CAF Awards 2023: Oshoala Makes Final Shortlist For Women’s Player Of The Year

Asisat Oshoala is on track to secure her record-extending sixth CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, according to Daily Post.

Oshoala was among the three players who made the final shortlist for the Women’s Player of the Year award, as announced by the Confederation of African Football on Thursday.

The Barcelona Femeni star became the first woman to claim the award for a record fifth time in 2022.

The 27-year-old played a key role in Barcelona Femeni’s UEFA Women’s Champions League success last season.

South Africa’s Thembi Klagtlana and Zambia’s Barbara Banda are the other players in contention for the award.

Klagtlana, who plays for the American side Racing Louisville Football Club, won the award in 2018.

The winner will be revealed at the CAF Awards Gala on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco

Nigerian footballer, Asisat Oshoala has taken to her Snapchat to lament.
The Nigerian who plays for Barcelona lamented that people are flooding her DM asking for money.
She used her Snapchat handle to warn individuals against such conduct.
She wrote: “While I enjoy having fun here, there are certain things that should be common sense. I help a lot of people here, but there are situations I won’t condone or support, such as ‘MY WIFE JUST GAVE BIRTH,’ ‘I WANT TO HAVE A WEDDING,’ and so on. Use your common sense. Set your priorities right!!”

Asisat Oshoala Pays Tribute To Mohbad After Scoring Twice Against Granada

Nigerian female footballer, Asisat Oshoala, has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad who died in September.

The FC Barcelona striker dedicated her goals in a recent match to the late Afrobeats star.

Recall that Mohbad was declared dead after allegedly seeking treatment for an ear infection.

While the cause of the singer’s death is yet to be officially determined or announced by the appropriate authorities, Mohbad continues to be celebrated by well-wishers.

In honor of Mohbad, Asisat Oshoala, who recently scored twice against Granada in a football match, took to her Instagram page to write, “Double for Imole. keep resting young king #LightBoy.”
