No One Deserves To Die— Bobrisky Defends Jay Boogie

Idris Okuneye, the controversial Nigerian crossdresser, who is popularly known as Bobrisky, has taken to the internet to defend his colleague, Jay Boogie, amid his health crisis.

Recalls that Boogie recently faced serious medical complications following the kidney damage sustained during the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery and had, in a video on the internet, solicited financial support from the public.

Reacting to this on Friday, actress Sonia Ogiri, blaming Jay Boogie for his choices, wrote:

“My body my choice? Mind your business? You have no right to be in my business? I do what I like, etc has gone wrong? Now you are involving people? Be so careful of the decisions you make in life even though it’s your life.

“Everything in life has consequences. The kind-hearted Nigerians will still donate money, but as for me, I can only pray for God’s mercies and healing upon you. My money will never go into such a case when genuine people with no self-afflicted [problems] need help.

“When the wrath of God is in action, no human can stand it, period. Bob, well done. You’ve done well misleading some of our boys and you dare laugh at him now?”

Jumping to Jay Boogie’s defence, Bobrisky, in an Instagram post, emphasised that no one deserves to face life-threatening situations because of their lifestyle choices.

Responding directly to Sonia, he said: “Do you know you can make your valid point without mentioning my name? But if person wan chop ki for head, the head must surely scratch am.

“Your write-up ain’t brilliant at all. You need to do better next time. Love and kindness have no boundaries. I will say this over and over again. No one deserves to die over how he or she chooses to live his or her life. Regardless, people who will still want to help her/him will stand up for him/her regardless. You are only in a position to control how you give your own money, not how others want to spend theirs.”

List Of Exotic Vehicles Allegedly Procured By Ex-CBN Governor, Emefiele

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has accused Godwin Emefiele, the embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), of procurement fraud.

The former apex bank boss was accused by the anti-graft agency of procurement fraud over an N1.2bn contract for 43 vehicles.

Emefiele was accused of using his position to confer a corrupt advantage on Yaro by awarding a contract for the procurement of 43 vehicles worth N1.2 billion between 2018 and 2020.

Emefiele, who showed up in the courtroom around 10 am, was thereafter arraigned on Friday at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja on a six-count charge.

The former CBN Governor, who pleaded “not guilty” to the amended charge, was dressed in a light blue traditional outfit.

He was later remanded at the Kuje correctional facility pending a ruling on his bail application on November 22.

The Federal Government had reduced the criminal charges preferred against the former apex bank governor to six.

Although the amended charge marked CR/577/2023 still borders on procurement fraud, the counts were reduced with Emefiele as the sole defendant.

Below are the list of 43 vehicles allegedly bought by Emefiele.

1. 37 Toyota Hilux vehicles: N854.7m

2. One Toyota Avalon: N99.9m

3. One Toyota Landcruiser V8: N73.8m

Drama Looms As CSOs Tells Governor Akeredolu To Resume Or Transmit Power To His Deputy

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has been asked by Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for Democracy to either resume his duties in Akure, the state capital, or transmit power to his deputy, Luck Aiyedatiwa, for effective governance.

Addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, the Convener, Dr Tunji John Asaolu, said the people of Ondo deserve transparent and accountable leadership, and will not stand idle while political machinations jeopardise the well-being of the state.

Recall that Governor Akeredolu returned from his medical trip in Germany a few months ago, but he has been running Ondo State from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, a development that has led to several protests in the state.

But Dr Asaolu said, “We urge Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to prioritise the needs of the people and to resume his responsibilities without further delay or transfer power to his deputy. Our state cannot afford to be without effective leadership, and we demand swift action to rectify this situation.

“We call on all relevant authorities to urgently address this matter and ensure the seamless transition of governance to the Ondo deputy governor, in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.

“We remind all stakeholders that the constitution empowers the deputy governor to act in the governor’s absence. The political maneuvering preventing this is a violation of the very principles that underpin our democratic system. Ondo State deserves strong and unwavering leadership, especially in challenging times.”
