Go And Pay Your Respects to Filmmaking Experts – RMD to Basketmouth

Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has hailed comedian-turned-filmmaker, Basketmouth on his debut movie, “A Ghetto Love Story.”.
However, he urged him to seek guidance from experts in the movie industry.
RMD offered the words of advice via his Instagram page and wrote: “Congratulations on your new film ‘A Ghetto Love Story’. I say make I call you, hail you first and then give you advice. You know you are entering a place where people have already established. Hold ground.
 
“You fit press things for different places. This is not comedy. Do not do it anyhow. This na film.
 
“When you enter, go find people wey hold ground. People wey dey control the whole area. All of them like Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, AY, Kunle Afolayan and other people wey dey do film well. Wey be oga. Call them.
 
“Tell them you want to know one or two things. Comedy with Buchi fit work, but that na after you don pay respect to people wey hold ground.”

Popular rapper Emeka Akumefule, aka Blaqbonez has named himself as the most handsome artist in Nigeria.
Speaking on the matter, Blaqbonez said it’s unfair to call him ugly when he is more handsome than his colleagues.
The rapper stated this while reacting to a post by a female fan admiring him on X.
“Blaqbonez so fine,” the fan gushed.
Reacting, Blaqbonez wrote: “I remember when they called me ugly when i’m literally the most handsome artist in Nigeria. Smh.”

Singer, Simi Advises Fan Dating A Single Dad

Popular Nigerian singer/songwriter, Simi has penned an advice for a 22-year-old fan who asked for help in her relationship.

In a Snapchat session with her fans, the singer and mother of one posted the story of a fan who asked for her advice in navigating her relationship with a 30-year-old single dad.

The message reads:

“I’m a 22 year old college student and recently started dating a 30 year old guy who has a kid. I really really lhe him a lot. Like I feel we are so compatible, but I know my parents will be so against it. What do you think I do in this situation?”

Reacting to her message, Simi penned a lengthy advice, noting that she should not date him just because she loves him but consider other things.

I Started Singing Before I Started Talking – Oxlade Claims

Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Oxlade, has claimed that he started singing before he could talk.

Featuring in a recent episode of the ’90s Babies’ podcast, Oxlade claimed his parents told him that.

He explained that as a child he sang faster than he could follow up with talks.


“I started singing before I started talking. My parents told me that I started singing before I could even talk,”
he explained.

“I sang faster than catching up with talks. That was what my parents told me. I feel like that was where it [my talent] all started from.”

Big Brother Naija ‘No Loose Guard’ housemate, Wanni, has made a claim against Season 4 winner, Mercy Eke.
Wanni claimed that Mercy struggled to provide entertaining content to the viewers during the All-Stars edition.


She further claimed that Eke was so desperate to provide content that she forced a relationship with Whitemoney and kissed Pere and Kiddwaya.

Wanni stated this during a conversation with fellow housemates on Monday.
 
“During the All-Stars season, Mercy was struggling to be dramatic. She struggled to the extent that she forced a relationship with Whitemoney and even kissed him. She also kissed Kiddwaya and Pere,” she said.
Wanni also said ‘Level Up’ edition runner-up, Bryann, has fallen off the radar since the end of the show.
Recall that Mercy Eke came second in the All-Stars season behind winner, Ilebaye Odiniya.

“On Friday, we want to do Isese and I want to give the King of Oke Osa a Range Rover. Ikateko gave me the car in Ikorodu for me to use and now I want to give the king, Waliu Oduntan using Range Rover. It has been written that Portable gave out the Range Rover to Waliu Oduntan, the King of Oke Osa. The king likes to wear white so I’m also giving him a white car. I was gifted the car and I have now gifted it to someone else, not that I don’t value it but I have used it very well and the car opened up ways for more cars for me.”

Mohbad’s Family Stops Concert For Late Singer

The family of the late Afropop star IleriOluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has requested that Pastor Larry Omodia, the promoter of the ‘Sing for Mohbad’ concert, postpone the event until the substantive application in the case is heard.

In a statement, Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, explained that Omodia and his agents should not commercialize the death of the Afropop star pending the determination of the originating motion for interlocutory injunction.

According to the family: “In the motion with suit number HCT/871/2024, which was argued by Emmanuel Oroko, Esq., for the applicant, Mr. Joseph Aloba stated that Justice Osunfisan ordered as follows: ‘An‘ order of interim injunction is hereby granted restraining the respondent, whether by himself, servants, agents, assigns, or otherwise however called, from holding any event titled ‘Sing for Mohbad and Win’ organized by the respondent, which is set to be held on the 12th, 13, and 14 of September 2024 at Aqua Lounge or any other place pending the determination of the originating motion for interlocutory injunction dated and filed on the 6th September 2024. The order of interim injunction hereby granted on the 12th day of September 2024 is to last for 7 days following the provision of the Rules of Court.”

Earlier, the public was advised to respect the solemn period and not to commercialize the occasion by using the goodwill of their son.

The matter has been adjourned to October 7, 2024, for the hearing of the originating motion for interlocutory injunction.
