We Are Artistes, We Can’t Be Fighting Over Politicians – Nigerian Singers, Peter Okoye And Seun Kuti Resolve Feud (Video)

Nigerian music stars Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P of the former P-Square duo, have reportedly reconciled and resolved their long-standing feud.

Recall that musicians traded words over the 2023 elections with the reason for the tirade being the Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi.

The feud started after Kuti called Obi an “opportunist,” and Peter fired back by questioning Kuti’s relevance and success as an artist, leading to a messy social media war.

The duo appeared to have buried the hatchet as they were spotted hugging each other at a Lagos club recently.

“We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,”
Kuti was heard saying to Okoye, who concurred and shook him.

Sampling Fela Doesn’t Make You Fela – Nigerian Singer, Seun Kuti Slams Afrobeats Artistes (Video)

Maverick musician Seun Kuti has cautioned Afrobeats artists against drawing comparisons between themselves and his late father, the legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

He frowned against the actions of some Afrobeats artist who address themselves as the modern day equivalent of Fela just because they sample his songs or draw inspiration from his style of music.

The Grammy-nominated singer explained that he is not against sampling Fela’s works, but against the comparisons between the late music legend and some Afrobeats artists.

He emphasised that sampling Fela’s music isn’t tantamount to equal status with him.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Hits Don’t Lie podcast, Kuti said, “A few people have done good samples of Fela’s music. But the only critique that I have is that sampling Fela doesn’t make you Fela.

“So, people should stop saying that they are my dad. That is crazy. It crazy when people say that they are the ‘New Fela.’ Where is the ‘Bob Marley’? It is only in Nigeria you hear such. We so wild stuff here. People are wild.”

Several Afrobeats artists including Wizkid and Burna Boy have drawn comparisons with Fela after sampling him on multiple occasions.

Street-hop artists such as Bella Shmurda and Portable have publicly referred to themselves as “New Fela”.

Rapper Olamide sparked controversy late last year after declaring Wizkid “the greatest Afrobeats artist after Fela”.

How DSS Operatives Rescued Two Kidnapped Kaduna Pastors, Nabbed Three Suspects

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Niger State have successfully rescued two ECWA pastors and a church member who were abducted by armed bandits in Kaduna State.

The victims, Rev. Idi Buhari, Rev. Emmanuel Jacob, and Suleiman Adamu, were kidnapped on January 9, 2026, at the Gwagwada area of Chikun Local Government Area while travelling through Kugosi to Sarkin Pawa in Niger State to officiate a wedding ceremony.

Receiving the rescued pastors, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, Rev. Joseph John Hayab, said the victims were safely rescued from the bush by DSS operatives during ongoing security operations in Niger State.

Hayab commended the DSS for what he described as courageous, timely, and selfless service to the nation, noting that the successful rescue brought immense relief to the church and families of the victims.

He said the safe return of the abducted pastors had renewed hope that criminal elements could be defeated through sustained and coordinated security efforts.

The CAN chairman noted that insecurity could only be effectively tackled through cooperation among security agencies, faith leaders, and the general public, warning that criminals thrive when communities are divided.

Meanwhile, DSS operatives of the Niger and Kaduna State Command, in a joint operation, also arrested three suspects linked to the incident.

The suspects are also involved in arms and ammunition courier, and they operate along the Kwara–Niger–Katsina–Kaduna axis.

According to one of the suspects, Kwalo, they transport the ammunition through motor parks and rural routes to evade security checkpoints.

He said they received a consignment from a courier at Tegina Motor Park in Niger State and handed it over to Kawu, who subsequently passed it to Iro Malam Iro for onward delivery.

Iro was said to have conveyed the ammunition from Tegina to Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, where it was allegedly delivered to an unidentified recipient after he was directed to use specific routes to avoid detection.

Kwalo received N50,000 for collecting the consignment, Kawu earned N5,000 as a middleman, while Iro was paid N20,000 as a courier.

During interrogation, Kwalo claimed he was deceived into handling the consignment, alleging that the sender told him it contained tantalite, a precious stone, concealed in sacks of millet to prevent theft.

Reacting to the arrests and rescue of the abducted pastors, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Sule Shuaibu (SAN), said the operation reflected the commitment of the DSS and other security agencies to protecting lives and property.

Shuaibu commended the DSS leadership for its sustained efforts, assuring residents that the Kaduna State Government, under Governor Uba Sani, remains committed not only to maintaining peace but to sustaining it.

He urged citizens to support security agencies by promptly reporting suspicious activities, stressing that security is a shared responsibility and that continued collaboration is critical to curbing criminality across the state.

Phyna, the popular Nigerian reality TV star, was involved in a heated confrontation with a police officer after her car was stopped on a road in Nigeria.

The incident happened in the middle of the road, where Phyna questioned the legality of the stop, insisting that police officers should not randomly block vehicles without proper procedure.

She expressed shock, saying she had never seen police officers stop cars in such a manner and argued that officers are meant to park properly before carrying out checks.

DNA Saga: I’m Devastated By The Way You’re Cursing Me – Davido’s Alleged Daughter Replies Singer

Anu Adeleke, who claims to be singer Davido’s daughter, has responded after the artist publicly denied her request for a DNA test and dismissed the paternity claim on social media.

Earlier, 626BLAZE reported that, in a series of tweets, Davido stated that he had never met Anu’s mother except during the period a DNA test was conducted.

He claimed that several DNA tests had already been carried out at different hospitals to settle the matter and insisted that the issue had been conclusively addressed.

The singer accused Anu’s mother of misconduct and said she should be locked up in jail over the continued claims.

Davido also revealed that his father played a role in ensuring the DNA tests were done, stressing that his family takes matters of blood ties very seriously.

In a post shared on her page, Anu said she was deeply hurt by Davido’s reaction, stating that she felt bullied and emotionally affected by the way he addressed her and her mother online.

She explained that her intention was only to confirm her identity, not to create trouble or attract public drama.

Anu also questioned Davido’s claim about the number of DNA tests allegedly conducted.

According to her, the figures mentioned by the singer do not align with what her mother told her.

She stated that her mother maintained they only participated in one DNA test in the past and has continued to insist that the test was not properly conducted.

She added that her mother has already shared a detailed explanation on the matter, which remains visible on her page.

I May Not Be Alive For Long, Pastor Chris Okaor Has Done Many Bad Things To Me – Doris Ogala Raises Alarm (Video)

Doris Ogala, the popular Nollywood actress, has sparked widespread concern after posting a series of emotional messages online, revealing that she is facing serious personal challenges and accusing popular cleric Chris Okafor of being responsible for her distress.

In a video posted on social media, the visibly distressed actress broke down in tears, stating that she is “not okay” as she narrated several traumatic experiences that she said have deeply affected her mental and emotional health.

Ogala recounted alleged miscarriages, her arrest and detention following public accusations she made against Okafor, as well as distressing marital experiences.

She claimed that at one point, she returned home to discover her husband’s mistress and child.

According to the actress, the cumulative effect of these experiences has been overwhelming and far beyond what anyone should endure.

“This is not okay. None of what I’ve been through is okay,” she said in the video, struggling to hold back tears.

Shortly after, Ogala shared another post that further intensified concerns among fans and colleagues.

“I may not be alive for a long time.

“Chris Okafor has done so many bad things to me that I may not be able to speak. I am tired of hanging on.

“Everything is not okay,” she wrote.

She also appealed publicly to a family member, Emeka, to reach out to her if possible.
