I’m Overwhelmed – Davido Thanks Fans After ‘Energetic’ Timeless Concert In Lagos

Popular Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke aka Davido has thanked his fans for attending his Timeless concert in Lagos on Sunday.
Davido stated that the energy in the concert was everything he could have imagined.
He took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to share his gratitude to his fans accompanied by a clip from the concert.
The OBO crooner also hinted at his upcoming global tour, stressing how important it is to take the ‘energy’ from the ‘Timeless’ concert global.
He wrote, “LAGOS LAST NIGHT YOU WERE TRULY TIMELESS.
 
“The energy was everything we could have imagined. “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. Big love to everyone who came out. You all know we have to take the energy around the world. Global tour announcement coming soon.”
‘Timeless’ concert which was a homecoming event for the singer was well-attended by fans and colleagues who turned up to show their support and love for the afrobeats star.

How I Predicted Wizkid’s Phenomenal Musical Success – Peter Okoye

Peter Okoye, aka Mr P, the popular Nigerian singer who is also one half of P-Square music duo, has spoken about Wizkid.

He revealed the role he played in Grammy-award-winning superstar, Wizkid’s days of little beginning.

He said he had high hopes for Wizkid during his early days as an up-and-coming artist when he was signed to Banky W’s EME Records.

Mr P appeared on the latest episode of The 77 Podcast alongside his partner, Paul.

He recalled how he tackled some reporters from snubbing Wizkid when the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner came to perform at one of their concerts as an opening artist years ago.

He said he told the reporters that Wizkid was going to dominate the music industry in the near future.

Mr P said, “We [P-Square] were never the type of artist that looked down on anybody. If you remember, there was a video that went viral where it was P-Square concert and Wizkid was opening for us. So, they [reporters] kept on interviewing only P-Square and we were like, okay, guys, hold on. What about him? They said… I said no, this guy is going to take over tomorrow.”

Wizkid is currently the most streamed African artist on Spotify, with over four billion streams. His song ‘Essence’, which featured Tems, is the longest-charting Nigerian song on the US Billboard Hot 100.

We Were First Musicians To Do Global Tours, Sign Multimillion-Dollar Deals In Nigeria – P-Square

The pop duo of Paul and Peter Okoye of P-Square fame have made a new claim.

They claimed they pioneered global tours, selling out stadiums and signing multimillion-dollar deals in the Nigerian music industry.

The twin musical duo stated this while featuring on the latest episode of The 77 Podcast.

Paul said, “Don’t forget who dominated the [music] industry for a long time. We [PSquare] held it down for nearly 13,14 years. We were there. Up there.

“In fact, we started doing traveling around the world, doing the stadiums, doing everything. People fainting, people crying. Signing multimillion dollars deals.”

Peter said despite their fame and affluence; they remained humble.

He said, “We were never the type of artist that looked down on anybody. If you remember, there was a video that went viral where it was P-Square concert and Wizkid was opening for us.

“So, they [newsmen] kept on interviewing only P-Square, and we were like, okay, guys, hold on. What about him? They said… I said no, this guy is going to take over tomorrow.”

I Was Four Years Old When My Dad Abandoned Us, I Don’t Even Know Him – Skales

Nigerian rapper and singer, John Njenga-Njeng aka Skales has revealed that he doesn’t know what his father looks like.
According to him, his father abandoned him, his sibling, and his mother when he was 4 years old.
Skales in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, said he doesn’t know what his biological father looks like.
According to him, his dad abandoned his family and his mother did menial jobs to cater for him and train him through school.
The singer said he regretted not asking his mum about the identity of his dad because talking about it, will make her sad.
Skales further said the only thing he remembers about his father was his beard and how he kissed him on the forehead before leaving them.
He added that prior to the demise of his mother, he also worked hard as a kid to support her.
He said: “That’s one mystery that I’ve not been able to solve like I don’t even know what my dad looks like. The only thing I can remember about my dad was the day he was leaving us.
 
‘He came to kiss me on the forehead and I remembered he had a beard. But I can’t remember the other things because I was so young. I was like four or five years old.
“I have tried to ask my mum. But then, again, because I really love my mom and I hate when my mum is sad, I feel like, okay, it’s going to make her sad. I never asked.”

More detials have emerged concerning the quarrel between afrobeats singer, Davido and his friend, Cubana Chiefpriest.
Blogger, Stella Dimorkorkokus has revealed what reportedly transpired between the two that forced them to go their separate ways.
Stella alleged that the duo fell out after Cubana Chiefpriest made a disrespectful statement about Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
It was also gathered that the controversial barman made the statement in the presence of Davido and his wife, Chioma. Stella wrote:
Popular Crooner David and his friend Cubana chief priest have unfollowed each other on Instagram and are presently not in talking terms over alleged disrespect over a statement the Chief priest allegedly made regarding late Ifeanyi Adeleke.

According to sources, the statement Cubana Chief Priest made was disrespectful, very careless and insensitive and made Chioma and Davido weep painful tears.
 
This made them fall out and Davido unfollowed Cubana Chief priest.Insiders allege that the Chief priest made the statement in presence of his wife and she also chided him for what he said….

