The mother of one shared the heartwarming story during a recent interview on Beat FM.

She disclosed that when she was involved in gospel music, Adekunle Gold was a huge fan of hers and sent her numerous messages on Facebook. However, she didn’t see those messages and didn’t know him at the time.

Their paths eventually crossed at one of her musical performances when Adekunle Gold attended the show to watch her perform. After the event, he approached her to express his admiration as a fan.

According to Simi, her husband was very persistent in his pursuit of her as he explored every means to get her attention. She said she eventually became his friend because she was attracted to his kindness.

Her words,

“In the gospel community, I was pretty well known. And he [Adekunle Gold] had heard my album at that time as well.

“He has been reaching out to me on Facebook, DMing me on Facebook. But I didn’t see those DMs until we started dating.

“I don’t remember how we eventually linked up again. I had a show Bogobiri, and he turned up. He was very slim at that time with white BYC and jeans. He came to see me perform. I was like, ‘Oh hey! He was like, ‘Oh! I’m such a fan.’ And I was like, ‘Okay!’ [laughs].

“I don’t know, he must have been persistent because there is a friendship that came out from there. I thought he was a really nice guy. We became friends and later that year, he asked me out.

“I mean, as much as I was sounding like all that, I still didn’t really have nothing. He was a nice guy and I was like, ‘Okay, I don’t mind a nice guy’ [laughs].”

People Working For Me Have Houses Abroad But I Don’t

Billionaire Nigerian industrialist, Aliko Dangote has disclosed that he does not own a home in foreign countries but his workers own houses abroad which they use as holiday homes.

The richest man in Africa disclosed this during an interview with Business Insider Africa to outline the need for young people to take their eyes off luxurious things and focus on making their businesses grow.

He said;

“A lot of people even the younger ones, we need to be very careful because one of the biggest issues. With us Africans, it is that we spend our projected incomes.

“Once you start doing business and the business starts doing well, rather than for you to keep investing into the business, you start spending money and thinking that the profit will continue to come. There are ups and downs in business so you need to be very focused and say ‘Okay fine what do you do and how to do those things.

“Luxury things,  they also take up your time which will not make you focus on your business. I mean, I don’t have any holiday home anywhere; I don’t have a house anywhere but I know people who are working for me, they have a house in London. But I don’t.”

People Are Not Investing In Dance Like Music And Movies – Popular Dancer, Kaffy Laments

Kafayat Shafau, the popular Nigerian dancer, fitness coach and founder of the Imagneto Dance Company, who is also known as Kaffy, has talked about the dance industry.

She says that though dance is now better recognized as an integral part of the creative industry in Nigeria, investments towards its growth is still low.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “The good thing that has happened to dance is that it is now recognized both as a viable business and career. Unlike 10 to 15 years ago when I started, no parent would want to bring their child to dance classes. They did not understand what value it brought to their children, but now they do.

“However, I think one of the main problems it does not look like a very structured ecosystem is because of the way investment is going. Money is invested in movies and music, but not in dance. Dance is still seen as a service provider, rather than a part of the industry. The only question is, are people taking it seriously enough to consider it an ‘investable’ entity? Without investment and capital, dance cannot be sustained.”

The dancer also stressed that dance could be used for more than entertainment.

She said, “Dance is what holds the entertainment industry together. No one would want to go to a concert and watch an artiste stand on a spot; it would be boring. In the health sector, dance carries a lot of power too. I use dance as a therapy to treat people with trauma, and even autism. I use it to improve the retentive memory of children.”

Kaffy, who stated that she had invested a lot of her personal money into building a structure and technology to help both dancers and non-dancers, also noted that many talented dancers lacked a business mindset.

She said, “The problem is not the talent, but the mindset that it can be used to make money. However, that is not peculiar to dancers. We need to furnish the creative industry with adequate knowledge. They don’t need to go to university to understand accounting, marketing, sales, use of social media usage, and other things that can help their careers/businesses. That is what my platform is about to do for young people.”

“I am pro-choice” – BBNaija’s Doyin shares her thoughts on abortion

Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Doyin David, hasexpressed her opinions on the controversial view of abortion.

The former reality star, who identified herself as a pro-choice supporter, asserted that a pregnant woman should have the freedom to choose whether or not to have an abortion if she does not want to bring a child to term.

In a recent episode of her podcast, Doyin’s Corner, she said she did not think abortion was murder when it ended a pregnancy before the embryo developed into a fetus.

In her words;

“I will say I’m pro-choice first of all. Because there are certain circumstances or situations that people find themselves in, it’s not easy to keep the baby.

Sometimes, it’s not even based on the fact that it’s not easy to keep the baby, it is even health complications like ectopic pregnancy for example sometimes they had to take it out. Or situations where someone gets raped for example and they had to take it out. So, in that kind of situations, it’s very different.”
