Davido Unfollows Portable On Instagram Over Portable’s Recent Outburst

Afrobeats star, Davido has unfollowed his junior colleague, Portable on Instagram.

This is coming after Portable accused the ‘Unavailable’ crooner of giving him bad advice

Portable had claimed that Davido advised him to sign with Empire instead of Sony Music, which he believed was a wrong move.

He also expressed his desire to win a Grammy, seemingly throwing shade at Davido.

This drama unfolded just days after Portable had dinner with Davido in Atlanta, and had begged Davido for a feature on a song.

The two artists had seemingly put aside their differences, but Portable’s recent outburst and Davido’s subsequent unfollowing suggest that their feud is far from over.

Afrobeats Now As Big as Hip Hop, R&B – Singer Fireboy

Nigerian singer, Fireboy DML has revealed that Afrobeats is on the same level as Hip-hop and R&B.
He stated this in a podcast interview with Noisey.
The ‘Peru’ hitmaker explained that Afrobeats isn’t just a genre but a culture and a movement with an incredible history.
Fireboy, however, said his own brand of Afrobeats is unique.

“I always say this, honesty is the soul of songwriting. It doesn’t have to be your story. It could be someone else’s story. It doesn’t matter. As long as it’s honest, when you put it out, someone somewhere is going to relate with it and that’s all that matters,” he said.

“That’s what I bring into my version of Afrobeats. Afrobeats is known for vibe, the energy and the rhythm. But I bring that intention, that songwriting feel. [I’m] Trying to put Afrobeats on the map. It’s just as big as Hip Hop & RnB if you let it. It’s a culture, it’s a movement. It has history. Now more than ever the world is paying attention.”

He spoke during a recent interview with Beats FM 99.9.

Ruger talked about the inspiration behind his latest singles ‘Luv Again’ and ‘Make Way’ and how he ended his feud with BNXN.
It would be recalled that the duo had a highly publicized fight that lasted nearly three years before it was finally resolved.
According to Ruger, the issue with BNXN was fueled by fan comparisons, which he believes are not always negative but unfortunately led to their conflict.
In his words;
“Comparison is a killer of joy, but it’s necessary for the game. This is what is entertaining these people. The arguments and all that.”

“We looked beyond that (the comparisons) and asked ‘How can we push good music together?’ Because there’s a lot of distractions now in the music space.

“Some people are releasing things that are not good, but they are using money to push it and it’s flying. If you look at the ‘RnB’ project, it’s very good music,” Ruger said on squashing his beef with BNXN and collaborating on the joint EP ‘RnB’” he added.
