He concluded by reiterating his commitment to staying and succeeding in the Bundesliga. “I had offers from other countries, even from England, but I chose to stay in Germany. I love it here and I want to make the fans proud.”

Victor Boniface is currently on loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen for the 2025/26 season.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully secured a cumulative 21-year prison sentence for five members of an international criminal syndicate recently apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, over intercepted cocaine and opioid shipments destined for Australia and Gabon.

The convictions followed the seizure of 68.9 kilograms of cocaine and tramadol at the airport.

According to the NDLEA, the trio of Olasupo Michael Oladimeji, Muaezee Ademola Ogunbiyi, and Sola Adegoke—identified as leaders of one of the trafficking cartels—were arrested after 17.9kg of cocaine concealed in textile materials and local charms was intercepted at the MMIA export shed on August 26, 2025, en route to Sydney, Australia.

Further investigations led to the recovery of 20.5kg of Canadian Loud (a potent strain of cannabis) from Ogunbiyi’s residence in Lekki, while a black Range Rover SUV (RBC 459 EJ) was recovered from Adegoke’s home in Ikeja GRA.

The suspects were arraigned on October 30, 2025, before Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on five counts under charge number FHC/L/925C/2025. They pleaded guilty to all charges.

Delivering judgment on October 31, Justice Kakaki sentenced each defendant to five years’ imprisonment without an option of fine, amounting to a combined jail term of 15 years.

The court also ordered the forfeiture of the Range Rover SUV and a Toyota Venza seized during the investigation to the Federal Government.

In a related case, two other cartel coordinators—Obunike Joseph Obichukwu and Uzorchukwu Godspower Chukwurah—were arrested over a shipment containing 2.60kg of cocaine and 27.90kg of tramadol concealed in motor spare parts destined for Gabon on July 19, 2025.

After investigations, both suspects were arraigned before Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on November 4, on six counts under charge number FHC/L/980C/2025.

Upon their guilty pleas and a review of the case facts, the court sentenced both men to three years’ imprisonment each or an option of a N2 million fine.

Apologise to Sunday Igboho Over Home Invasion – Soyinka Tells FG

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has called on the federal government to apologize to Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho over the invasion of his Ibadan home by security operatives.
He described the invasion as “unlawful and criminal.”
Recall that Igboho’s residence, located in the Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State, was raided on July 1, 2021, by a joint team of operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army, during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The operation was carried out over allegations that the activist was stockpiling arms and ammunition.
However, in a video posted by Igboho’s media aide, Olayomi Koiki, Professor Soyinka urged the Federal Government to apologise to the Yoruba Nation agitator, rather than continue to treat him as a criminal.
The raid, he recalled, resulted in the killing of two of Igboho’s aides and the arrest of 13 of his supporters.

Although the date of the recording could not be confirmed, the Nobel Laureate made the remarks during an interview in which he addressed questions on the invasion of Igboho’s residence, the arrest of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and the wider issue of insecurity across Nigeria.

Soyinka said: “My advice is not so much to Igboho as it is to the government. They should stop pursuing this person as a criminal because they began by acting in a criminal fashion against him.

“If and when Igboho is brought to trial, I guarantee that the government will be very embarrassed. It is not in its interest.

“I think they should simply tell him, ‘We made a mistake; we should not have acted this way. You are no longer wanted.’ They should escort him back to his home quietly and let him resume his normal life.”
The eminent scholar further faulted media descriptions suggesting that Igboho was “in hiding,” saying the activist had instead “gone underground” to protect himself and continue his cause.

“I am not referring to the secessionist element, I am talking about what Igboho originally set out to do, to protect and defend his people, and to make it clear to aggressors that they are not lords over this nation or any part of it beyond what the Constitution permits,” Soyinka clarified.

He concluded that any attempt by the government to prosecute Igboho would backfire: “If you bring Igboho to trial, the government will end up with mud on its face.”

“As far as I am concerned, it is up to him to decide his next steps. He knows what happened before his people were killed, and only he can determine what to do next,” he said.

ASUU Denies FG N50 Billion Payment Claim, Threatens Fresh Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has denied claims by the Federal Government that it released ₦50 billion as part of the university revitalisation fund.

According to ASUU, the report is fake news.

In a statement signed by Prof. Jurbe Molwus, ASUU said the alleged payment has not reached any federal universities, and none of the union’s demands have been met ahead of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for November 8–9, 2025.
Molwus recalled that the union had suspended its two-week warning strike in good faith after assurances from senior government officials that concrete actions would be taken to address pending salary arrears and other entitlements.
“Even the ₦50bn revitalisation fund the FGN claimed to have released some weeks ago is yet to reach the universities. We do not know why the Minister of Education is still keeping it,” he said.
The union also dismissed claims that ₦2.3 billion had been released to settle salary and promotion arrears. Molwus emphasized that university staff have not received any credit alerts, despite government announcements, and described recent statements as misleading.
ASUU stressed that what its members need is actual payments, not press releases, as the union prepares for its NEC meeting.
Outstanding issues include withheld salaries, wage arrears, promotion arrears, and other entitlements, which remain unresolved.
He disclosed that the union had given the government a deadline of November 21, 2025, to meet its demands, failing which it may resume its suspended strike.
The union’s firm stance has reignited debates across Nigeria’s academic community, with many closely watching whether further industrial action will be initiated should the government fail to deliver on its promises.
