Bella Shmurda Reveals How Mohbad Death Affected His Mental Health

Nigerian artist Bella Shmurda has opened up about how the passing of his close friend and collaborator, Mohbad, reshaped his outlook on life.

During a recent TikTok livestream with influencer Joblaq, Bella Shmurda explained that he is currently in a period of self-rediscovery, largely influenced by the tragic loss of Mohbad.

According to him, the incident brought a new sense of clarity to his life.

“Rest in peace, Mohbad. After his death, my mindset shifted completely. My perspective on life changed,”Shmurda said.

He further reflected on his parents’ words while growing up: “Back then, whenever we misbehaved, they would warn us, saying, ‘Don’t worry, one day you’ll understand.’ Now, I realize I’m at that stage of understanding. I’ve come to see things differently.”

It will be recalled that Mohbad died under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023.

Yinka Ayefele’s radio stations ravaged by fire

Gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele suffers grief as his radio stations ravaged by fire.

This was announced by Yinka Ayefele via a Facebook post alongside a video of the incident and crying emojis.

In a follow-up post, Yinka Ayefele released a statement addressing the fire outbreak at Fresh FM 105.9 and Blast FM 98.3, which occurred on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The fire ravaged proximal offices, including the newsroom, transmitter, server room, and several equipment, during active operations.

Despite efforts to fight the fire with in-house extinguishers before the arrival of professional firefighters, proved abortive.

Furthermore, the management extended gratitude to good-spirited Nigerians who assisted in fighting the outbreak.

The statement reads 

“We are sad to inform the general public that the the head office of Fresh FMNigeria, challenge – ibadan was razed by a devastating fire incident this evening, August 15, 2025. 

In the ensuing mishap, the studios of fresh 105.9 and blast 98.3 were badly burnt with proximal offices like the newsroom, the transmitter/server room and several equipment that got razed during active operations

All efforts to fight the fire before the arrival of the professional fire fighters with our in-house fire extinguishers proved abortive because of the strength of the inferno.

We can’t immediately quantify the extent of the damage caused by the devastating inferno, the cause of which is also yet to be ascertained presently. We heartily appreciate every good-spirited Nigerians who joined us in fighting the inferno.

Popular Nigerian singer, Chike has given his opinion on marriage.
According to him, getting married seems like a “stupid step”.
Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the singer said he has no plans to marry.
“In my personal opinion, I think it’s a stupid step to get married. That’s my opinion”, he said.
The “Running” hitmaker said marriage is not for him.
‎Chike also added that his happiness depends on financial stability.
‎“I need a lot of money to be happy,” Chike said, stressing it’s not greed but a desire for the life he wants.
‎He also shared that music was never part of his original plan, discovering his passion only after university.
‎Known for his soulful vocals, Chike acknowledged some critics see him as arrogant, but said such opinions don’t bother him.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Segun Remi aka Chief Kanran has passed away.
The actor died at the age of 72. This was confirmed by celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi, in a post on his Instagram page.
However, the cause of his death has not been made public.
Sharing the sad news, Seun wrote: “Popular actor, Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, died Friday morning.”

Tacha Demands $10M Compensation For Phyna’s Sister After Dangote Truck Accident

Former Big Brother Naija star Natacha Akide aka Tacha, has reacted to the accident involving a Dangote truck and Phyna’s sister, Ruth.
She demanded substantial compensation for Ruth and her family over the accident.
Recall that the accident resulted in Ruth losing one of her legs.
Speaking in a post on Instagram, Tacha said:
“It’s high time the Dangote group starts paying heavily for the recklessness of their drivers. They ought to pay $10 million in compensation to Ruth even though it won’t bring back her leg.”

Media personality, Toke Makinwa has stated that she’s a hopeless romantic.
According to the media personality, she doesn’t hate men.
She spoke days after revealing that she’s set to welcome her first child.
Speaking during an interview, she noted that she had prayed to God to make her a mother before 40.
Following that prayer, she and her partner did it and she became pregnant that December.
She said:
“The popular belief out there is that I bash men, I hate men. It’s never been the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic. People did not know that I was depressed. Till now people did not know why I did that thanks giving service and I’ve never talked about it till this moment. At the start I told God I want to turn 40 a mum. Ibom Air: Comfort Emmanson’s Lawyer Speaks On Her Next Plan After Release From Kirikiri Prison

Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently released from Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos after an altercation with the airline’s crew, has yet to decide whether to press charges against the carrier.

Her lawyer, Adefunke Maria, disclosed this on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, condemning the treatment her client received from the airline’s flight attendant, who allegedly blocked her from disembarking after a flight from Akwa Ibom to Lagos last Sunday.

Maria said, “On the way forward, whether Comfort will allow the sleeping dogs lie, she will inform us, we can’t disclose that online. She is a full-grown adult. If she is going to press civil charges for compensation, she will let us know. But for now, we can’t decide for her. She will revert.

“For now, she just needs to rest, put herself together.”

Recall that viral videos showed Emmanson and a flight attendant engaging in a physical altercation as security officials tried to intervene. While many Nigerians criticised her aggressive reaction, others faulted the attendant for preventing her from leaving the aircraft.

Particular outrage was directed at the alleged indecent exposure Emmanson suffered during the confrontation with ground staff at the Lagos airport.

Maria accused the airline’s staff of filming the incident and leaking the footage online, an action she strongly condemned.

Emmanson was arrested at the airport, arraigned in court, and remanded in prison the same day. The speed of her prosecution fuelled accusations of selective justice, with calls for similar treatment of Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, also known as Kwam 1, who attempted to block a moving ValueJet aircraft in Abuja on August 5, 2025, but was not prosecuted.

On August 13, 2025, Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, ordered that all charges against Emmanson be dropped, leading to her release. He also directed airline operators to lift the lifetime flying ban imposed on her.

Despite her release, social media users continue to urge her to seek legal redress. For now, her lawyer says she is taking time to rest and “put herself together” before deciding on her next move.

Phyna blasts Dangote Group over statement on accident involving sister

Big Brother Naija Level Up winner Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded to a press statement issued by Dangote Group regarding her sister’s recent accident involving one of the company’s trucks.

A day earlier, Phyna had publicly called out billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote and his company, alleging that the truck, which crashed into her sister, was tampered with by police on the company’s orders to remove its plate number. She warned that while Dangote might have wealth, “he isn’t God,” vowing to pursue justice.

Phyna, however, criticised the tone of the message, calling it ironic given the severity of the injuries sustained. She highlighted that her sister’s leg had already been amputated and questioned the urgency of the company’s actions.

“Appropriate compensation? Quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now? Let’s not forget the bike man, who is also in critical condition,” she wrote.

Her response has drawn fresh attention to the case, with many awaiting further updates on both her sister’s and the bike rider’s conditions.
