Nigeria vs Cameroon: Kanu Predicts AFCON Round Of 16 Clash

Nwankwo Kanu, the Arsenal legend, has predicted that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will emerge victorious against Cameroon in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 clash.

In a video post via his X account on Saturday, the former Nigeria international also urged Nigerians to keep praying and supporting Jose Peseiro’s men as they tackle Cameroon.

The former Ajax and Inter Milan star, however, admitted that the match will be difficult but the Super Eagles will come out victorious.

“Nigeria vs Cameroon. What ever it is, you [Super Eagles] are coming out strong, victorious,” Kanu said.

“Let’s us keep praying, supporting the team, it will be a difficult game, but we have the team.

“Believe, come on boys you can do it. You have done it before, you can still do it again.

“Get the victory and we keep moving. Remember we are heading to the finals to win the tournament.”

Nigeria head for the game after beating Guinea-Bissau 1-0 in their last game, while Cameroon won 3-2 against Gambia.

The kick-off time for the match is 9:00 pm.

What Burna Boy Did When He Was Asked To Choose Who’s A Better Legend Between Kanu or Okocha

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy refused to reveal his choice after he was asked to choose who was a better footballer between Super Eagles legends, Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
It happened after his performance at the Champions League final kickoff show on Saturday night.
The star was seen having a chat with some football legends on CBS Sports shortly after the game.
He was asked to choose who was the better player between Kanu and Okocha by Arsenal and France legend, Thierry Henry.
“I have one for you, you go Kanu or Okocha? Henry asked.
Burna Boy responded: “Don’t do this to me, man. No, I can’t do this.

“This is treachery. It is treason. I can get hanged for it.”
However, after being prodded further, Burna Boy obliged to whisper his choice to Henry.
Former England international, Micah Richards claimed he heard Okocha.
But Henry refused to announce who Burna picked, saying “I will respect this one.”

“The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed Mr Augustine Eguavoen, currently its Technical Director, as the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles on an interim basis. This is with immediate effect, and follows the termination of the relationship with Franco-German Gernot Rohr, who has been in charge of the three–time African champions for the past 64 months, and is Nigeria’s longest–serving manager.

“Following a virtual meeting of the NFF Executive Committee on Sunday, it was decided that Eguavoen will work with Salisu Yusuf (Chief Coach); Paul Aigbogun (Assistant Coach); Joseph Yobo (Assistant Coach); Dr Terry Eguaoje (Assistant Coach) and Aloysius Agu (Goalkeeper Trainer). Former Nigeria captains Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Garba Lawal have been appointed to provide technical and ambassadorial support for the crew.

“The relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation and Mr Rohr has come to an end. We thank him for his services to the Super Eagles and Nigeria.

“We also want to thank the federal ministry of youth and sports for their collaboration and guidance all through.”

Gernot Rohr was appointed by NFF in August 2016 and he led the Super Eagles to a third place finish at the 2019 African Nations cup
