We Are Yet To Receive Mohbad’s Autopsy Report – Police

The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed that they are still yet to receive the autopsy result of late Afrobeats star, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad.

The 27-year-old singer died on September 12 in controversial circumstances. Nigerians demanded for an autopsy to be carried out to ascertain the real cause of his death.

On September 21, exactly two months today, his body was exhumed from where it was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos state for an autopsy to be carried out.

On October 6, the state police command announced the autopsy had been concluded while results were being awaited.

Nigerians have been waiting anxiously for details of the result. However in a chat with Punch, the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Monday, November 20, said the command is yet to receive the result.

“The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been carrying rumours that it’s ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be given to us officially – that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it. So, we don’t work with rumours, we work with facts.” he said.

They are required to attend the inquiry on October 25, 2023.

At the inquest, Magistrate Sotobi Adedayo of the Candide Johnson Courthouse, Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday, October 13, 2023, instructed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, to ensure the presence of Naira Marley, Sam Larry and Primeboy at the next adjourned date slated for October 25, 2023. Marley and Larry are currently being detained at Panti.

The magistrate also called for cooperation in the investigation for speedy and fast justice delivery on the death of the singer, while advising that interested parties should not encourage delay in order for MohBad’s remains to be finally laid to rest.

This was even as an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Muhammad Yusuf, an investigating police officer attached to the homicide section of the SCID, stated that in the course of their investigation, there was no evidence beyond reasonable doubt that Naira Marley assaulted Mohbad, nor was there any evidence that Sam Larry and Naira Marley were linked with Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse who administered the injection to the deceased.

Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12, and on Friday, October 6, after weeks of investigation, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, announced that the auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who injected Mohbad; his friend and fellow artiste, Ibrahim Owoduni, aka Prime Boy; and another friend, Ayobami Sadiq, were the prime suspects in the singer’s death.

He added that the police quizzed 26 people, while five suspects had so far been identified, arrested, detained and interrogated on their alleged roles in the sequence of events that led to the singer’s death. Mohbad’s Contract With Marlian Music Was Fair – Music Executive, Abisoye

Abisoye ‘Cash ‘N’ Out’, the Nigerian music executive, has made a claim about the late Nigerian rapper Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka Mohbad.

He claimed that claimed that the contract Mohbad signed with his former record label, Marlian Music, was “fair”.

Following his controversial death on September 12, 2023, many have condemned the treatment meted on Mohbad by Marlian Music boss Naira Marley and his associates after he left the record label in 2022.

While exiting the record label, Mohbad had, in a letter dated October 25, 2022, and signed by O.M Falade, his lawyer, cited the non-fulfilment of the terms of the contract signed in 2019 when he joined the record label while also accusing the label of refusing to pay him his royalties from monetised intellectual content and advances as mutually agreed.

Speaking in a recent interview with Arise TV, Abisoye claimed that he was privileged to access the contract the late rapper signed, insisting that it was “fair”.

He said it was a joint deal between the record label and the late artist. However, things didn’t go as Mohbad expected.

Abisoye said, “By right, I might not be able to speak about Mohbad’s contract with Marlian Music like that here. But because I’ve seen it before, I would say it was a fair one.

“In his defence, me and him [Mohbad] always talk about that contract. That contract was a joint venture. It means he comes to the table as who ever he is and the label comes to the table and they put two together and they make something which is a beautiful arrangement but some how it didn’t just go the way he thought it would go. And like I said, I won’t be able to speak more on that.”
