Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, has revealed new details about late singer Mohbad’s financial transactions during his time under the label, alleging that the artiste frequently used his partner’s mother’s account to receive payments.
According to him, on December 21, 2020, Mohbad sent an account number with the name Adesanya Justina Olajumoke and insisted that payments should be made into it.
He further disclosed that on December 30, 2020, Mohbad expressed gratitude after receiving payments into the same account following his one-year anniversary as a Marlian Records artiste.
Again, on December 31, 2020, and January 25, 2021, Mohbad continued to direct him to send money to the same account, claiming it belonged to his mother.
However, Naira Marley said he became suspicious after realizing the name on the account did not match that of Mohbad’s mother, who is known as Abosede. He alleged that the account actually belonged to the mother of Mohbad’s partner, Wunmi.
He said …
“On November 16, 2020, he sent me a message that he was at the hospital treating malaria. Those people saying he is scared of the hospital can see this.
“On Dec 21, 2020, Mohbad sent me an account with the name: Adesanya Justina Olajumoke. He said that was his new account where money should be paid into.”
“I was like this is not your account but anyway I paid his money there. On Dec 30, 2020 he appreciated me after his one year anniversary of being my artiste.”
On Dec 31, 2020, he sent me the same Olajumoke account to pay money into and he still insisted it was his account. On Jan 25, 2021 he sent me that same Olajumoke account and said it was his mum’s account.”
“I knew that wasn’t his mum’s name.”It was Wunmi’s mother’s account. His mother’s name is Abosede. I was like what’s going on, I then called him over to my place and spoke to him.”

Nigerian singer and Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, has urged the police to re-arrest everyone connected to the death of late artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
He disclosed that despite presenting evidence proving his innocence, he was detained for two months at Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
She said …
“Ok, so I came back to Nigeria to support the police with the investigation because I can see fingers pointing out ways I can see that they’ve paid the block. So I want to come back so they can actually know that I have nothing to do with it and chase or whatever so you can get justice. So I came back to Nigeria. I was in quarantine for two months. Two months. After I even got out of PANTI, I was fighting for my passport there. I held my passport for how long? I showed them everything. There was no, like this is a working country. Okay, it’s okay, you can question me, but there’s no reason to detain me for two months. Two months? For what? No reason. I was not in the country. I haven’t seen him for over a year. There’s not even nothing to ask me. There’s nothing. I showed you everything. I was in PANTI for two months, but it’s okay. it’s nothing bro i understand you get i get it there’s people behind the scene as you can see the group chat got leaked um the officer that was in charge of the case in quantity mr hillary they mentioned his name to call him to call him they’re talking about george so so they did this is africa they did their homework to keep me there for two months i was in quantity for two months even people pointing fingers at me does not That don’t mean I should be in Kwan Tee for two months. You can see the evidence that I have nothing to do with it. Even the officers, they were saying I have nothing to do with it from early. They’re telling me this is for my own protection. My own protection to stay in Kwan Tee for two months. You know what Kwan Tee is? Some Kwan Tee I was in the cell. But anyway, it’s okay. I didn’t do a lot. If I wasn’t there for two months, a lot. I would have probably, you know, a lot. But they need to keep me there for two months. But it’s okay, like I said. It’s all right. When I got out, I was going to do a video to explain everything. But, wow, they’re doing autopsy. I was very happy and waiting for autopsy. But anyways, what can I say? I can only say my side of the story. But if you ask me, I would tell the police to arrest everybody. Everybody, arrest everybody that was in there. I’ll ask everybody again, don’t worry, I’ll ask everybody again, everybody. For an officer we can trust and charge, I’ll ask everybody again. We’re not blind, you can see, but that’s it. Lastly, we’ve got in touch with Mubad lawyer and we are ready to give his share to whoever the court of family picked to be in charge of his estate. Since Mubad passed away, we have not touched Any money from my dad is there safe for wherever the family picks or wherever the court picks. You know what it is? It’s a boy named Amali. Famous singer, Naira Marley finally opens up on Mohbad’s demise, as he recounts his side of things.
He remarked that he was saddened when people began to spin out different narratives about his death, despite the fact that he had no hand in it.
