Dem Get Bad Character – Nigerian Singer, Ruger Sparks Backlash With Comment About Women Who Undergo BBL

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, the Nigerian singer, who is better known as Ruger is currently facing widespread backlash online.

He stirred the backlash after sharing a controversial opinion about women who undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures.

Taking to his X account, the artiste stated that whenever he sees a woman with a BBL, his immediate assumption is that she possesses “bad character.”

He went further to claim that, in his view, the procedure often “comes with small attitude.”

He wrote: “When i see girl with bbl I Dey straight up think say dem get bad character 😂😂

“be like the procedure Dey come with small attitude and ogba.”

His remark has since sparked intense debate across social media, with many users criticizing him for making a blanket judgment about women’s choices regarding their bodies.

Others argued that such comments reinforce harmful stereotypes and contribute to the ongoing stigma surrounding cosmetic procedures.

I Don’t Owe Davido Apology – Singer Ruger Speaks On Alleged Rift With Colleague

Popular Nigerian singer, Ruger has responded to reports of a supposed feud between him and his senior colleague, Davido.

Davido’s fans have repeatedly accused Ruger of beefing him and taking side in his rivalry with Wizkid, after he publicly expressed his admiration for the latter and his fans.

A fan of Davido on X recently claimed that Ruger’s career would be stagnant until he publicly apologises to the DMW boss.

“When you’re ready apologize and beg Davido publicly, your song will enter No 1,” he fan wrote.

Responding, Ruger asked, “And did Davido tell you I did anything wrong to him?”

In another post, Ruger explained that he has no issue with Davido and he believes that he is cool with him, too.

He emphasised that he would never believe that Davido is beefing him until he said it to his face or publicly.

“I love Davido and i know he loves me too. People on his team still repost my sh*t.

“I will never believe this agenda that he doesn’t f*ck with me except he says it to my face or publicly. But if him talk am, everywhere go first blur Sha,” he wrote.

Touring Affected My Love Life – Ruger

Nigerian singer, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger has made a confession about his romantic life.
According to him, constant touring affected his love life.
He added that his romantic life became worse after he rebranded and got a low-cut because more ladies began approaching him.
The music star said his desire, however, is to settle down.
“Being on the road has really affected my love life. It became worse after i went back to my black hair and lowcut coz these girls have been over rushing me. But deep down, I really wanna settle down soon,” he wrote on his X handle on Sunday.
Ruger also shared that touring also affected his relationship with his family, revealing that he hardly sees his family members.
He went on to claim that he is the most booked Nigerian artist in the world.
“I hardly even see my family coz trust me, I’m the most booked artist in this country. People want to see me on stage around the world. They want that Ruger sauce every month,” he added.

The MOBO Awards has unveiled nominations for their 2025 edition.

Nigerian singers, Asake, Rema, Ayra Starr, Tems, Bnxn, Ruger, Shallipopi, and Odumodublvck were nominated for the 2025 Music of Black Origin Awards.

Tems, Ayra Starr, and Asake are nominated in the Best International Act category alongside Beyonce, Glorilla, Kendrick Lamar, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Tyla.

In the Best African Music Act category, Asake, Ayra Starr, Bnxn & Ruger, Odumodublvck, Rema, Shallipopi, and Tems are nominated alongside South African singers; Tyla and Uncle Waffles.

For the first time, the ceremony will take place in Newcastle, at the Utilita Arena on Tuesday, February 18.

Relationships Don’t Work For Me – Singer, Ruger Says

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Ruger has spoken about his romantic relations with women.

Ruger, who described himself as a lover boy, noted that he recently discovered that relationships don’t work for him.

Speaking during an interview with Naija FM, the singer said his natural instinct is to get serious with someone, but he often loses interest.

“I’m a loverboy, it is now that I understand that relationships don’t work for me.

“But my first instinct when I see a girl is to think about getting serious with her. But later I just become unserious all of a sudden.

“Honestly, the most I can give female fan on stage is a flower. It is like we are working together. I don’t see it beyond the stage.”

Let Me Inherit Your Fanbase If You Retire – Ruger Begs Wizkid

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Ruger, has appealed to his colleague, Wizkid, to allow him inherit his fanbase whenever he retires from music.

The ‘Bounce’ crooner made the appeal via his X handle on Saturday.

He pleaded with Wizkid to will his fanbase to him if he decides to quit music, and if his son, Zion, is also not interested in making music.

He wrote, “@wizkidayo if you ever decide to not do music again, and Zion no wan do music Slsef, pls write my name Ruger as the person to inherit your fanbase in your music will.”

Wizkid is yet to respond to Ruger’s request.

The Starboy boss has one of the most dogged fanbase in Africa, popularly known as Wizkid FC.