However, Blogger, Gistlover claimed that Cubana Chiefpriest had called Davido to congratulate him on the expected birth of his child with baby mama, Amanda.
While speaking with Davido, Cubana allegedly mentioned that he hopes the baby is a boy so he would replace Chioma’s late son, Ifeanyi.
Reports claim Chioma heard it and burst into bitter tears while feeling pained and Davido in turn blasted Cubana, stating that he suspects he leaked the gist about his expectant baby mama.

BBNaija Star, Miracle Passes Flight Instructor Examination In USA

Miracle Ikechukwu Igbokwe, a Big Brother Naija, BBNaija reality show winner, who is popularly known as Miracle, has achieved a new feat.

He has finally passed his flight instructor examination in the United States of America, USA.

Celebrating his new accomplishment, the BBNaija Season 3 winner shared the news in a post on his Instagram page.

Sharing the screenshot of his Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane examination results on Monday, Miracle said he can now play Grand Theft Auto.

He wrote: “I can now go and play GTA in peace.”

The pilot had gone offline a few months after emerging as the winner of the show.

His last post was made in December 2019.

Prior to the BBNaija show, Miracle was in aviation school and returned to complete his training immediately after clinching the grand prize.

Nigerian singer, Don Jazzy, has revealed how a massage video he posted on his Instagram page got him at loggerheads with some ladies.

Speaking during the recent episode of Doyin’s Corner podcast, Don Jazzy narrated how a 2022 viral video of him massaging a lady’s backside got him in trouble with his fans, especially his female admirers.

In his words:

“You’re a nosy interviewer. A lot of people didn’t like the massage video that I did. There was a massage video that I did, I was promoting my music. Ehn, some people did not like that I was massaging bum bum.

“I feel like a lot of people were not happy about that. I have different reasons why I feel like some people were not happy about it. One was that it was very shocking considering that it was out of character.

“Normally, I don’t normally do that. Number two, obviously I have been in the game for a long time. So to an extent, I do have people that admire me, like women. So jealousy wan kill some of them so they just started getting angry.

“Jealousy can lead you to be more angry na. Jealousy can make you to be more angry.”

When asked if he felt he lost a bit of admirers that period, he reacted:

“Them dey toast me like that? [laughs]. Well, yes. There were some people that were angry. Ah! E pained them well well. Ah! “Oh my god. I’m crushed. My crush has crushed me.” Some people unfollowed me, but they followed me back. Things like that.”

‘Timeless’ Concert: Davido’s Dad Bought Me My First Laptop – Mr Macaroni Reveals

Nigerian comedian, Mr. Macaroni has revealed that Davido’s dad bought him his first ever laptop.
He made the revelation after hosting the much-anticipated concert by Davido, ‘Timeless’,which held on Sunday night at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
The concert had in attendance artistes such as Spyro, Asake, Inyanya and other music makers. His uncle, Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State was also in attendance.
Kie Kie joined Macaroni to host the show.
Taking to his social media page, Mr Macaroni said that the show was “a timeless experience to cherish forever.”
He recounted the first time he met Davido in 2020 and how his father assisted him.
He wrote on his Facebook page, “Omo!!! Yesterday was a Movie!!! A Timeless Experience to cherish forever!!!!
 
“First day I met Davido, sometime in 2020, I told him how his dad, Dr. Deji Adeleke was our First Elder in SDA Magodo then… and how his dad bought me my first ever laptop which I used in school.
 
“I was always calling him from school to send me money and he never said ‘No’, neither did he block my Number 😂
 
“That Day, Davido said “make we dey go my house.
 
“So, if you saw me jumping anyhow yesterday, na the joy and happiness cause am 😂
Beyond Davido’s gracious heart, his music lifts my soul!!!!!!!

The concert follows the release of the super star’s latest album by the same name.
The album was released the afternoon of March 31, and it instantly amassed over a million streams on music platform, Boomplay six hours after release.
The album release announced the return of Davido to the scene after a long break, following the death of his three-year-old-son, Ifeanyi, who drowned in the family pool in November.
Upon the album release, it topped Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, the UK’s Top Albums Chart and also on Apple Music.
Within 24 hours of release, the album broke Spotify’s record by clinching the number one spot of the biggest first day streams for albums on Spotify NG, with a whooping 4.91m streams.

Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ My Favorite Song At The Moment – Fast And Furious Star, Vin Diesel

American actor, Mark Sinclair, professionally known as Vin Diesel, has disclosed his favourite song.

The American thespian disclosed in a recent interview that ‘Calm Down’ by Nigerian afrobeats sensation Rema is his favourite song at the moment.

Vin Diesel said his 8-year-old daughter influenced him into liking the song.

The Fast & Furious star said, “I have to say this, my daughter, Pauline, who is 8 years old, runs around the house going ‘Calm down, calm down, calm down!’

Last week, the remix of Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ featuring American superstar, Selena Gomez peaked at Number 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the highest-peaking Nigerian song in the history of the chary.

‘Calm Down’ has also gone Platinum in the US.