Naira Marley said …
“Someone among us said, Mohbad dead. I looked at him, I said, it’s a lie man, he wants to blow again. Exactly what I said, it’s a lie. I said it’s a lie, he wants to blow again. I didn’t even bother. Zeno looked at me straight away. I said, ah, … Like, people should know what they will be saying, you know. I’m like, ah, come on, man, people know we’re not in Nigeria, obviously. Oh, I just said people know we’re not in Nigeria. I went on Instagram. I can see InstaBlog saying Mohbad died of air infection. Okay, I’m like, air infection? All of us saying, was he dead? I’m like, they’re lying, man. Air infection, lying. How can you die of air infection? I’m still saying that. Twitter, boom, boom, boom. Nagamali, finally you’ve killed him. What? Is it a joke? Is it dead for you? But immediately I’m saying they started posting videos from the NDLEA incident. They started posting videos from the fight he had with, on the 4th of October 2022, he had with his manager. They started posting videos from there. Why? I don’t understand. Is that what killed him? You said he died on the… 12th of September, 2023.
You’re posting videos. So I know, I can see already that there’s someone paying the blogs to try changing the narrative from Haley. I’m like, what’s happening here? And the public, really, they’re falling for it. I wasn’t in the country. I can show you my passport stamp. And when I go back to Nigeria, everything, someone even saw us. After we, let me not jump the story. So, it’s still in the restaurant, they’re blaming me, everything. You know, jump in the car, let’s go away. We’re going to Amsterdam because I was planning to shoot the video. But now we can’t even shoot the video, but we still need to go. So we drove, went to Amsterdam.
Can’t even have fun anymore, can’t even shoot the video. Just chilling. Not even chilling, just… I was upset and sad. We didn’t even have time to mourn because of people blaming us for what we didn’t do. So I didn’t really get time to mourn him. Sometimes I tried to… Even when I mourned him, there was a message saying I killed him. I didn’t even get… I was sad. I was trying to mourn him. I didn’t get to mourn him properly. Um… Yeah, the person hold videos to try make you look like. But if we’re in a working country, they’re going to arrest everybody that was in the house with him. In the last 24 hours, 48 hours. They have no reason to arrest me, mate. Mate, I don’t understand. I was not in the country, I was out of the country.
You can see with the stamps, you can see with the videos, I have videos. I have lots of things, but that was it from then, it got serious. Samlari video came up, that video came up, that video Samlari and my body, my body. My first time seeing that video was when we all saw the video. I’m like, what the hell was this? But I wasn’t fast to judge like everybody.
I knew that video was not on that day because Samlagi was not in Nigeria too. Sam Larry traveled out of Nigeria. He was in Dubai, Kenya, Paris country. That’s what made me ask questions. Normally I was really angry like, ah, what? That’s what made me ask questions like, ah, Samlari, what’s up? He said nothing happened. He just saw him. He was explaining something. He said he saw him. Someone told him he was there. He went there. I don’t want to speak for him, but I’m just saying. He said he went there. And he saw him, he said he wants to collect his money. He said he tapped the chair. But I didn’t touch him. I looked at the video again. He didn’t touch him for real. But I can already see they’re posting my videos. So I’m thinking, why are they posting this video now? Did he die there? I mean, what? That’s not what killed him. So I have to ask questions. I’m like, okay, what happened?”

Controversial activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has expressed disappointment in singer Naira Marley for forgiving Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo over her alleged defamatory remarks about him in the Mohbad case.
According to him, Iyabo’s accusations damaged the singer’s reputation during the period when public outrage was high following Mohbad’s tragic death.
“I told Naira Marley to detain Iyabo Ojo but he said Allah will judge,” VDM stated. “I told him to lose his cool the moment we enter the Police Commissioner’s office and say Iyabo Ojo’s defamatory remarks have ruined his career and tarnished his image. He said okay, but when he got there and Iyabo apologised in Yoruba, Naira Marley immediately forgave her. I almost died where I was sitting. I was so upset and disappointed.”
VDM also revealed that Naira Marley’s associate, Sam Larry, was equally unhappy with the decision to let things slide.
According to him, Sam Larry protested the forgiveness and became emotional over the situation.
“When Sam Larry saw that Naira Marley had accepted Iyabo Ojo’s apology, he protested against it. I was signalling Naira Marley not to accept the apology because I know Iyabo Ojo won’t keep to her end of the agreement. Sam Larry shed tears,” he added.
It will be recalled that both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were previously accused of being involved in Mohbad’s death but were cleared of any wrongdoing by a court four months ago.
The Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has stated that the refusal of Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, to appear in court as a prosecution witness or provide a formal statement as required in cybercrime cases involving her, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Tonto Dikeh, and VeryDarkMan is stalling the cases.
626Blaze reports that the NPF-NCCC made this known in an interview with Vanguard, in response to questions regarding accusations and counter-accusations made by the celebrities on social media.
