My American Passport Is Worth More Than A Million Dollars – Davido Brags

David Adeleke, the world-famous Nigerian-American singer, also known as Davido, has made a revelation.

He revealed that carrying the blue passport has made travelling overseas easier for him.

He said when some of his band members are having difficulties with Visa approval, he always have an edge because of his American passport.

The Atlanta-born singer said the American passport was worth more than a million dollars.

He stated this in a recent interview with Omega.

Davido, however, expressed pride in his Nigerian nationality.

“That part of my life [being born abroad] didn’t come out until I blew up. People thought I live in Nigeria. It was later on in my career that people realised that I did Alabama college and stuff like that.

“It wasn’t like I was introduced as an American artist in Nigeria. I’ve been in the streets back home. The only thing is that I could fly anytime I wanted, like go to America anytime I wanted.

“Till date, I don’t care how much money you’ve got, that blue passport is worth more than a million Dollars.

“For example, we were going to Australia for a tour, to get the structure is so hard because some of my band members were having difficulties in getting the papers just because of their passports.

“But obviously, it’s kind of easier for me because of the blue passport,” he said.

Davido Used To Be Backup Singer – B-Red

Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke aka B-Red, has given insight on how Davido’s music career started.
According to him, it was he who advised his cousin, Davido, to pursue a musical career.
He made the claim while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the Echoo Room podcast, hosted by Quincy Jonze.
The ‘Cucumber’ crooner said he advised Davido to start singing because he was “too good.”
He said, “He [Davido] was so good. Na me first tell David, omo, start singing.
 
“Shoutout to my cousin, M-Pizzy; he is still a good artist. We started pushing him [M-Pizzy] first. So one day, David was always doing backups, and I said, David, M-Pizzy is good, but you too, you are good oh, start singing na.
 
“David said, are you serious? I said, yes! And he started singing. So, it was my cousin, M-Pizzy that actually showed us the way. Shoutout to M-Pizzy too.”
During the show, B-Red also recounted how he and Davido sold 20 televisions in his father’s house.
He said he and his brother, Sina Rambo, also worked as personal assistants to Don Jazzy and D’banj during the Mo’hits era.

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy refused to reveal his choice after he was asked to choose who was a better footballer between Super Eagles legends, Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
It happened after his performance at the Champions League final kickoff show on Saturday night.
The star was seen having a chat with some football legends on CBS Sports shortly after the game.
He was asked to choose who was the better player between Kanu and Okocha by Arsenal and France legend, Thierry Henry.
“I have one for you, you go Kanu or Okocha? Henry asked.
Burna Boy responded: “Don’t do this to me, man. No, I can’t do this.
 
“This is treachery. It is treason. I can get hanged for it.”
However, after being prodded further, Burna Boy obliged to whisper his choice to Henry.
Former England international, Micah Richards claimed he heard Okocha.
But Henry refused to announce who Burna picked, saying “I will respect this one.”
Burna Boy told Micah that he doesn’t know who he picked.

Nigerian superstar singer, Davido, has stated that unlike in the past, the Afrobeats is now a million-dollar industry.

The ‘Unavailable’ crooner said the African music industry back then when he started and now is not the same.

He noted that afrobeats has grown from a poorly-funded industry to a multi-billion dollar industry.

Davido covered the first-ever edition of the Native Now Magazine.

He said afrobeats artists now are not only making millions of dollars but also changing lives and communities.

He said, “Afrobeats now and then is different, it’s a multi-billion dollar industry.

“You can’t compare it to years ago when we were just faffing around.

“We were making amazing music and a lot of money but now people are changing communities, changing lives.”

Burna Boy who made history as the first African artiste to perform at the Champions League final, spoke with Paramount+ shortly after the game.

He said he didn’t want City to win because he is a fan of their rival, Manchester United.

He said, “This was most amazing thing, even though I honestly didn’t want City to win for sentimental reasons, it’s okay.

“It is amazing performing at the UCL final.”

I Became Depressed After I Was Expelled From University – Mr Macaroni

Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Adebowale Adedayo, aka Mr Macaroni, has revealed that he became depressed after he was expelled from the university in 2017.

He said he was depressed because it was the fourth university he was attending.

The skit maker disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Saturday.

He wrote, “I was dealing with depression late 2017/2018 —- That was the period I was expelled from Uni. And it was the 4th University at the time.”

Mr Macaroni said he also suffered another round of depression in 2018 because of his inability to find acting gigs.

He said it was during that period that he started creating contents and posting online and achieved stardom.

He added, “From 2018-2019 was another round of depression. I continued hustling for roles again in Nollywood. I have been acting on and off since like 2011… From one audition to another. Dem scam me tire. I dey pay for form on top say I wan act….

“I started creating contents and posting online late 2019 when depression wan finish me. God picked my call same year.” [sic].

Mr Macaroni clarified that he was later recalled by the institution that expelled him and graduated successfully.

I’ll Be Happy If I Win Grammy – Davido

Afrobeats star,  Davido, has said he would be overjoyed if he wins a Grammy.

He, however, maintained that he didn’t release his latest album, ‘Timeless’ with the intention of winning awards.

Davido started this in a recent interview with Brut.

The ‘Dami Duro’ crooner said he is a digital artiste, but for his collaboration with The Cavemen and Grammy-award winning Beninese legend, Angélique Kidjo ‘Na Money’, he had to do a live record.

He said, “I was happy that I was out of my space and able to deliver that song [‘Na Money’]. Because I’m a digital artist; I record music digitally.

“But for that song [‘Na Money’], we had to record it live because The Cavemen record live.”

He continued, “If I win a Grammy, I will be happy, but I didn’t make this album [‘Timeless’] because I wanted to win anything.

“I made this album going into it, you know, happy, natural, you know what I’m saying!”