The NFF-NCCC reiterated its commitment to impartial investigations, due process, and the protection of all citizens’ rights and urged all parties involved to cooperate fully with ongoing legal proceedings.
It said, “The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating two separate cybercrime cases and prosecution:
“Following a duly approved petition submitted by Mr. Azeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Mr. Balogun Olamilekan Eletu (aka Sam Larry), the NPF-NCCC commenced an investigation into allegations of cyberbullying and cyberstalking against actress Iyabo Ojo.
“The petitioners alleged that Ms Ojo made unsubstantiated claims via social media and interviews linking them to the death of the late artist, Ilerioluwa Aloba (aka Mohbad).
“Upon conclusion of investigations, the matter was formally charged to court in accordance with the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2024 amended.
“The second one, Cyberstalking Case Involving Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh & VeryDarkMan
“The case was investigated and formally charged to court under Charge No: FHC/ABJ/CR/149/2024.
“However, despite several formal invitations, Ms. Ojo has failed to appear in court as a prosecution witness or provide a formal statement as required.
“The Centre remains dedicated to ensuring Nigeria’s digital space is governed by truth, accountability, and the rule of law.”
The ongoing quest for justice in the death of Nigerian singer, Mohbad, has taken a dramatic turn following the release of an audio by controversial critic, Verydarkman.
Recall that Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, aged 27, leaving an irreplaceable loss in the Nigerian music industry.
Recently, VeryDarkMan revived the quest for justice in the late singer’s death, conducting interviews with his family, close associates, and wife, Wunmi.
According to the 2-minute-40-second audio, Mohbad accuses an individual whom he shares the same iCloud with of attempting to harm him.
The singer opens up about life’s battles, revealing his life has been a mess since his release from NDLEA custody.
“You think I will forget everything. I know you will not say anything. You know how to go and call my mum to make her sad”,He stated.
In the audio, Mohbad accuses the individual of tampering with his WhatsApp and forcing an outfit he dislikes on him.
Additionally, Mohbad cautioned that if any harm befalls him, the individual should be held accountable.
However, the identity of the individual in the now-viral audio wasn’t disclosed, with reports suggesting Wunmi.

Veteran actress, Tonto Dikeh reacts to being dragged into the justice for Mohbad controversy by Verydarkman and others.
He had opined that a WhatsApp group was created by Iyabo Ojo, that contained Tonto Dikeh, Samklef and others.
She wrote …
“After four decades on this earth, I have made a conscious, unwavering choice: peace over disgrace.
I walk in perfect rhythm with **El-Roi—the God who sees me**the One who fights my battles in silence and secures my victories in full view.
Truth needs no defense; in His time, it shall be revealed, not by my hand, but by His divine orchestration.
I do not wrestle with mortals. My legacy is already speaking, and my seed shall echo my strength long after I am gone.
To those awaiting my fall into chaos, you clearly do not know WHO I AM ….NOR WHOSE I AM..
You do not know the joy I carry, a joy that is divine, untouchable, and irrevocable.
No man born of a woman can strip me of it.
I stand rooted, healed, and dangerously in love with myself. In this sacred space of self-love, I am both my sanctuary and my fire.
##excuse me to say FUCK YHE DEVIL
#ADAELROI
She who is seen, shielded, and unstoppable.”
Nigerian music producer, Samuel Oguachuba, popularly known as Samklef, has expressed frustration over the lack of appreciation from the music industry and the late singer, Mohbad’s family, for his efforts in seeking justice.
He questioned why he should seek justice for Mohbad when the deceased’s biological father had chosen to remain quiet.
He also dismissed allegations claiming that Verydarkman paid ₦20 million to obtain information about the controversial group chat, involving various celebrities that were allegedly linked to Mohbad’s death.
According to him, the leak came from someone inside the group.
Samklef said, “Verydarkman did not pay anybody 20million to get information regarding the group chat. He said that the person who leaked the chat was inside the group.
“If the father of Mohbad is quiet, why should I be fighting? I don’t have any personal interest in this case. Why should I be crying more than the bereaved?
“I con sit down think about this whole thing, like why we Dey fight, even the family sef no appreciate wetin we dey do, the judiciary said Naira Marley and Sam Larry are free, did you see me online ranting or questioning that decision?
“The whole industry ganged up against me.”
“My brothers revenge is not a solution, because it will keep on dragging on, Mohbads’ soul is not at rest, everyone should cease fire and stop fighting,” the music producer added.
